I hope the QB prospects shape up a bit before draft time.    Gurus say the USC QB isn't ready, the UCLA QB isn't even liked by his own players, my Miss State team intercepted Louisvilles QB 3 times and beat them in their bowl game.  Mayfield...nuff said.  We really need Gruden to make them all look perfect when he grills them.

They'll amp these kids up by draft time. You know it happens every year.

Regardless of us being #3 instead of #2, we're in a sweet spot if someone falls in love with just one QB (or another position). We'll draft a good player whether we sit still or play the trade game.

Really hard to get worked up over the schedule.  So much is going to change in the offseason.  Especially on the Patriots.  They could lose both McDaniels and their DC.  Brady will be a year older.  I think their run is going to end this year.

So true. I can't ever take these to seriously.

We had the easiest schedule and barely got a few wins this year. (Injuries always make these things change).

He looks stronger than before looks as though he's been weight training.

Agreed, he looked like he definitely had some atrophy early in the year. He looked skinny on the sidelines.

I'm hoping it was a lot of media fanning the flames that something was catastrophically wrong with him. Wouldn't be the first time.

But I agree I noticed that as well, his arms and neck/shoulder area definitely looked solid compared to September when he looked thin.

  4. Reading the transcript didn't make it seem all doom and gloom so I'm not sure how it can be taken negatively.

Stated he went to the Netherlands because his Dr and facilities are there. Same as a guy traveling to Dr Andrews in Alabama/Florida to do a procedure, only difference is that you cross an ocean to get there.

People travel for medical things all the time.

To me he sounded like a guy frustrated he didn't play this year and tried to get it going and couldn't get his strength up to par which probably lead to him doubting himself and his recovery.

He'll be back, that didn't give any indication that he's broken and looking for voodoo cures around the globe.

European medicine is on par, if not better then what we have here.

I hope he gets 139 yards, to give him another 1,000 yard season.  Would be a nice takeaway parting gift for this dismal season.

I love the optimism and would love him to get it as well, but I don't think it's gonna snow at LOS this week ..

Brissett is awesome. Think about his circumstances. Only in his second year, he gets traded from one of the best run organizations to a program that has had its challenges recently. In Week 1. The differences in scheme and verbiage from the Patriots offense to the Colts are dramatic, to say the least. Yet, Brissett plays in Week 1, and starts in Week 2, playing reasonably well. He leads the Colts to a win in Week 3. He barely knew anyone's name.

His OL is one of the worst in the league. He's taken snaps from five different centers, and three of the other four positions have basically been manned by committee throughout the season. He got sacked 10 times in a single game this year. When he was asked whether he was hurt in that game, he said 'I'm the QB, I don't come out of the game.'

The defense has given up more big plays than almost any team in the NFL, and has some of the worst numbers across the board. The coaching staff has literally cost the offense points. His receivers have dropped passes, fumbled possessions, been manhandled, etc.

Through all of this, Brissett has never said anything that could even be misconstrued as a negative comment toward any of his teammates, his coaches, or the organization. He's even been a strong interview, solid with the media (who, at times, doesn't deserve it, IMO). He hasn't missed a single snap; I don't think he's missed a practice.

    TL;DR -- I admire Jacoby Brissett.

As for his play, I have several criticisms of his ability, decision making, poise, etc. And I'll detail those at some point after the season is over. Some people suggest the Colts could trade Brissett for a solid draft pick; I strongly disagree, at least based on where he is now. But despite my problems with his play -- and there are several -- I feel as good about the Colts backup QB position as I ever have.

I'd like this a dozen times if possible.

In a sorry season like this you've got to try and get some sort of positive thing to be talk about.

He's been dealt a terrible situation and survived an entire season and didn't miss any time. Tough kid.

We see backups cone in every year and can never (none I can remember honestly) last an entire season and try to keep a team afloat while totally learning on the job, a bad job at that (being a Colts QB).

He's had some glimpses to take from the season.

  8. IMO without having any knowledge on the QB class, I'd bet they both go into the draft. Staying in school another year is a GIGANTIC risk. A bad injury or down year and you've kissed away millions of dollars (in case of injury, even that insurance money isn't NFL money).

I'm betting it's all the pre draft nonsense that comes out every year.

Turning down being picked in the top five like I said is such a big risk. Which, in the end I think can definitely help us.

  9. I'd trade that #3 pick if we end up there.

Saw an article today that mentions the #3 pick has one of the higher bust rates of the top 10 in the last 20 years.

Not like it matters, but it's strange for sure.
