  1. Play to win no matter what. Even if someone subscribes to the idea of losing a game to potentially gain a spot in the draft...it's one position you're gaining. Also, there's the slightest chance we can make the playoffs, but that would work only if we win.

As you said, Brock gives the Broncos the best chance to win.  If it wasn't true Manning would be starting.  We aren't talking who is better between Brock and Manning in their primes, we are talking about right now.  The Colts fans that can see this are blinded by their love for him and can't realize that Manning isn't the same anymore.

If I'm not mistaken, Manning is still dealing with plantar fasciitis. I don't think Denver is making up injuries just to keep him off the field. At 39 years old, things don't heal like they used to. They never will again. Any reasonable Colts fan understands Manning today is not the Manning from years ago.

Up until midway last season, Manning was on fire. Then all of a sudden, he drops off. IMO, that's attributed to injuries that just don't heal as well, or as quickly since he's older. IMO, a rested, healthy, well protected Manning is still a better option than Osweiler. Manning doesn't have to last a season now, only a few games. That's not blind love for Manning. IMO, it's logical. I'm not saying Manning can last an entire season (next season). I'm saying rested, healthy and protected he'd be good for a few games. However, I don't think he's going to recover enough to be considered healthy at this point. I would love to see it, but I don't think it happens.

I think our division is finally getting competitive and people can no longer say that our winning record only reflects our poor division.

Sure would be nice to not have someone throwing that in your face all the time.

Both teams technically had Back ups in there, also BOTH teams have top rated D as well. I was disappointed the Bengals D allowed a 14 point advantage to go away.

Yeah, I thought the Bengals were going to really hang some points on Denver. I didn't watch the entire game, but kept checking the score. When I saw Bengals up by 14, I lost interest (not so competitive). Wasn't there a point where the Bengals were threatening to go up by 21? I checked the score again sometime after the half and the Broncos were up by 3, so I started watching the game.

Honestly, I was gonna root for Denver anyway regardless of whether or not INDY's season hung in the balance or not. Ware's fumble recovery of AJ MCcarron was very nice.

I'm rooting for Denver too at this point. Denver has become my second team because of Peyton. He most likely won't play, but at least he's part of the team.

After last night we can all say "THE SAME OLD BENGALS!" it isnt Dalton but the team wilts in Prime time!

They didn't get the win, but kept it close with a backup QB against the NFL's number 1 D in an away game. IMO, that's pretty impressive.

Amen Gramz Amen. Plus, Brock appears to realize what an asset Manning is to have in your corner just on film study dissection protocol alone.

The experience Peyton has pinpointing defensive & secondary vulnerabilities is incredible.

This would be a tremendous asset for a young QB to have.

That would be awesome to go to a SB in which we played in. Never have done that. I have been to a lot of games here though, when it was the old stadium and a few at Lucas including the sweet 2009 game vs the Pats. I just think if Peyton's healthy he has to be out there. Maybe he is done? Nobody knows yet.

I was at the 2006 AFCCG. I wouldn't trade that for the SB that year (as far as my attendance). I would describe myself as euphoric for a few hours after that game. To be at that game with fellow Colts fans was AMAZING. Attending a SB would be fun, but it wouldn't be the same as an entire stadium full of Colts fans.

A healthy Peyton with a good run and great D.

That's certainly true...but do you give Peyton Manning all the credit for the first 7 games?

No logical person would...we can only speak to fact and the fact is that Brock has beaten the other top AFC teams in rough conditions, in prime time.

No. I credit the Denver D with some of those victories. I qualified all my answers with "a healthy Peyton Manning". I don't know that Peyton can be healthy again this season. If he can be healthy again, and only healthy for a few games, it would be preposterous to choose a rookie QB over Peyton Manning. Even a less effective, physical Peyton Manning (the qualities not associated with health, but age), knowing his limitations can win with a good run game and the top Defense. A healthy Peyton has never had at his disposal a good run game and a top Defense. IMO, given only those 2 benefits, Peyton can win in the rain, snow and cold too.

Peyton Manning has the most interceptions this season and he's played in 6 fewer games than the next few guys on the list.

When Peyton was starting, the Broncos were winning despite his poor play.

Brock has been fine for them and has proven he can beat the best the AFC has in both the elements AND the cold.

Why anyone would want to take the ball away from him at this point is beyond me.

Discussing who will play is probably moot at this point. I don't think Peyton is going to be healthy enough to play. However, I don't give Brock all the credit for the games won. Especially the game against NE. NE isn't even close to the team it has been in the past. A weaker NE team, NE errors and a good Denver run game, top D helped Denver.

3 weeks ago, I was rooting for every team they played to absoultely destroy them for a really good draft pick. Now I'm starting to realize that there's only one week of Colts football left till the long offseason. :(

I know. I was so excited leading up to this season. For me, it has gone by quickly. I guess that's good since our season has been so bad.

Beautifully stated 18M. I couldn't have said it any better myself. Bravo! I thought it was very small, petty, & low class on Matthew's part.

Personally, I like it when opposing defensive players help QB's up because it shows a sign of respect to a rival & just because a LB may try to sack a field general on every down once the play is blown dead by a zebra; I'm just a competitor helping a peer up on his feet again.

Most NFL players can separate job duties: sacks, deflected balls, hurried throws, & turnovers from other counterparts who if we saw in civilian clothes on the street we'd say hi to & talk briefly with. I may hate the Cowboys as a team, but if I saw Romo in person, I'd be polite to. It's only when he puts that uniform on that I want him flat on his back honest.

I like this too. I think to myself what a gentleman the defender is when he does that.

Most games that I watched, they looked more like a 4-12 team.   Mostly looking very undisciplined and lost at times.

I'm worried for next year because I think Houston will get better and Jax is on the upswing.   Even Ten will do better than 3 wins.

I am somewhat concerned. Should a team be this bad without its franchise QB? There's quite a lot that needs fixing.

  14. If Peyton is healthy and rested. He only needs to endure a few games. I'd go with Peyton. Assuming he can at least be average physically, his mental capacity for the game is well above most.

If he's even a little gimpy, I'd go with Osweiler.

Chris Polian was and is horrible.... did he EVER do anything right? Grigson has brought in some nice players in the draft.

BTW the only issue I have ever had with Uncle Bill is that he tried to get Chris in as GM.  He was thinking of his family over the Colts.  So I dont blame him for trying.  Bill wasone of the best GM in the history of football

I agree with this. Bill was/is a smart, football guy.

  16. Is it because he's so tall his pass motion looks odd? I can't quite place what looks strange (at least to me). It almost looks like he's pushing the ball out, not stretching his arm out (overhead) as much as other QBs? I don't know. Does it look strange to anyone else?

The Pats will hang 70 on a Dolphins team that is already on vacay,  just so they can laugh at us.  Its over. #draftday

Probably, but they were a big favorite against the Jets too. It's not just the Miami/NE game that's unlikely to go our way. There are a few other games that are unlikely to play out our way, but we can hope I guess.

Probably have a better chance of being struck by lightning in January, several hundred feet into a coal mine. :)

Just saw another post the odds are about 3300 to 1. I feel much better now. The odds aren't nearly as slim as my scenario above.
