This is a sad day for Colts fan everywhere. A runningback who was showing promise as our starting running with Bradshaw as an ACL tear and is done for the year. This runningback is Vick Ballard. Ballard injured his knee during practice. I was hoping Ballard would get his first career 1,000-yard season for the way he has been running since becoming the starter when Donald Brown went down with an injury and headed to Injured Reserve. I hope Ballard has a speedy recovery and comes back as Adrian Peterson next season.
But, since Ballard is gone for 2013, Kerwynn Williams was elevated to the 53-man roster. If we had a roster spot to fill at runningback, I'm glad it's Williams and that no one signed him when he was released/waived by the Colts. He has good speed and should make a decent replacement and be the 3rd runningback on the depth chart. I guess Bradshaw and Brown will have to be the platoon attack we wanted this year. And there goes all the runningbacks on roster had their last name start with a 'b' and all those nicknames.
