  1. Id love it. Always liked him. But I don’t see how that happens? The Colts only have $12m + and I don’t see tight end as the position where the Colts spend the most in free agency. This is the least cap space any Chris Ballard team has ever had at the start of free agency by far. I know the Colts will make moves, but until they do, I don’t know what the Colts will do?
  2. Again…. You are free to list all of my whoppers any time. I’m happy to admit when I’m wrong because I’m wrong plenty. You can make this discussion public…. Or private. Your call. I’ll likely be off line for a few hours.
  3. You’re free to list all of my bad takes in any thread you want. Make it as public as you want. Or…. You can make it private. That’s fine too. I’ll be happy to point out your recent whopper.
  4. That’s what happens when you make false arguments. And you’ve made a number of them these last few days.
  5. Why would I count Speed? He’s not on the team currently. I want him back, but it’s not a lock that he returns. I don’t know why you do count Speed? As soon as the Colts announce they’ve re-signed him THEN you can count on him. Otherwise…………
  6. Was. Was. Was. Bobby is no longer on the team and you just him as as an example of the Colts depth. Huh? And Speed is a free agent. He’s not depth until he re-signs with the Colts. Huh? Who else?
  7. Please list the Colts linebackers that show they have depth. I’ll get you started…. Leonard Franklkn And…….
  8. Good for Bobby. And maybe even good for the Colts. This should be a decent comp pick for the Colts next year. I’d guess a 4 or 5?
  9. Denver just signed Jarrett Stidham as the new backup. Bennett would be QB3.
  10. That’s it? 2/11? Thats stunning to me. I’ve seen Long’s name in so many stories as a player who would be in demand. And Tenn didn’t re-sign him?!? I confess, I didn’t see this one coming. Unless Long just wanted to leave and play for a hot fast rising team?
  11. You want to take a shot at the Colts because they didn’t sign a backup level OT? Really? I like Dillard. Always have. But he can’t stay healthy and doesn’t start and doesn’t play at a high level. It’s not like the Colts don’t have coaches from Philly who have inside info on those players. Wouldn’t you think Steichen is OK with not signing him? Honestly, I’m not even sure the Colts should sign Seamaulo? He has a long bad history of injuries. Free agency is not just about Ballard and what he wants. Steichen has a voice in this as well.
  12. Losing Facyson rates a “wow” ??? Based on people here, I thought most would be celebrating?!
  13. I’ll go out on a limb and say the Raiders won’t be trading up to 3 with Arizona to draft a quarterback.
  14. When Ballard has spent money in free agency (rare, but not never) he has spent it well. Justin Houston, Stephon Gilmore, Denico Autry. Id like to see him do it more often. But he’s almost never in the first wave of signings. Even the three names I mentioned were not early, in fact Houston and Gilmore were in April. I’m not expecting him to change and suddenly spend big money. I only wish he’d sign more of the medium and inexpensive players than he normally does.
  15. Huh? The Colts sign free agents every year. Just not typically in the first few weeks.
  16. Im a DJ fan, but I think that perspective is beyond lame. Very disappointing.
  17. While I have a moment, and it’s still early…. Wanted to give a shout-out and a big thank you to @Shive for being so fast with the tweets! Don't know how long you can do this, but it’s very much appreciated.
  18. That’s what he’s done every year. This year is likely no different.
  19. Yes, agreed. Too many posters here think a young quarterback is all he’s going to be after year 2. That a young QB won’t improve much more. Quite often, the opposite is true.
  20. Sorry…. I may have misunderstood you…. If your new argument is that 2017 Brissett was better than 2022 Fields, I would disagree. Because the passing stats were similar, but Fields ran for more than 1100 yards. What I don’t understand is this…. I believe you’re a supporter of the Colts taking Richardson? Fields is now where the Colts would hope Richardson would be in two years. And that’s if things go well. I believe Fields will get better when he’s surrounded by better talent. Fields was a much better passer at Ohio State when he had better talent. So I think he still has plenty of upside.
  21. Actually…. He wasn’t. There’s only one category where Brissett was better in 17 than he was in 22. Total passing yards. And that’s because JB started 15 games in 2017, but only started 11 games last year for the Browns. That’s because DeShaun Watson came back to start the final 5 games of the 22 season. Otherwise, Brissett’s completion percent jumped 5 points from 59 to 64. All I’m saying is these comparisons can get very tricky.
  22. You’re comparing Jacoby Brissett, now with 7 seasons experience, with a top OL, one of the best running game, and good receivers to….. Justin Fields, now with TWO years experience, with a bad OL, a poor running game, and not very good receivers…. Anyone else see a problem with this comparison?
  23. Not to be argumentative, but while Fields is young, he’s neither proven nor a franchise quarterback. He’s a promising young quarterback who most think is capable of being better. The question is how much better? Fields is not yet a good passer. The key word there is: yet. If the Colts trade for him it’s because Steichen thinks he can turn him into one. Put another way, if the Colts trade for him, it’s not so he can be the player he already is, it’s to turn him into the player we’d like him to become. Big difference. If Steichen wants him and the price is reasonable, I’m on board. I’m not anti-Fields. Final thought…. Former GM Mike Tannenbaum said this week that in Fields’ two years he has a total of 140 combined interceptions, fumbles and sacks. Most of all QBs by far. That’s a sobering stat. How much of that is Fields and how much is due to a crappy Bears team around him only the experts know. But it’s certainly food for thought….
  24. I don’t think Chicago would trade Fields for this package. I’d be curious what Steichen thinks of him.
