Squeak out 17-13. I don't see this o being quick out of the gate.

So a player who gets injured is a busted pick? He had no history of injuries before he was drafted so it's Grigson's fault? Sounds just like something you would say.
Busted pick....pick that didn't work out...Not sure where you got all the extra filler from.
-
Sadly another busted pick. Just couldn't stay on the field to prove his worth.
This secondary is trending towards bad. Simply because they'll be forced to use scrubs as guys start to get injured during the season.
-
That's honestly not the norm. We were very very very....blessed.
I still remember being in shock when any of those guys occasionally missed ONE game. It was crazy talk.
All comes down to hitting on late round and udfa guys mixing one or two legit RD 1 linemen to solidify it.

If Glover-Wright makes the team, I quit the team.
Not a fan either. That's a dumb or dumberer type pick. Not many of the young CB's inspire. Granted they're young, but if they see long stretches of time they'll get exposed when the real season starts.
-
The secondary is most worrisome to me. Not basing it off of this game, couldn't get the stream. But if/when injuries occur, they could be really bad, other then Vontae we aren't scaring anyone on the back end of the D.
The young guys have to play above their experience levels for us to be an acceptable D.
Totally agree on red zone identity. Sometimes we sputter in ugly fashion down there.
Appreciate the write up JPF.

Is is as useless as your comment about it?
Not sure why you got butt hurt over a simple comment. Pretty early to talk ROY when we've played zero games total.
-
Talk about a useless writeup. How about he plays in a real game first?

They may be better once they get off their couches then our pro starters we have now.
I'll give you that one. Let's hope they can sort (some of) the problems out before Detroit.
I'd definitely look into any options, I just think those type guys (old, injured, unsigned) won't be of any assistance two weeks before the season.
-
Castonzo is one who's got me worried. The guy has looked terrible at times.
Not good from our supposed top lineman.
-
I want help as much as the next person, but those guys aren't going to help us at all. They've been on their couches and we're a few days from live action.
-
So is Mewhort really only out a few weeks? Honestly don't care to read people's arguments anymore...
The 'initial report' part is what's still scaring me.

He got close and did play 16 last year im pretty sure.
You assume not even a full year later he has completely fallen off an athletic cliff?
In all fairness, that's usually how it happens. Production falls off greatly. Plus he's near 3000 carries, that's literally ancienti in RB terms.
Polian always said 2000 carries is the usual expiration date for a RB.
-
This'll be one of our biggest weaknesses. We'll most definitely have to scheme pressure. I don't see a double digit sack player on our team this year.
I'd say Mathis with a handful.
-
I love the guy, but if P is our biggest injury concern I think we're doing ok so far.
-
Without reading the article, I'm just going to assume he means we will do right by him and pay him accordingly. No low balling or crazy clauses being put in his contract.
Along the lines of 'we took care of you now go play football'...Nothing more.
-
If they're better then what was there last year, they can start 5 new across the line and I'm ok with that.
-
Hopefully the organization can help him with conditioning and motivation in general.
Every player is motivated by money, his next contract will make him really rich. Not saying his salary is chump change. Simply stating if his problems are solvable with a competent organization, we could potentially see a very good interior lineman (keeping him motivated with money as his goal), something you can never have enough of.
Obviously an optimistic prediction, but I also agree he looks solid so I'm hopeful.
It'd be a huge help for plans going forward to have found a legit inside guy later on the draft if he pans out.
-
Irsay would be correct though if you weigh the Colts as two teams (offense and defense), Andersoni is huge in that he seemed on the cusp of being a disruptive impact player. Most rookies aren't impact guys, heck, must aren't even disruptive and Andersonw was doing really well at one and on his way to the other (potentially) and had basically played half a season.
Most on D are solid, but no one is great or looks to potentially one day be great. VD is very good, but I've always thought he's a bit overrated. Not saying it in a bad way at all.
I equate his comments to that of an owner who drafts a rookie RB who gets to 1K yards in his 7th or 8th game and then suffers an acl. He knows he could potentially have a game changer, but will now have to wait.
As to if he's literally one of our best two you'd probably have to say no, but he's pretty up there in our future plans.
Apologies for the rant...the brownies.

Without bringing in my bias hatred for certaint teams, franchises I couldn't care less about if they were ever removed from the league.
SD
CLE
ATL
CAR
HOU
JAX
BUF
Even though some are older teams, the newer teams bother me like the NBA newer teams (Grizzlies, Raptors) do.
I don't have much love for expansion teams.
I so wish they wouldn't have put us in the AFC South. 3 of the 4 teams are essentially new teams, regardless if Tenn technically isn't. And the 4th team (us) has a long storied past.
-
Based on early results you can clearly see Anderson was going to become a player until he got hurt. Now that becomes questionable if he doesn't return as the player he was. Not everyone comes back from knee injuries regardless of age.
Luck, don't even need to mention him.

Thank you, and 'YES!' to your post.
From day 1, when Grigs and Pags took over they preached 'to win in this league you have to run the ball and stop the run.' To date, our biggest consistent weakness has been the OL under their tenure -- we now have a new OL coach and we seem to finally have addressed the OL! Arguably our second biggest consistent weakness during this tenure has been the DL -- and with Art Jones coming back (and hopefully a healthy Anderson), with the addition of Hassan Ridgeway, we might finally have a very good DL.
Perhaps we will finally be able to do the things that were set out with the initial goals.
I also feel people are underestimating the new strength and conditioning coach we got from Mia. We've been a consistently injured team yearly and he gets high praise, even winning awards at his position from the league.
We drafted a bunch of big guys who will now be working out with one of the best in the league
-
Not sure why anyone would be annoyed at these oline picks.
We tried to put below average patchwork lines out there the last few years and it's absolutely failed.
We now have young big talent to battle it out. I also don't get why some think there's no way some of these rooks don't start. It isn't like they have Orlando Pace and Joe Thomas type guys in front of them.
They've got a longtime nfl vet like Philbin who will have several months to work with them and our new strength and conditioning guy is supposedly one of the best in the biz.
I don't buyt the whole 'these guys can't help us in 2016'....of course they can if you have the right coaches and programs in place.

That's not the kind of thinking we need to have. What we need is a game wrecking freak OLB who puts up double digit sacks every season.
Because those guys are so easy to find.
