  1. I can agree with that! Both teams are so banged up (I know the Pats lost a LOT of key personel early on especially on D and both Denard and Talib been playing banged up, which is what I heard the announcer say about the Colts starting CB as well last week)

And I love my team but I cant see ANY team in the AFC beating either Seatle OR SF in the SB. doesnt mean I wouldnt cheer like hell for my team if they were in it but I am not expecting an AFC team topple either of those two teams (lol remember when their division was the JOKE of the NFL!)

And Colts beat both the Seahawks and 49ers. Lol

  2. It's true, nobody fears the Patriots anymore. (Except maybe the Texans. :) ) The 2003-2004 Patriots were a once in a lifetime team. They were feared. This team is not. They haven't been since 2007.

Teams that are feared are rare. I don't see one this year. Not even close.

I don't see any either. Even the mighty Broncos, who has a QB that threw 55 TD's, are vulnerable. We all saw what happened to the Colts in 04 and, to a lesser extent, the Pats in 07, when the playoffs arrived.

  3. You think I think he should be a joke? Because that's all my avatar is lol. Googled Andrew Luck Colts. Found this image. Laughed. And used it. A mature psychology isn't your thing friend.

I could give a rip what people think about Andrew. He's a big boy he can fight his own fights.

What I find comical is that Skips review of Luck is based on anything but personal bias, and a narrative carefully spun to down play his accomplishments.

Luck has far exceeded any expectation placed in him. That's indisputable. He's played mature beyond his years. However, if this was RG3 or Tim Tebow, Skip would be praising him to the moon. In fact he did. For both of those guys. For doing the exact same things Luck has done.

I've also never said anyone said he "sucks" but your reading skills seem to be on par with your psychoanalytic skills. So I give you a pass on that.

The article is a joke not because it contains critiques. It's a joke because if it's a player he likes, it's a completely different narrative.

What was funny about the picture?

  4. Who called him the MJ of the NFL? I have not seen that quote anywhere. If you could point that out I would greatly appreciate it.

Believe it or not Luck is part of the team. So winning as a team counts as a check for him too. Ask Curtis Painter how easy it is to win as a "team." A good QB accounts for a decent amount of wins just on stability alone in the NFL.

I would wager that his second season stats stack up favorably with many greats of the NFL. Like I said. Compared to season vets. His stats aren't sexy. Compared to second year players, he's near or at the top.

He is a big part of the team.... But team wins shouldn't constitute as an individual QB stat.

Terry Bradshaw must be better than Marino...

I don't disagree with him being one of the best 2nd year players and neither is Bayless. No one is saying he Sucks or is even mediocre.

It seems as though you feel the only sane opinion of Luck should be an opinion that is in line with your avatar.

  5. LOL I dont get the argument of "its been 10 years" since they won the SB crap. that mean the colts should never been feared with manning as they ddnt win till 2006?

Prove how silly the argument is with NE (let a colts fan do it with Indy)

    With Brady as QB:

Years: 12 (lost 1 to injury week 1)

    SB:5

    AFCCG: 7

So in 12 years Brady in NE gone to the championship game 58% of the time!! Thats freakin sick!!! So maybe not feared but damn well earned the respect.

The point is people grow weary of the mystique associated with the Patriots which was conceived by the 03-04 Pats.

Some people act as if the Colts are about to play those teams when they are really playing the 2013 Pats which are very vulnerable and flawed.

The Pats are rightly favored but this isn't David vs Goliath. This is a flawed, consistent, team with moxie and home field advantage vs another flawed team with moxie but with a higher upside and inconsistent play.

The accomplishments of the past Patriots teams are irrelevant. Very very very irrelevant.

  6. Why can't you guys understand the actual quote that Grigson said "He’s always been a different animal in the fourth quarter, his whole life, and just even hearing the story from his uncle [and agent, Will Wilson]. He relishes those moments. It’s like Jordan when he’d take that last shot — he wants the ball. This guy, we’re so blessed, he wants the ball in those situations. Other guys don’t want the ball; they want to hand it off. They don’t really want it — they’re gonna be half-stepping it. This kid is gonna rear back and throw a bomb when he has all the pressure on him. And that’s a thing of beauty. You’re born with that."

