Welcome to the Colts forum. I am not a fan of either team but I would not be displeased if either team won (unlike last year :( ).  I am rooting for the Broncos because of Manning and all he has gone through to get back here. I think Cam and the Panthers will be good for many years and will have other opportunities to win one or more Lombardi Trophies.  This is probably Peyton's last chance.

LOL, I have liked, then unliked your post twice. I like the bolded part, don't like the unbolded part. :) Felt I should offer an explanation if you saw your likes go up and down.

I only root for the Colts but also root for Peyton + I picked the Broncos to win it all before the season started and have stood by it all season in here when several of the Peyton haters was saying he was done and freakin Brock Osweiler should start haha Pats wished Brock had played LOL

Probably would be NE in the SB if he had.

Lifelong Panthers fan here so I think it's obvious who I am pulling for. (Colts are my #2)

I will say it kinda irks me with all of these Bronco "fans" coming out of the woodwork cheering for a team they have no intention of cheering for as soon as Manning leaves whereas I have stuck by my team through both good and bad (I'm talking Jimmy Clausen 2010 bad). Nothing wrong with cheering for Manning but for some people to start beating the chest and talking trash when I haven't heard anything from them all year is annoying...

    Go Panthers and Go Colts!

I wouldn't say that's true for everyone. You don't have to be a fan of only 1 team. My number one team is the Colts. After the Colts, it's the Broncos. And yes, I initially liked the Broncos because of Peyton. However, as I have been following the Broncos, I am now a fan of many of their players. I will still root for the Broncos as my second team even after Peyton retires. I have followed a few teams only because some of my favorite players from the Colts went on to play for them. i.e., I would rather have seen Arizona in the SB since Dwight Freeney is part of the team.

And I've been supporting my second team all season, not only recently because they're in the SB.

As well as beating the Broncos.  And 2 years ago, we beat both Seattle and Denver.  What the Colts did against either team is irrelevant (although it does show that with Luck, we weren't that bad).

Can't see Denver getting close to winning--the Carolina O-line were awesome yesterday--Cam could have smoked a pipe behind them, he had so much time.  And Luke Kuechley is just mind-blowing.

IMO, any team putting up a good fight against any other team isn't irrelevant. You hear it all the time "well, the blueprint for beating (insert team) is". Those "blueprints" are garnered from examples of other team's performances.

Vegas isn't as bold as you as the line is only 4.

The Panthers aren't invincible. They let a poor Atlanta team take away a potentially undefeated season. Nearly let Seattle back in the game and barely beat more than 1 sub-par team during the regular season. I don't see them blowing out Denver. The Panthers may win, but I don't think it will be a blowout.

I can't imagine it being worse than when Peyton played against the Seahawks, but... I have a feeling this one could get just as ugly. Carolina completely dismantled the Cardinals and made life miserable for Carson. If Peyton isn't careful, he could get carried out in a stretcher after what I saw Carson put up with.

Having said that, I'm still glad Denver beat the Pats and I don't have to hear about Brady getting a 5th Superbowl ring, so I could care less.

Carson Palmer didn't help much throwing all those interceptions. I would guess his index finger had something to do with that. I don't think this SB will be one sided, nor am I saying Denver will win. I think it will be competitive, and Denver certainly has a shot to win. Heck, the Colts kept the game close against the Panthers.

  6. That was pretty bad. There are a few players I wouldn't mind going out of a game, but under no circumstances would I be cheering about it (at least, not aloud). Even then (cheering on the inside), I wouldn't like to see anyone seriously hurt.

He said it had something to do with not putting pressure on his son.

I guess naming him Chosen really isn't putting any pressure...

    c'mon man !

LOL, as one article I read suggested...someone asked "Who are you"? He would say "I am Chosen". You can see where it goes from there.

Why the nitpicking on this stuff at times? What he names his child is his own business and he can name him whatever he wants. Just like if he ever wants to dance it up on the field he isn't hurting anyone either.

BTW "Chosen" is not the same as "Chosen One".......

I don't think he is calling his kid Jesus Christ so relax.

As I stated, he has the right to name his child what he wants, I was only expressing my personal opinion of his choice. And of course, he can dance it up on the field, pretend he's Superman, point his finger up in the "1" gesture (I know that's his jersey number, but most would agree that's not what he's referring to), etc. Personally, I prefer a more humble person. Those are attributes of an arrogant person. Arrogance isn't something looked upon positively by most. Also, Chosen isn't the same as Chosen One, but it's easy enough to at least think that's where he's going with the name. There's not one thing about Cam Newton that suggests any sort of humility, a positive character by most accounts.

  9. It's a free world (at least where I live), so name your child what you want. But, naming your child Chosen, IMO, is akin to naming your child Jesus Christ or The Messiah. I don't care how non-arrogant Newton is off the field as many have suggested. This is yet another point suggesting this guy is as arrogant as they come. Again, name your child what you want, but I don't know how anyone can suggest this guy is not full of himself.

says almost always. yes im nitpicking, but its what the report states. I find it hard to believe something partially torn is more painful then something completely torn. im sure if I tore a muscle, it would hurt more if it was completely torn. human body is def interesting

CR91, it's your fault this thread got off subject. :) However, I take partial responsibility for not posting a redirecting response earlier.

There was my original post, 1 appropriate response, then we morphed to "Osweiler vs Peyton" thread.

Neither side of this is "rediculous."

There are pros and cons of starting either guy and a case could be made to start either guy. Any thoughts about it expressed on this forum now are all whatever who is talking wishes. Some people wish Peyton would take this team to the SB without throwing 1 incompletion in the process and some people wish he would die after the first hit (but not before he gets the pick 6 out of his hands and the DB points to him on the way to the endzone). And all people will take that literally because nobody here has any sense of sarcasm.

I certainly agree with this part...

brock can make the throws, peyton cant imo. if youre basing your proof that peyton can still play because he performed well against one of the worst defenses this year with most of the plays being run plays, then youre mistaken. all season long peyton struggled expect vs the packers. other then that one game, it was the defense that won them those games. peyton almost lost to the browns for gods sake

Regardless of what we think, the coach feels Peyton gives the Broncos a better chance as the starter. I really don't think the coach or Elway would risk losing just to let "Peyton ride off into the sunset". If Peyton doesn't hold up, they can go back to Osweiler.

You mean the Browns that only lost by 4 points to KC? As they say "any given Sunday".

gotta feel sorry for him. he didnt do anything to lose his job and once peyton starts throwing ducks and the steelers(im picking them to beat the bengals) bounce the broncos in another one and done playoff run, they'll know they made a mistake.

If Peyton starts throwing ducks, they'll go back to Osweiler (as they should). However, I think the rest is enough to keep Peyton fresh for a couple/few games.
