  1. Peyton is forcing his hand. Irsay would love to make a deal, guarantee a portion of that 28 million in exchange of putting back the "drop dead" date to June. Peyton won't let the Colts doctors look at him and he won't throw in front of the media or the Colts. So if your Jimmy Irsay you have no choice at this point.

From what I understand, he's not allowed to throw in front of the Colts.

  2. 1) Any repsonse from anyone in this thread about the quality of the new staff is a completely uninformed guess.

    2) Because we have never heard of them does not mean they were bad choices. BEcause we have heard of them does not make them good decisions.

    3) Only way to correctly assess this will be to ask the question again January.

Again, I agree we need to see some games before anyone make make a fair assessment, but I don't see anything wrong with soliciting opinions of anyone with more knowledge than myself. Most people seem to feel good about having a Defensive-minded" coach. Surely their feelings or opinions regarding the new coach are there for a reason. What are those reasons? There's nothing wrong with expressing an educated opinion.

  3. It would be premature and unfair to assess the new Colts coaching staff, individually or as a group, before they have had a chance to at least meet the players they will coach. Any review of the new coaches prior work history is bound to be subjective and is no indicator of what they will do with this current Colts team.

I agree to a point, but often talent (coaches or players) is sought after based on previous experience, credentials, performance, etc. However, I agree we don't know what will happen until we get rolling.

  4. The only way this was ever going to make sense is for Peyton to take a REALLY BIG cut in pay. To have even potentially been a compeitive team this year, Peyton would have to take a cut in pay to allow the Colts to re-sign some guys/get some guys.

  5. I just read through a Bleacher Report listing all the new coaches, assistants, etc. Is there anyone out there knowledgeable enough about the staff to suspect any weak links? When I say suspect it would of course be your opinion. I have a hard enough time keeping up with some of the opposing teams players. I have minimal or no knowledge of some of our new staff. Some of their credentials/qualifications don't look so impressive. I claim ignorance, so perhaps my observation is no more than an ignorant opinion.

  6. Thats a weak argument as well because for HOW LONG did the Patriots have the Colts number? As your fellow colt fans will say the QB do not play eachother the Giants team under Eli was better than the Pats team under Brady THAT game.

...and the other 2 games in the 2011 season in which Eli and the Giants beat Brady and the Pats.

  7. Brady was 20/24 for 201yds and 2 td's including the record setting 16 completions in a row before Tuck sacked him and injured his shoulder. Pretty hard to say Eli outplayed Brady in this one. Eli played great and well enough to win but he needed some lucky breaks as well. The Giants fumbled 3 times but were lucky enough to get them all back. Eli wasted 2 timeouts on the same drive in the 4th when the Giants were behind. Manningham makes a spectacular catch (the throw was perfect as well) on the last drive when he's not known for catching that kind of pass near the sideline.

In the end the Giants won. Every team gets "lucky breaks" that's just part of the game. Are you arguing records by individuals or what? All kinds of records happen in many games for many players. It only matters who wins. Each of the Pat's Super Bowl wins was by only 3 points. 1 "lucky break" the other way for the opposing team and it's not a Pat's win. Like I said though, it's all part of the game.

What? I'm not sure what you're trying to say here. Are you saying the Pats have played better than the Colts? I would agree.

As your fellow colt fans will say the QB do not play eachother

I agree with you here too. IMO Peyton is better than Tom Brady. It has nothing to do with the number of rings as that requires the entire team.

the Giants team under Eli was better than the Pats team under Brady THAT game.

You mean the ONLY GAME THAT COUNTS?

  9. Glad to see I am not the only one that sees the irony in a Colts fan using the ringz and wins arguement.

Actually, I meant to add something to my original post. I don't think Eli > Brady. I was playing devil's advocate. Only a few nights before the Super Bowl, I was arguing (in a forum) with a couple of Brady fans that didn't think Peyton was a great QB. They kept pointing out the fact Peyton has "only" 1 ring and Brady has 3. Their only qualification for being a great QB was the number of rings. Winning the Super Bowl is of course a team-effort.

  10. It's not the fact that the Giants have won both SB match-ups against the Pats. It's the fact that Eli straight-up out played Brady.

Eli is a better QB than Brady is at this point in Brady's career. I think Eli might have a bust next to his brother in Canton. How freakin awesome is that?

    That would be cool...

  11. Classy comments, lol. Congrats to the Giants and their fans. I knew we had our work cut out for us. Just wish they didn't always beat us in heartaching, last second fashion, lol.

Probably takes Brady's case for GOAT off the table, but I thought he played tough out there. Not the deer in the headlights look like he had in SB 42. Tough, but those are the breaks. Still no one I'd rather have though. I thought we had no hope this year, and he took us to 13-3 and to the Super Bowl.

A lot of little things, but I think they offset. People will point to the drops, especially Welker's...but I think we got away with that one P.I. If those plays go down as they should have, they're both points and probably offset, so it's a moot point. We just got beat by a better team.

I agree. I believe Brady carrierd your team as Peyton has done for our team for years.