Based from that quote, what it tells me is that, much like Jordan, Luck wants the ball when it matters most. He doesn't shy away from the big moments, and looks to be the guy that the others can count on to be the man when it comes down to the nitty gritty. Nowhere did he say that Luck was gonna be a 6 time champ, multiple time MVP, and considered by most as the greatest ever to play the game.

The underlined is the part that people have misconstrued Grigson's words into and have decided to run with it. Evidently you being one of those too.

Me, on the other hand, take his words for exactly what they are. Also, to me, Luck has shown multiple times that he does come up clutch in the 4th quarter, wants the ball in his hands, and has the capabilities to win the game. Not so sure why this was so hard for people to understand, but hey to each their own I guess.

He is still being likened to MJ. It's all about connotation. It really isn't a big deal to me. There isn't anything wrong with it to me if that's how you feel. What I thought was funnier is the "team of destiny" quote.

My point though is that Bayless is being fair and level headed. Like I said, I don't see why the title of this thread was warranted.

Now that article by the Boston writer was freaking crazy and delusional!!!!

  7. How many second year players have the overall stats Andrew has? How about the wins?

If you want to compare Luck to 10 year vets. Sure his stats aren't a sexy. But as a second year player he's in the elite.

His stats really aren't great... I'm sure there are plenty of 2nd year players with similar stats.

Wins are a team stat. No one is saying he is not one of the best young QB's. But saying he is the MJ of the NFL, I have to agree, is pretty premature.

I like Luck. That win over KC was amazing and he is making me forget about Manning. But he has some growing to do before he can be considered one of the best all time or the MJ of the NFL.

He is definitely on a great path and so far, I'm starting to believe the hype that he had coming out of college.

The thread title just makes it seem as if Bayless is saying that Luck sucks, and that's not what he is saying.

  8. He doesn't have an extensive track record of playing in the elements, but:

    1. Has a very good arm, drives the ball well. Doesn't he also have freakishly huge hands? Or am I thinking of one of the other QBs from that draft class? You saw in the Denver-Pats game how Manning had trouble throwing in that wind and cold. I don't see the same thing happening with Luck.

    2. Mobility wise, he's terrific. If the field is wet that helps the offense a little. Receivers get a little edge when making cuts, and pass rushers don't get great footing.

    3. Most of all I think it's safe to say (based on his penchant for comebacks) that Luck is very mentally tough. That might be the most important aspect of a player when they're out in the elements.

If the weather is poor it will provide a slight advantage to NE, just because of their history of playing in it. When you live, practice, work in a place that's got tough conditions, you're going to be more used to it.

Do the Colts ever practice outdoors deliberately in rain/wind/snow/cold? Just to simulate likely game conditions? I know Belichick does that. If they're playing in Miami in the late fall, for instance, he'll have them practice inside the bubble at Gillette and crank up the heat. If it's a loud stadium, he'll blare music (usually Bon Jovi, presumably) while the offense is trying to run plays. Stuff like that. It's been cold in Indiana this week, so I don't see a huge advantage either way.

Hahaha... Cold is an understatement. It was like -11 or something like that. There was a polar vortex. We had a snow storm and the roads have been horrible.

  9. Easy for me: if Colts win, Chargers. If Colts lose, Broncos. Do NOT want to see SD at NE.

I feel the exact same way.... Although I wouldn't be mad if we get a chance to beat the Broncos on our way to the super bowl. But I would rather face the Chargers at home.

    NE vs SD would suck.

  10. Much like picking between Marvin and Reggie or Peyton and Andrew you can't go wrong with either.

    Peyton > Andrew

    Harrison > Wayne

Lol pretty obvious which ones are better.

But some of the posts in this thread must be made by people with amnesia.
