@ Nadine: Yes, MACs aren't cheap I will admit, but you get what you pay for: A Ferrari [MAC] or a mini van [PC.] When I wrote my Master's thesis in Grad school, I did it all on a MAC with no crash problems or software glitches. I will never go back to a PC again. @FX: I hope that you can successfully load & run Windows 8 my friend. Good Luck!

After doing the install, did you download all available updates? There may have a known problem since corrected.

I installed every update available over night. I am looking into if there is info on an update causing a black screen after login.
