Why?  If he truly didn’t do anything wrong why wouldn’t the Colts bring him back?

From what I’ve seen from the front office dealing with external issues. Just doesn’t seem in his favor to return. I could be wrong but i think they will definitely look further into the situation especially with domestic violence being a MAJOR concern in the NFL.

Yeah I get that. But arranging interviews with multiple teams, even if you’re not working out, and then missing them without any communication to said teams is a very bad look and I doubt Marv Sr would tell him to do that.

We don’t know that he doesn’t plan on still meeting with those teams. Either at the pro day or virtually.

Without notice to teams he’d agreed to interviews with. And no notice to media scheduled to interview him either.

    that’s not a good look for a potential top 5 pick…

while it was widely reported he wouldn’t work out or doin anything physical, he did agree to a number of interviews with various teams. And scheduled a media interview

He’s undoubtedly the #1 receiver in this years class and the offspring to one of Indy’s greats. He’s also not hired a manager and will be going through this process on his own. I’m sure he consulted with his dad before he made any rash decisions.

My thing with Worthy is he’s just too small.

Zay Flowers and Josh Downs were considered small last season - especially for a Colts WR. Worthy is 10 lbs lighter than Downs and 20 lbs lighter than Flowers…

No doubt he’s fast and all than, but… is he even going to survive his first NFL season lol?

Ty did just fine, be smart and protect your body.

The colts I feel wouldn’t block it if Colter wanted to interview or take the job. I just don’t see him wanting to go there.

If a guy wants a promotion they would probably let him take it. Calling plays does give him more say in the offense.

Where are you seeing it being a promotion? He would be leaving one OC position to go to another. It’s the same position just a different organization.

As you all know, he was fired today and my first thought would be is that he was a very strong defensive coordinator with a lot of energy. Makes me wonder if Ballard is considering him. just a thought for conversation.

I’m sure he wants to be a HC not take a step back.

Roquan and Queen are significantly better in coverage though. So if you are bad in coverage and are missing tackles, that makes you replaceable.

That’s a reach both are not known for their coverage abilities both are known for being run stoppers. Both of them combined have 1 interception on the season. Smith has 8 passes defended, Queen has 5, Zaire has 6. Numbers do not lie.

He's an absolute liability in coverage and has had a ton of missed tackles (despite leading the league in tackles). I wouldn't draft 2 LBs though, just one. Assuming he passes medicals, Payton Wilson would be an absolute monster LB for us. Amazing in coverage, great in the run game, but can be a little too overaggressive at times.

As I mentioned above, the pure stats don't tell the whole story, as Franklin has shown to miss a lot of tackles.

Let’s get one thing straight, you can’t make every tackle, the person across from him is a PROFESSIONAL as well. He’s made far more tackles than he has missed. Compare his numbers to the likes of RoQuan and Queen from the Ravens (both made the pro bowl) and his are far more impressive. Is he a coverage allstar? No but the guy simply makes plays.

Every one has flaws. EVERYONE. No one is perfect. Not you, not me, not Peyton Manning, Not Tom Brady. No player is without flaws. The question is whether those flaws matter or not.

Pittman is very good. But he’s built in similar ways to Reggie Wayne. He’s a solid possession WR. But the flaw is in his route running, Reggie could get open more consistently even early on in his career, Pittman needs to develop that ability and be more consistent. If he can, he would be even better.

He’s no where near built in the same ways as Reggie Wayne lol. Reggie Wayne is 6’0 played around 195-200lbs and ran a 4.45.

Pitt is 6’4 plays around 220-225lbs and ran a 4.52.

Reggie Wayne was a Route technician he learned from one of the best in Marvin Harrison. He also had enough speed to burn you deep. Reggie didn’t become a “possession” receiver until the later end of his career when he lost a step or two. In his prime he was Dynamic.

I mean in some ways I don't blame him, he's had a different QB throwing to him every year. He may want to go to a team with a solid QB like the chiefs, although I don't think there is anyway we let him walk.

I agree, he could very well see what his market value is and the Colts can match that or choose to Franchise him.

If he leaves we may need to draft two wrs

Doubt it , they will most definitely sign someone in FA.

"“I made it this far, so I’ve loved my four years here. But I wouldn’t be doing my due diligence if I didn’t explore every option and find the best fit,” Pittman said, via Stephen Holder of ESPN.com""

He also mentioned that he didn’t feel like he was being utilized to the best of his abilities. Would love to be used downfield more. As well as he had to go to Shane and demand more targets. So that is why he is exploring his options he doesn’t know that this offense is exactly ideal for him he would like to see what else is out there. I don’t blame him , but it would suck to lose Pitt.

that is the most meaningless stat. His tackles are mostly 5-10 yards down field and can’t cover anyone.

    I do like speed.

We can agree to disagree as being able to tackle is a very important technique in the game of football as a defensive player.

I don’t think pitman should get #1wr money and if he does, let another team pay him. I don’t agree with the we need another #1wr, did Houston have two yesterday? It’s the qb, not the wr’s! If he signs for reasonable contract wr isn’t a top priority. The worst part of the defense is lb and should draft two in the upper rounds depending on who is available. A dual purpose te is needed in the upper rounds also. That would help the passing and rushing game. A lot of good wr’s come out every year and the colts could get one in the middle rounds. I think the d-line is ok and would look better with a more aggressive defense. I don’t want minshew back as qb and saving a lot of money, so a qb in the middle rounds is a must. I think I would rather have ehlinger, they must see something in him if they have kept him around this long.

Zaire literally lead the NFL in tackles so why are you suggesting two LBs?

Even though tonight was a tough way to lose I still think this team accomplished way more than I thought in year 1 with a rookie QB and Coach. Looking ahead this team has 70 million in cap space and will have multiple players coming back including AR, Blackmon and  Dallis Flowers. Pittman is guaranteed to be back as well.

Looking ahead to the draft and free agency what are some things the Colts should do to improve and build off this year?

Blackmon nor Pittman is not guaranteed to be back both are free agents and haven’t been extended yet. It’s possible they will receive new contracts but nothing is solidified yet.

    MHJ, Thomas, Nabers, Odunze, Franklin

Which ever one of those are available at 15 we draft him.  I don’t care which one it is.  I find it highly unlikely that we won’t be able to grab one of these first round graded WR1s.

We need a WR that can continuously get open past the sticks.  Badly.  And not one that can only run streaks (ex.  Alec Pierce)

No way Marvin Harrison Jr. Slides to 15. He may not even declare for the draft. There is a lot of buzz about him going back to OSU. He will likely make more money with the NIL than his rookie contract.

Goodson is (supposedly) the best receiving back. I’m sure they ran that package in practice with him.

Bad pass, but he still should have caught it.

    Perfect play call.

He had 6 receptions all year, idk how he’s considered the better receiving back. I’ve seen Miss make some IMPECCABLE catches. Would’ve rather him or JT for that matter.
