I am hopeful he shuts down DeMaryius Thomas the same way, DT has issues with physical big CBs that can keep up. The one I am most concerned about would be Sanders in this Broncos game, he is the kind who will give us fits.

Agreed. If he can play well against a 'name' guy or two I'd definitely be hopeful heading into 18'.

  2. Without any proof to substantiate my opinion...

Even with all the positive stuffstuff about Toub, I'm definitely a little iffy still on a lifelong special teams coach running the entire show. Ballard has to get our offense to become more dynamic, not rely on a QB to pull out last minute wins.

I wonder what the strategy will be with getting a new staff. If it's Taub picking, will he bring in who he thinks, or will Ballard pick the OC,DC?

I honestly hope Ballard gets some veteran guys at the other position coaches. Don't want an OC or DC learning on the job again.

Part of me thinks getting veteran coaches across the board (forgetting the Toub plan) is definitely another good option.

I'm definitely torn. Just hoping we get O and D coaches who've had actual success in the league. Not guys who were position coaches who had squads ranking in the high 20's for most of there careers.

All just random thoughts. Apologies on the rant.

  3. Won't panic until the second half of next season.

I knew he was young, but he wasn't even 21 when training camp started.

That's baby young in the nfl. He's got the intangibles thing pundits always talk about. Can't teach his size and strength.

I'd say it's a mix of growing pains and he definitely had the knee thing early in the season.

If he can play the rest of the year, regardless if it's because of injuries or not, it's something we can build on.

I'd be a lot more concerned if he was a healthy scratch every week with the injuries we've had.

    I'm hopeful for Quincy.

At this point I'm long term thinking.

I'm more interested in the higher draft pick than the win.

    You've entered the 'I don't give a %' phase...lol.

I'm right there with you. We'll cheer if they win, if not, it's all good.

Broncos are up 23-0 with 11:33 to play.

McCown is out of the game with a hand injury too.

They should win this game, and that would give us the 3rd overall pick, with 3 weeks to go.

    Looking good for that #3.

They'll be drained for the Thursday game. Half will probably have the flu after 4 hrs in the snow..lol.

    That's a sad lol btw.

Can't wait till free agency and the draft.

  6. Gonna probably see some UGLY ball tomorrow..lol. Got the below from the Buffalo board.

Looking like it could be a really fun game to watch on TV tomorrow...should impact the game especially during the second half...

teams build their roster and scheme to play in the conditions of their stadium a lot of times

the bills get a lot of bad weather, so its not coincide they are usually a good rushing team.

    Yep..

So there definitely is some correlation. The so called tougher D's are usually outdoor teams, (ne, Pitt, sea, Baltimore).

The good O's seem to be indoors as well (atl, ind, no). Give or take a few teams of course.

  8. Although I can't prove it, but I believe there is a small bit of softness in teams that play indoors.

Not sure why, but teams like the Colts, Lions, Falcons seem to have trouble playing in colder weather. Not always obviously, but I specifically remember games over the years where we struggled against teams like the Bills/Browns, who in theory should be cakewalks. I wonder if the playing conditions/weather play a role in that.
