It'll be a competition between both of them to see who can take out the most teammates.

So you think Colts will re-sign him when the rookie contract is up?
If he's anywhere near as good as advertised he will Demand a Huge contract.........
If that's the case, then there's no issue paying him because he's earned it. Ballards point about signing their own.
-
if there's a QB taken at 2(Giants, or a trade up), then Colts will be in good shape to get Chubb or Nelson.
-
give the Bucs a "thumbs up" for pulling this off.

His mention of starting guards in the second rd. has me thinking if it's between Nelson or Chubb he might take Chubb since the ER class isn't that great.
that's very true....either way, we know the Colts should get an elite prospect at 6...whether it be, Barkley, Chubb, or Nelson.

Worth pointing out that in this interview Ballard emphasized the depth of the inside O-linemen group in the 2nd to 4th round. This leads me to believe that drafting a G/C in that range will be a priority. He said you can get day 1 starter from that group. I don't know what it means for Nelson and his prospects at being drafted to the Colts at 6. I still think if Chubb is there, he's our pick.
this draft is very deep on OGs......and I guess regarding Nelson, it'll depend on who's still available at 6.

if Suh goes to the Rams, that D-line will be scary.
him AND Aaron Donald, holy crap.

Dude, we don't even have 4 WRs on the roster.
if he ends up being 4th string, that means you have a good group of receivers.

from what I've read...sounds like he wanted the 1 yr prove it deal.

makes for a good conversation piece, but glad he's not the GM.

I watch the way Philly used ALL of their TEs last year and I am super excited for this signing. It is contingent on Ebron stepping up his game but he has all the tools...and now has a coach that should put him in position to succeed. I like the signing!
This is a nice little write up as to what Ebron could bring to the Colts O this year.

it's a mostly incentive based contract...the only way he sniffs that $7.5 mil per year is if he balls out. Which is good for him AND the team.
-
and he also said, "We're picking at 31 so we have no chance to see you....good luck"
-
Davenport has the potential to be a better pass rusher, but Chubb is the better overall player.

looks like his $9.6 mil deal is fully guaranteed too.

The colts are trying to build a core through the draft. If they give out big contracts to these 27-28 year old players, most of those guys will be reaching their decline once the drafted players reach their prime. I'd rather have the money then than now.
Also, this was a weak FA class. Norwell is good, but a guard was still the best player available.
That and this is a deep guard draft as well.

Could be a solid get.

Ballard sticking to his guns.....could he have been a good addition? Possibly.....but not for highest paid center in the league money.

According to this, Pugh left Arizona without a signed contract and will be meeting with the Colts:
