  1. I'm hoping to find a message board home once the season starts. Giants is really dull right now - not a lot to talk about after a superbowl win. Here, I try to stay to myself in NFL general and it still turns into a battle about Luck/Manning/Irsay. Over at the Broncos board every single thread dissolves into an argument about Tebow. I'm like Peyton sleeping at the Denver complex - in between homes. :)

  2. So it's OK to wear past players' jerseys to games, but it is not OK to wear future players' jerseys to games? How does wearing any team jersey to games indicate that you are not supporting the team? I thought these jerseys are quite expensive, and the team profits from the sale of them.

I could wear a team jersey with FROG on the back and the number 99 on it. How is this not supporting the team?

I could wear a team jersey with Griffin III on the back and the number 10 on it. How is this not supporting the team?

I could wear a team jersey with Luck on the back and the number 12 on it. How is this not supporting the team?

You know darn well it's because Luck hadn't been drafted yet and the only way to draft him was to suck badly enough to be the worst team in the league.

  3. So let me understand this correctly.

    1) It is not disrespectful to current players on the team by wearing non-current player jerseys.....but

    2) It is considered disrespectful to current players on the team by wearing non-current player jerseys?

Forgive me, but I think I am sensing a little of the goose./gander thing here.

It's ok to wear jerseys of past players - honoring history. To wear a jersey of a player who has not yet played for the team is an indication that you aren't supporting the current cast.

  4. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh:

Are you being sarcastic or did you really want to keep him? No one else seems to know who he is.

  5. Safety Stevie Brown just signed with the Giants. They say he played 8 games with the Colts last year before being IR'd. Any thoughts on him? Good pickup for the Giants?

  6. 1) You do not know if the parameters include the pay-as-you-go terms similar to the contract he signed with the Broncos. You do not know if any other team (besides the Broncos) offered a contract for PM to review.

    2) What I want is irrelevant. What I want has nothing to do with the truth. It seems many fans have difficulty with separating what they want from reality.

And I have the same exact thought about you. You don't know Peyton's health or lack thereof any better than the rest of us, yet you grab onto anything that might indicate he can't play. we have to wait and see.

  7. 1) Yes, PM has indeed said right along that he's not 100%. Unfortunately some people tend to disregard that in many threads I have read.

What is equally important, is that when he said that if there was a game now, yes he could play, and that he would not play as well as expected.

Heck, if there was a game now, I could play too, and the quality of my play would be horrible.

    2) You don't know what the terms of any other contract may have been. You don't even know if any other contract was offered to PM before he made his decision to go with the Broncos.

Actually, Schefter and Mort reported that all the teams were working with the same perameters on a financial deal.

You just seem to want him to not be getting better.

  8. After an emotional farewell news conference in Indianapolis on the seventh, Manning spent an hour with 30 longtime Colts employees. "Maintenance, secretaries, equipment guys, everybody who'd been there a long time," he said. "Some guys leave a place after a long time, and they're bitter. Not me. But it was important for me to get closure."

What a thoughtful and classy guy. During a difficult time for him, he thought of others and took the time to say thanks and so long!

I've also seen where the Denver press has been so impressed b/c he has taken the time to know their names already and also introduces himself when he meets them.

  9. I've only been to Cleveland, Bills, and the old Giants stadium. Giants was nicest out of those 3, but none were fancy like the new stadiums coming in. I find the Bills stadium to have seats that are too small for some people. It's kind of squished. Very loyal fans, though and they weren't nasty to me for wearing Giants stuff. Cleveland fans were nasty to me for wearing a Giants hat - even though their opponent was the Chargers that day. I was just cold and needed a hat.
