  1. Ah yes, the classic counter argument that never works...Attack the masculinity of a blogger whose opinion you do not share. A strange & peculiar move that is neither funny nor profound.

I am an admirer of the entire NFL Sir. The Colts are my favorite team & yet I am somehow forbidden from pointing out another football squad's obvious talent level.

Real debate & analysis requires wide scrutiny not just a narrow division focus.

I was just playing with you man. I just don't care for the Texans.

  2. You know that old saying, "you can't polish a turd"? That applies here. What an absolute garbage team. Texans have no business trying to contend with the elite. They sucked for the last 10 years and proved that they still suck. Funny how cocky fans get when their team has a couple of winning seasons. I actually thought they would put up a fight but this was worse than varsity vs. freshman. I don't ever want to see ANYONE mention the Texans as an elite team. They sure have an elite game manager though LOL.

    You put it perfectly.

  3. I am torn. I can't bring myself to root for the pats. I really don't think we have a realistic shot at winning the division. I just don't see us beating Houston on their home field. I think we should be rooting for Houston to win tonight so they might rest their starters the last game of the season. If I knew we would definitely beat KC, my thinking might be different.

How do we not havw a realistic shot at winning the division.... i don't get your thinking.

And I kind of wish people would chill with the New England hate.

    They are the real deal.

  4. At this point we will not say what this team cannot do, because we obviously no longer know the limits to their potential

    I agree.

And I'm tired of people acting like the Texans are in a whole different league than our Colts. Don't be surprised if we sweep them.

  5. Wasn't the same without Freeney but honestly got lost in the whole Pats going 18-1 bit but they might have been the best Colts team we ever had. We blew a double digit lead at home against New England something you never see us do and lost the craziest Colts game I have ever seen in San Diego but other than the playoff loss those were the only games we truly lost that year. Very underrated team but that's their own fault had they been able to stop the Chargers back up QB and back up RB (who was Turner and was pretty darn good) we might very well look at them in a different light. I would have loved another shot at New England that year.

Yeah I agree. It's a shame what happened.

  6. I mean doesn't anybody stop and think that maybe these guys are just really good. I know this is a young team but these guys can flat out play football. It should be scary for the rest of the league for years to come. I think everybody basis everything on last year this is a new team. I mean Grigson and Pagano has done a awesome job putting this team together. There is no ugly wins in the NFL there still some great plays being made on field. Do you think teams with below 500 records would give anything to have the wins we've had. There are teams like the Browns would give away every win they've had the last ten years to have one season like were having. So let's just enjoy the ride!

I agree. I remember in 2006 we were winning close games too.

  7. Yeah...we actually had a 10 point lead on them in the 4th quarter. That game really cost us in terms of injuries. Remember the following week we went into SD with 7 starters missing? Manning had six INTs and we lost Freeney...that really killed us in the playoff game, as did Harrison's fumble and Kenton Keith's stone hands. I still maintain, however, if the Colts manage to win that 2005 Pittsburgh hame , they win the SB. New England was gone, and Seattle was not that good. darn you Nick Harper for not just running to the sideline! Like Big Ben was going to get the angle on you? No you had to try and juke him (no I am not still bitter)

Wow. I do remember all of those injuries. I remember Anthony Gonzalez broke his thumb or something.

Let's not get started about 05.

  8. I actually thought the 2007 Colts team was the best team ive seen in the Manning era when they were healthy. Once Freeney got hurt and other players started getting banged up that pretty much derailed the chances for a SB repeat.

The 2005 team was great but I thought our secondary wasnt quite as good as the 2007 team. Other than that they were pretty even.

Honestly if we were healthy that year I think we could have been the ones to end NE's perfect season. We had the offense and we had what the Giants had which ultimately lead to NE's undoing...a great pass rush from the front four. We were one of the few teams to slow down NE's offense during the regular season because of it.

Shoot we almost beat the Pats. I remember the defense sacked Brady on the first play! Then i remember Addai's crazy touchdown run to end the half.

And I agree. It was the most complete team in the Manning era.

  9. I know many people won't be interested in this topic but looking back, the 2007 Colts were pretty good. I think it was a pretty complete team.

Usually i just think of the patriots and Chargers that year. The two teams that beat us. What did you guys think of that 07 team?

  10. absolutely...nothing about this season makes sense....we have 45 new guys on the roster?

we've allowed far more points than we've scored,,,our coach is in the hospital....we have defensive ends playing linebacker

..and we almost had no running backs left to finish the game..

..and we're about to go to the NFL playoffs....I have never seen anything like this

Maybe this team is like the 2001 Patriots?

  11. Some want to say he's a rookie head coach and an rookie interim head coach at that, but I'm not buying it. He's been a part of a football staff for 37 years so it's not like its picking some random accountant or construction worker out of the crowd to handle clock management decisions.

This little visit to wiki did help me understand a quote from a book I have.

So this is when Manning was a rookie?

  12. In your mind. Manning is a football player, an occupation which hardly deserves the term "legend" associated with it. His achievements are hardly legendary. Someone wins the SB and the MVP every year. There are a handful of QBs in his era who have eclipsed or matched his achievements. He is a very good football player, ONE of the top players of this era.

Dude... we are talking football. Not the history, accomplishments, and revolutionaries of the human race.

In the football world, he has revolutionized the game. He has paved the way for QB's. The man is a living legend in football.

  13. If objectivity is the goal, then that has to be a 2 way street. Skins fans are using stats to say that RG3 is the superior QB, but when stats are used by the Colts fans that show that RG3 isn't the 2nd coming to the almighty himself like the media and so many Skins fans want us to believe, well then those stats are skewed or those stats don't tell the whole story. I've said multiple times now that there are variable's that have to be taken into account behind every stat, but the Skins fans only want to consider those variable's that shed a negative light on RG3 and dismiss the variable's behind some of Luck's mistakes this yr.. You can't have it both ways(and I don't necessarily mean just you). The far reaching efforts Skins fans are taking to convince Colts fans that their guy is better is utterly useless. We feel like we got the better guy and you guys feel like you got the better guy. We'll all find out who is right one of these days.

I think Redskins fans are just saying that RG3 has the potential to be the best QB in the league and they are pleasantly surprised by his accuracy. There has been no running QB as accurate as RG3. Thus of he continues his efficiency, he will truly be great because he has a higher ceiling then luck.

And so far he is playing great...

    Am I right Skins fans?

  14. Seems like to me, Griffin has an extra element to his game that gives him an advantage over a QB like Luck, and is still able to make throws into tight coverage, because I've seen him do it.

Seems like to me, that would give ol' Bobby a higher ceiling in regards to his talent level and performance.

Seems like to me, that scares a lot of people on this board...

    Yeah, I agree.

People felt it was okay to have Manning pack his bags since we were in position to get the greatest QB prospect since Elway. Now that Griffin might be the brtter QB. People are scared.

    My opinion.

  15. i hate when they bring up young's win loss record because its foolish. hes not the only reason why they win games. i wouldnt say cam was figured out because hes was still dominating last year. theres a reason why the option doesnt stick in the nfl and its because its not hard to figure out. its all about defensives not being discipline to their assignments that makes it successful. cam has just as big an arm as rg3 and im pretty sure hes just as fast so why cant cam run it in his second year

Lol but that's the argument for why Andrew Luck is the best rookie QB in the league.
