Maybe not the sexist pick, but protecting your main investment is always a smart thing.
I'm totally good with this pick.

Opening day. Hoping for a win, went to 2 last year and lost both...

If they can get Stephen A. Smith off of ESPN next, I'd start watching their programming
Why?? Who doesn't love a guy who talks as though you're a mile away even though you're right next to him..
He's obnoxiously loud.
-
I'm happy even though I never watched the guy, but have seen his annoying segments...I watched him a bit during a few of his.....RG is way better then AL shortly after the draft that year....
How'd that workout buddy??...lol

I mean, I'd be mad. But I'd also play my role. If I'm him and I've had plenty of time to prove myself as a starter and haven't, that's my fault. I'm still thankful I'm getting paid 30 whatever million to play a game.
It's honestly mind boggling, he's sadly one of the better paid QB's.
Only thing I can think of is that he's truly delusional and thinks he's a franchise guy. He's probably got an ego being a former number 1, but he needs to recognize he's not a top tier player, but is still paid like one.
-
Is he even considered nfl news??
Bro, go away and try to do something else with your time because you blew any NFL job opportunity years ago (player or organization wise).
Just stop man....it's over

Haven't cared about broadcasters since the last 3 who hosted MNF during my childhood in the 80's/90's (Al, Frank, Dan).
I honestly could watch with no sound at this point, I usually do when Simms/Nance do our games.

nope.
his first round picks were- luck, werner, traded a year early for TR, and dorsett
it is a little sad that two of them are gone, and dorsett hasnt done much yet
I figured i'd ask but I don't remember him doing it, so going on his resume so far we'll pick at 18...probably
-
Have we ever traded back in the first with Grigs?
I would, but would totally understand if they didn't want to drop more then a few spots.
-
When it comes to the Hoodie you just honestly never know. I respect and hate the guy, but I could easily see them go 4-0 just because it's them.
I hope they go 0-4 and lose by an average of 40 in each game...

Well he had a full year off to recover from his achilles and hopefully allowed the rest of his body to recover a bit, too.
It was unquestionable that he got stronger and better as the year went on last year and he got more into the flow of games and got some strength/game speed/conditioning back. Keep in mind this was with an injured Henry Anderson, no Art Jones, etc.... I'd like to think with a healthy group in front of him, he would have performed at a higher level, too.
I don't think we're going to see him 'fall off a cliff', but think instead we'll see him have a 10-15 sack season.
I hope so as well, but at 35, I'm thinking it's not going to happen honestly.
There's also no other threat to get him freed up anymore. 25 year old Dfree isn't coming to town anytime soon on the other end of the line.
I'd change my tune if we got a legit threat on the other side in the draft. But I wouldn't expect him to take on double teams like he used to.
Can't argue the fact he's ancient in terms of football years. I wouldn't 'expect' those high sack #'s like most are throwing out. I'd be shocked.
The #'s are a few years old, but two examples of all time elite guys totally falling off at ages 35 and 36 are Jason Taylor and Strahan. They sucked honestly. Sure you can say White or Smith were solid in their late 30's, but Robert isn't on that level.
Hoping for a 20 sack season, but odds are he'll slow down, how much is the question?
-
As has been mentioned, this guy has absolutely cashed in while in the nfl and has been an absolute bust in terms of that #1 pick status.
He really has no legs on this one. He's lucky his career hasn't been relegated to permanent back-up status around the league.

He had 7 last year while missing a game and only starting in 10 games. He was being used more and getting stronger/better as the year progressed.
They say Monachino is the coach who revived Terrell Suggs' career.
I don't think it'd be unrealistic at all for him to get over 10 sacks this year, if he stays healthy.
1 hour ago, Chucklez said:I feel ya with the 35 comment.,but the dude had 7 sacks in the 2nd half of last season alone after he was healthy and in game shape... Don't count him out just yet.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying count on more or that he will get more. I'm just saying dont be surprised if he does.
It's totally a guess on all of our opinions, but he's going into year 14. That's huge mileage for a DE/OLB.
Don't forget the old saying...pass rushers don't slow down with their production, they usually fall off a cliff.
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't expect much honestly.
-
I honestly don't see it. He's 35 and bounce back years don't usually happen at his age.
I'd say 5-7 would be awesome for him at this stage.
-
This'll be a tough year I think to judge because it seems teams might keep jumping up like the recent top teams that traded to the top of the draft.
I could see a run of teams jumping up because they're surprised someone is dropping.
Total guess for me would be top OLB then best DT available.
-
No idea if he'd want to coach, but the guy has position coach written all over him. He's that scary type of dude you'd be afraid to let down because he could literally kick your butt..
Players and coaches both seem to love him wherever he's gone..
-
No problem adding D help, guys are guaranteed to get injured every year.
Besides, they are nowhere near the point where you'd say 'wow, why'd they add more talent to that dominant line?'....
-
This guy has bought into his media hype. No one knew this guy his first few years in the league.
Carolina will be fine. My personal opinion is that he looked better because of the team he was on.
If you're a CB away from being legit and have money to spend, here's your guy, but no way you break the bank on this guy.

I was with you LD up until your last sentence. It's like a handsome rich guy saying "It's such a burden being the only wealthy single guy in my zip code. Oh well, all these trophies to take home at my leisure." Now, trophies can either mean pretty eye candy or multiple division trophies. Take your pick.
In all seriousness, Houston has won a couple of AFC South Division crowns themselves. Let's not forget that.
I do agree though that more evenly matched division foes can only help us in the playoffs LD moving forward.
Nice quote you had there, I did like that.
Pretty sad honestly (for Texan fans ) that 2 of those division titles we lost recently our QBs were out.
You have to agree it's been a while since you've hated Jax and Tenn.
Division games last few years haven't had that same 'panache'. Definitely hated Jax during Leftwich's and early in Garrard's run. Also hated McNair and Vince Young in their runs with TN.
I will gladly accept the division crowns either way though, rivalries or not.
-
Not for nothing though, going to London from Indy isn't like going to China or somewhere in the far east.
I think the London factor gets overblown for teams.
They aren't traveling by boat or anything like that.
-
I honestly hope everyone does get better.
I feel like being so dominant for so long has been a detriment to us in regard to being exposed and usually beaten when we face tougher teams outside the division. Sometimes beaten badly.
Everyone getting better will force us to keep up.
I've also hated having no true rivalries for a while now in the South.
-
These lists are always terrible. Obviously can't take into account who is actually playing. No one thought playing us was an easy win last year, until we lost our best player for most of the year of course.
I do fully expect a close loss to SD and the usual Pitt beating.
-
There isn't and won't be any drama. Jim will be cutting Andrew a check for 50+M pretty soon.
That kind of $$$ cures anything (even though there's nothing bad between #12 and the Colts).
-
I think a whole lot of old fashioned luck has to do with it.
Almost every athlete is healthy and strong, but if someone falls onto a knee or ankle or whatever body part you'd like to include, bad things usually happen. Health is a crapshoot, guys like Manning and Brady are the exception, rarely missing games.
We've already seen Luck miss time with a lacerated organ...who would've bet he'd ever encounter that type of injury?
Tons of factors, but luck is huge.
Trade up to get Myles Jack?

I'm thinking he must have fallen off many boards and they're concerned about his knee.
Nfl network said he left Chicago and flew home.
I'd guess he'd stick around if their were rumors of teams interested in rd 2 or 3 tonight.
