I am curious to see Key's 10 yard and 3 cone though. I am not to concerned by just the 40 time.
he didn't do any of that at his pro day, but he did at the combine...except I don't see what his 10 yd was.
his 3 cone was 7.16
vertical 31
broad jump 9-7

stinks for him...could've been a Day 3 steal, depending on how bad the injury is.

Notable in that it is bad:
ouch...........wonder what his 3 cone or 10 yard splits would be?
-
great that he was able to stay available.......too bad what was available wasn't that great.

As Casserly said in the mock...Nelson, he feels, is the best ol prospect to come out since 2000....if so, that makes him a generational talent and in a position of need..... Castonzo,Nelson, and Kelly could be a lethal left side.

I'd be very much ok with that.

the #6 pick was really bad, but the others were actually solid. Sub Jackson for Nelson and we'd be in business.
-
The Jackson pick was made with Nelson, Chubb, and Barkley still on the board.

Say all the negative things about Grigson you care too but cap management is not one of them. He left this team in great shape as far as the cap is concerned.
this ^^^^^
the contracts he gave out were very team friendly....the problem is that their production wasn't team friendly.

Let's not forget, that it wasn't just the draft that earned Grigson NFL Exec of the Year.
It was also the fact that his team went 11-5 when it had an $80 payroll at a time when the rest of the NFL had a $120 Million payroll. The Colts had to carry $40 Mill in Dead Cap money for a year. That helped.
And he signed some decent free agent players who helped both sides of the ball. That helped too.
Yes, at the time his draft class was viewed as exceptional. ESPN said top-10 all-time. But now we all see how much that has changed over the years.
But Grigson had a very good first year as a GM. It wasn't just the draft.
I personally think that the early success doomed the initial rebuild. They didn't get to have a proper reset like they might be doing now. They went from a rebuild to win now in a matter of one year. Of course doing the win now poorly didn't help either.

no complaints here....as much as I'd love Nelson, I can see this happening. Especially with all the Guard talent that's available in the 2nd round too.

I'm just starting to watch some games of Edmunds and Smith and I'm really torn between the two. Edmunds' athletic ability and tackling ability are really top notch. But Smith has the same athletic ability and I have yet to see him take a false step or misread a play. I can't say the same for Edmunds.
So far to me it's a matter of size or football IQ. I personally prefer football IQ. But I can see the Colts drafting either.
What are your thoughts?can't really go wrong with either.....also Edmunds is a pup still (only 19) and he really doesn't even know what he's doing yet and was still dominant alot. Smith is, by far, the more polished player and has the better mental set up than Edmunds does at the moment. But he doesn't have near the size and physical traits Edmunds does, nor as high a ceiling. Edmunds has the potential to be very special(just needs time to learn more). Smith is the safer player at this point in time for sure. It's really what you value more right now...potential sky high ceiling but needs to learn a lot more or a not as high ceiling but a very high floor and a very good player still.
Like I said, can't really go wrong and both will still be an upgrade over what's on the roster right now and will make the D better either way.

Agreed. Lets spend our picks on Defense. We can get a rb in 7th round or UDFA. We can also upgrade the position by getting a rb after other teams cuts after preseason.
that and use Mack as he should be used......in space.
-
also makes me remember what it was like to have awesome play calling.

I'd take Edmunds at 6 if the others are off the board. Personally that's who I think they have in mind if the first 3 are not there.
Eberflus would be giddy as hell with the potential he could have the Edmunds. He appears to be a linebacker whisperer.

looks like the Rams are making a big push for him....Rapoport is reporting that the #23 pick is in play.
-
Him and Donald together will be tough.

I would take Barkley in this situation only.
Both Chubb and Nelson are gone and no suitable trade down options.
-
There comes a point where the size of the head case exceeds the talent level......that time has come for him.
-
Well Irsay has stated that he wants sustained greatness.......that's done through the draft

I had to remove quite a few posts in this topic. While we all enjoy a good joke it had threatened to derail the topic, especially when political talk starts.
Let's just keep it to Hooker's knee please.
at least he didn't take an arrow to it.

Castonzo, Nelson, Kelly..............makes for a potentially very good left side of the line.
