A RB who just tore his acl..you ain't getting a thing for him.
Unless you're trading an aging star (Mathis), we have nothing.
-
Other than our important stars, we have nothing to trade. Bug name guys have been cut because no one will trade anything for them.
We don't have much teams want.
-
I think you basically hope the 2nd/3rd picks workout because odds are 5/6/7 are longshots to ever contribute.
This will be an important udfa draft for us because we don't have many picks.
Don't mortgage next years picks, start clean again with all our picks and make moves if need be next year and use those to move around the draft. Go the udfa route and bite the bullet (lack of picks).
-
The one basic premise that I think is pretty concrete is if you're not in the top 10 and want to get there, it will basically take your entire draft, possibly even some from the next year.
Getting into the first if you only have a second will cost you most of your draft, but not all of it.

Putting aside George's obvious flaws in terms of being a team guy. Guy had terrible decision making most times. That was his real downfall. He had that Favre gunslinger mentality, but with much worse decision making then Brett.
The guy also wasn't a tough guy like Peyton or Andrew (mentally in a game that is), not able to overcome adversity like those two do. When things were going well, he'd be just good enough to win, but if they started going south, look out.
Those were some of the reasons for the lopsided wins. I was a teen at the 10-6 win against NYJ at the meadowlands. That team was truly schizophrenic because you never knew which team would show up.

Great college RB, not so much in the pros. Harbaugh would have gotten him reps if he was capable. Gore isn't Adrian Peterson.

yeah, i get what you're saying. But when was the last career ending injury for a center?
But i think we can all agree, Mack wants out of Cleveland. Who doesn't?
Funny you mentioned the line about a C having a career ending injury. Pretty sure it was actually Cleveland with Lecharles Bentley. Career ender first snap of camp after signing for huge money when he left New Orleans.
Just thought it was interesting to add after your comment.

I give him credit for being a stand up guy, but his receiving skills were brutal. Pretty tough being a WR when you literally can't catch.
-
Nothing wrong with flare or going against the norm. That's what brought us groups like the Beatles and guys like Elvis. Many hated Joe Namath at the time as well.
In the end when talking about anything in life, Al Davis had it right, just win baby.
No one will care in the end if the results are positive, whether its life, sports or entertainment. If Luck had Deion Sanders' attitude and brought home a Lombardi, no one would care or mention it.

Reggie has stated he wants comeback player of the year, I give him the benefit of the doubt because he's earned it. He'll come back strong anyway, speed hasn't exactly been his bread and butter. He hasn't lost his route running ability.
He's torn his acl before so I think he has an edge compared to someone dealing with a first time injury. Reggie will be back for I'd guess minimum 2 years, max 3.
-
It was his Achilles, not acl.
Not sure what he's got left at his age though.

Having a guy who has trouble catching the ball responsible for KO's probably isn't a smart idea.
-
Who??? Oh that guy.

Nice view for that butt whooping Silenthill. , but I've been accustom to high prices for every event I've ever seen. A couple hundred really isn't bad to most likely see Manning's only game ever as a visitor. Also remember getting an ache in my placket the year we opened against NYG (SB season if I'm not mistaken?).
Folks in Indy have it good, even if they have to use secondary sources. Don't complain.
Recently went to a Mets game for $75 a ticket, could have gotten cheaper, but you get the point, even a crappy Met game isn't cheap.
I really hope we kick their you know what, I don't want PM winning against us for some strange reason. It will bother me more than a regular loss.
-
$200/300 for this type of game doesn't seem to bad. Living on the east coast tickets are never really low for an important game in any sport, but I'd think its pretty easy to put away a few bucks each week for a couple weeks regardless of finances.
Paid $100 a ticket to watch Luck and Co stink it up here in NY last year.
This is one I'm definitely coming in for. I just hope we don't get schooled by the old man.

Quite honestly, I'm on the fence. I love the first new mock put up; however, I do love the class, tradition, and identity that the uni's symbolize. The thing is though, I don't think I have a vote since no one will be asking us anyways . I am quite confident that as long as Irsay owns the colts, the uni wont change (other than subtle color alterations lol).
Its just one of those things that don't need changing. You can't improve the wheel so you leave it alone. Brands like Tiffany will never change their logo to change things up. Another simple example is why doesn't McDonald's change the golden arches logo? It identifies them as the blue shoe with white does for us.
-
Fear not all you new uni crowd... Nike will force something down our throats soon enough.
I love these... I would not mind the HS being removed all together.... put a # on one side...
Thankfully the franchise has final say, not Nike. So Irsay will keep what works.
-
You don't mess with tradition. Ask a team like the Yankees if they care about alternative Jerseys. Has nothing to do with being old school, its what identifies your franchise. My vote is not a chance in hell.
-
Oh lord. Lets wait for year 2 first. If we go 6-10 does Manning swing back to first?
Let's win something first.
-
Still remember the Notre Dame homers singing his praises when he got here. He was slow footed and terrible. He should stick to boxing.
-
People seem to get hung up on $$ per year, if the contract is structured properly you can always have an out with a minimal hit if you structure properly. As some have said, smart accounting can go a long way in free agency.
-
I'm personally not afraid of all the Ray Lewis nonsense. He hasn't played in a couple months, he wont have the impact of say a QB coming back to a team.
All the pressure is on Baltimore, none on us. If Indy keeps it close, Baltimore might get tight allowing us to pull through in the end.
All the folks mentioning Lucks Int's have to also look at his last month. He hasn't been turning the ball over much at all.
Win or lose, we are in a great position for the future, but don't go counting this as an automatic L, you might look stupid Sunday night after the game. We have been the 'hands down' favorite in many games in past postseasons. How'd some of those turn out?
-
He worked out for the NYG last week and wasn't offered a contract. He'll always have a spot in our hearts, but looks like he's done.

Bold statement...we're not gonna just lose, we're gonna REALLY lose.
Breaking: Josh Gordon Facing Suspension

Funny how much fans know about anything NFL related.
Last years 'Lets trade a 1st for Gordon' threads sound kind of funny now.
