Also: Two of my late round favorite rookies in the pre-draft process who where both drafted by Pittsburgh:
Doran Grant, CB/S
Anthony Chickillo, DE/OLB
-
See him on Madden on the time when I look for the tallest corners in the game lol. He's 6'3" or something like that. Idk how talented he is tho.
I think you mean Kieth McGil the CB.
-
PFF certainly liked him. Gave him a 6.8, with a positive run defense score every game. 12th among DT/NTs in the pre-season.
-
Wait, all I heard was there were going to be teams falling over themselves trying to sign him. Huh. Guys not
Just because he wasn;t claimed does mean he won't be signed. He had lots of interest from other teams before he signed with us. He still has 3 years left on his deal, maybe teams would rather not claim him on the 3 year terms and just wait and sign him on a 1 year deal. I still think there's a good chance someone shows interest/signs him.

Think he is a OG...
Oline
Isn't he a OL
Brain freeze. Robert Myers, claimed from Ravens, is OG. Another position of need. #Colts
— George Bremer (@gmbremer)
September 6, 2015My bad. George Bremer tweeted out "Solid piece on DL" and I assumed his was a DL-man. My bad.
-
This is unexpected. There were no claims for former Saints CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet)
September 6, 2015Surprising. I thought someone would pick him up. I'd be all for the project on our PS if nobody shows any interest.

Robert "Snacks" Myers joins Colts off waiver claim after fifth-round pick cut by Ravens, per a soruce
— Aaron Wilson (@AaronWilson_NFL)
September 6, 201510th OL on the roster now. Right up to league average. Replacing Arkins spot on the roster.
-
#Colts hoped to get WR Duron Carter to the practice squad… They may, as no one claimed him
— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet)
September 6, 2015Would be great if we could get him on our PS.
-
McGill over Hughes, Chapman, and Pendleton? Alright.. He better prove himself worthy.
-
Dallas is trading a conditional draft pick to Seattle for RB Christine Michael, per source. RB help for Dallas.
— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter)
September 6, 2015Great pickup. I would of loved Micheal for a 7th.

I'd like Grigson to test the waters with:
- Terry Williams, NT, Chicago
- Louis Trinca-Pasat, DE/DT, St. Louis
- Andrew Tiller, OG, San Fran
- Ty Nsheke, OT, Washington
- Matt Longacre, DE/OLB, St. Louis
All of these players graded very well with PFF and where cut due to their teams being very deep at their position.
-
So next year lol? And Art Jones didn't show much when he was healthy. He can be a solid player, but I wouldn't expect much more.
Did you watch him in Baltimore? He was a beast. He's never really been healthy with the Colts (From memory 1 game of full health week 1 against Denver last year). He's either been injured, or recovering from one. He was one of PFFs highest rated 3-4 DEs in Baltimore. He means a lot to this football team and would bring our DL to another level if/when he's fully healthy.
-
Funny, your signature line says otherwise. ;) But yes, I would agree. Chapman wasn't looking "championship caliber" but who are we going to add at this point who is championship-caliber? Is taking another team's cast-off really the way to go? At least Chapman knew the system.
Just because I believe in Grigson in general doesn't mean I can't disagree with some moves, but hey he's being paid for doing them and I'm not so, there's that. ;)
-
Above average?? Langford is the best player of that bunch and he is a complimentary player. I have been impressed with Anderson, but I would keep my expectations down for a rookie defensive lineman.....that's a tough row to hoe.
"Looks above average when Art Jones gets back"
-
You can build a roster of only championship players when you have no depth. Your starting NT won't play all snaps where there is a NT on the field, you need depth. If you have a adequate backup then that's good enough, not great but listen if your looking for great right now, you're not gonna find it. Nobodies cutting championship talent. I think Grigs made a mistake cutting so much depth at key positions, weather they where under preforming or not, you still need players to come in and give at least adequate relief to you're starters while they're on the bench getting some rest.
-
He had a tremendous Pre-season. Props to him for coming in as a underdog and whopping out the favorites (Pendleton, Chapman, Hughes)
-
Terry Williams and Louis Trinca-Pasat where two pre-draft crushes of mine. If we could pick them both up I'd be ecstatic.
Langford, Anderson, LTP, Okine, Parry, Kerr, Williams is a very young but respectable DL. Looks above average when Art Jones is back.
-
Jeez. Must of gotten really tired of the project. I'd be for it if we didn't already have 6 CBs on the roster.
-
PICK. HIM. UP.
-
Nah. We already have 5 ILBs. All of their skills vary too, they're a pretty good fit. No need to add another.

Hence the "others such as yourself" part of my comment.
Hence the "Such as yourself" part of your comment...

Lol. He is not blazing fast compared to the typical "blazing fast" NFL player. The problem is he can't get into position to make the catch, or get seperation. He also plays like he's a 6'0 receiver. We all got to see his moves at training camp and preseason. Most weren't impressed , but others such as yourself obviously have a devotion to this guy and are even calling grigson a fool. You guys could go cheer for the free agents team now, I guess.
I'm talking about for 6'5" WRs. All the "blazing fast" WRs in the NFL are around 5'10ish, it's easier to move. When you start talking about 6'5 guys the standard should and is different.
And just a little FYI: Just because someone doesn't support a decision doesn't mean I'm calling Grigs a fool. Look back to the Draft, everyone was bashing Grigs over the Dorsett pick, and that's something I absolutely can't stand (bashing before thinking) so I made a thread about it. PLEASE find evidence of me bashing Grigson or calling him a fool. If you dare make false accusations again I will not be as calm. This is something I really hate, so I obviously don't like it when someone falsely tries to say I've done it.

He is a 4.58 guy. Not "fast as heck". And where I can see his production with a real QB? Where have you seen that production?
When he was getting reps with Andrew Luck. Safe to say he's a real QB.
As for speed, 4.58 was his combine 40, he trained tirelessly and improved his speed while in the CFL. A buddy of mine used to train at the same gym as him in Montreal and watched him run a 4.4 40, and I've seen a video of a 4.42 40. Unofficial of coarse, but still certainly not slow.
-
Did you watch him return kicks? That wasn't even close to blazing speed
I chose that play because it showed 2 very adequate speed bursts. The first one was more impressive, but still shows top end speed. He shows it while playing WR too, unlike many other kick returners.
I've seen a video of him running a 4.43 40 last summer, dude is fast.

So happy about Carter. Hope Herrera can join him on the PS. Really disappointed about letting him go, he's been really impressive.
