  1. i think Doug’s point was. 1st round picks not being allpro players,Leonard was a 2nd round pick. He gave him credit for his non 1st round picks.
  2. there is straight line speed, and there is quick speed. Big athletes can be very fast in a straight line, but not shifty quick. Shifty is how you avoid the big hits and injuries. If you want a running qb, I wouldn’t take a big qb, no mater how fast he runs the 40! He will probably be injury prone.
  3. When fans are saying a young will be better with time at several aspects of playing qb, it usually doesn’t happen. Fans are always hopeful their team has drafted a top qb and will make those excuses, only to be dissapointed. Then they blame the gm or coach.
  4. I have said many times befor, too many colts lb’s make tackles 5+ yards down field. A lot of those tackles is not how you judge a top lb! It’s been a weak spot for the colts for a long time. The colts haven’t had a top lb for many years except for a couple years with Leonard. I think he was a 2nd round pick, you have to invest high picks to have a better chance to get a top performer. The colts just haven’t done that at lb and it shows.
  5. and 99% of the forum gm’s here wanted another reciever to replace pierce. It’s like betting on sports, go opposite of the masses and you will do well!
  6. you are willing to loose for 4 years? Not me!
  7. im just happy they have a qb that can make plays and doesn’t give games away! Refs have always made bad calls, some for and some against. I don’t dwell on them.
  8. I just posted pretty much the same thing in another thread. If the colts didn’t have a lot of talent, you can live with him learning and loosing on the job, but I think the colts have playoff talent and shouldn’t be throwing the season away on the hope he turns into a top qb.
  9. I don’t see the Richardson, luck, manning comparisons! Luck and manning were proven qb’s in college and were thought of as can’t miss picks. Richardson was a complete reach based only on physical talent. Forget stats, you were pretty sure manning and luck understood all the aspects of being a qb, they just had to adjust to the higher level of competition. Richardson has to learn everything about being a nfl qb, without even mastering being a college qb. There have been other qb’s that have learned watching a vetran qb and getting reps in practice against pro players. I think Richardson supporters are just making excuses for his poor performance.
  10. I didn’t like the pick when it was made, would have gone lb, dt, or trade down and see what qb drops in the draft. You just don’t take that raw of a qb talent that high in the draft, it’s just not a smart thing to do. I thought he should have been playing more in the preseason to get experience, didn’t happen. I thought he should be picking Joe Flacco’s brain on the sidelines in the preseason, didn’t happen. I hope I’m wrong, but I have a bad feeling about him being a good nfl qb. Other starting qb’s have learned sitting on the bench a couple years behind a good qb, I don’t see why he can’t also. I would play Flacco and make the playoffs!
  11. I have been saying for a long time the colts need to move on from him. There weren’t many here that agreed with this the last couple years.
  12. We will just have to disagree. I constantly see him make tackles 5 yards down field.
  13. Franklin had 3 tackles for loss last year and they were all shared qb sacks. Not one rb tackled behind the los. That isn’t acceptable from a lb! And they are bad at pass defense. I have been wanting him replaced for years.
  14. Not just one, I have been saying this for years!
  15. I guess you think making tackles 5 yards down field playing well because that’s what they have always done.
