If we lose this game it will have to do more with another epic collapse. Wow. Thst score before half by the Jags gave them life. God I hate this scheme and D coaching!!!

The score before the half set things in motion, but we threw gas on the fire with that STUPID series with Jacoby in the game.

I cant think of ANY logical reason JB should be in there.

NONE.  We totally gave them the momentum...... possibly the game.  If We go 3 and out here.......,,

    Marsha Marsha Marsha......

Anybody else turned on by Cindy’s lisp?

j/k, but Marsha........ lord , the ideas I had about her as a pre-pubescent child.   Before the football incident anyway.  Those groovy ‘70s thigh-lengthed dresses.  Oh boy, i’m having flash backs.

As an ironic side note, Davy Jones settled down in a town near me, here in Pa.

What he says about rivers and picking a WR at 13 like jeudy is really enticing. But if it doesn’t work and in two years you still don’t have a future QB it really wastes time.  This WR class is just so deep I just don’t see it if the QB Ballard loves is right there at 13. We can get a very good WR at 34.

Its starting to look like Fromm and Eason may be the best available at #13.  I could easily see Burrow, Tua, Herbert, and Love gone by #13.   A bummer on one hand, but pushes more top players, like WR and DT , down to us.

I think he was saying Rivers is a 2 year (3 max) shot at a run.  He still expects a QB added , to develop, in 2020 or 2021 i would think.
If Ballard “loves” a QB at 13, i would think he does it, the problem is, theres gonna be a run, with trades.  You just get that feeling .

Exactly..... Derrick Brown and Javon Kinlaw are not only penetrators and game-wreckers.... they are "tone setters" in the interior that would bring added value to our back seven guys.

Under a scenario where the Lions and Giants don't select Brown or Kinlaw.... and given the likelihood that Miami (Tua) and the Chargers (I'm predicting Love here) select QBs..... one or both of these DTs should be available at #8 where the Cardinals pick just ahead of Jacksonville.

If only one of those guys is available at #8.... I would absolutely pitch a deal to AZ of our #13 and #75 pick.... and a flip-flop of our #34 for their #40 in Round 2.

That would be an equitable swap and basically we're giving up a 3rd rounder and five spots in Round 2 to move up for Brown or Kinlaw.

If BOTH are available at #8? I almost guarantee that the Jags will take one of them.... and we'll be sweating out the next 3 selections.

I respect and totally get the QB-centric crowd sentiment in this discussion.... we've not been in QB purgatory like this in 20 years.

And if Jordan Love IS the next Patrick Mahomes 2-3 years from now.... whether we select him or not... I'll gladly take my lumps for doubting him.

At the same time.... remember that the closest thing we've had to a dominant DT in a full 28 years is Steve Emtman.... and his career was short-lived as he wound up maimed in both knees and out of football.

And let's also remember that lacking that disruptive force on the interior DL costed us come playoff time.... and that was WITH Peyton Manning at QB....and Marvin...and Reggie....and Edge.

All that HALL OF FAME juice on offense and we won 1 Lombardi.

This tells me that we shouldn't just reject out of hand the idea for moving up for a "best in breed" game-changer such as Brown or Kinlaw. Not to be reckless about it or to overpay....but we shouldn't just rule it out because of this overblown "positional value" line of thinking. JMO

I get that, but JJ Watt is a HOF talent, didnt seem to matter, Donaldson in LA with a good line AND offense... where were they?  I’m all for a stud DT, but playmakers, especially those who touch the ball, seem to make the most impact.

That said, then you look at how Nelson seemed to change things. I’m excited to see what happens.

  5. All he needs to do is marry a Kardashian, and he’s Kanye West.

If you have the $, you can become whatever you want...... talent or not.  Honey Bear were the only words i picked out.  Sounds bad even with auto-tuning the auto-tune.

What the heck happened to “music”?

If Brissett rolls in to the season as the unquestioned starter, without a realistic replacement plan in place(i.e. a 1st or 2nd round QB) it will be the first time in 17 years that I don't pay for Sunday Ticket, will also be the first time in about a decade that I will make no effort to see at least one game in person.

    Cool.

just think of all the time and money you’ll save.

The old WR coach has the title of “passing game specialist” or something like that.

Hmmm... nothing that SPECIAL about our passing game.

    Can he throw?

Parks Frazier is offensive quality control coach. He was assistant to the Head Coach for the past 2 seasons. https://www.colts.com/news/coaching-staff-changes-2020

Seems we now have two offensive QC coaches.

    The old good-cop , bad-cop approach i guess.

Luck is on that middle ground for me. If we drafted Tannehill at 8 instead of Luck hypothetically and he had Luck's career, I'd be ok with it. However, with the hype behind Luck, the time invested in him, and the mediocre results we got with him, I feel like he completely underachieved during his career, and I wasted a lot of time and energy watching and supporting the Colts for 8 years. Grigson and Pagano were a big problem, but Luck never had much passion for the game (as I always said in the forum), and he couldn't beat the Pats.

Honestly, if he came back, I'd welcome it, but I'd have no faith he could beat the Chiefs or Ravens in the playoffs. It'd be like 2014 every year unless we faced the Texans and Titans in the playoffs, which would satisfy some, but would be pretty old to me quickly.

I kind of agree.  With all the hype and Investment in his talent , i do feel something was left on the table, so to speak.

I always wanted a lil more fire from him, and its ok to get mad.  He was different.  The bonehead plays out of nowhere were also frustrating.

I just didnt see the killer instinct that the great ones seem to have.

That said, he’d still be top ten QB , without much effort, if he came back.

Grigs, Pagano, Lucks injuries, etc are all part of the issues from that time.  Andrew was a talented, exciting young WB that we enjoyed for far too short of a time.  The NFL is changing fast.

That little show for tv, he performed in the endzone...just before he abandoned his team and fanbase.

That was odd.  I wish i knew the REAL story behind that.  It was just so weird.  At the time, and especially later.  I just cant wrap my head around the purpose and/or benefit.

I refuse to believe it was to sell tickets.  Water under the bridge now i guess.  Weird tho.

  10. My bet is those nitwits at barstool are creating their own news.
You know they are 2nd-rate when even Patty Mac Feels “dirty” when associating with them.  Just some chowda heads stirring up crap.

I think the 2 wasted years would be from sticking with Brissett and drafting a QB to learn behind him.   A bridge that may avoid the "wasted" years could be signing an old vet.

We never know what the future holds.   I want them to improve for the 2020 season as they groom the future QB.

I was assuming that a rookie QB would only sit the 1st year.... at most.

if they come here they are starting over Jacoby. 2-3 year contract if its one of those guys

I wouldnt want any of them in a pricey 2 or 3 year contract.  Unless Ballard plans on waiting a year to draft a QB.  Draft one early at least.
At their age, learning a new system and players.  I see 2 or 3 wasted years better spent finding the future.  I just see more negatives from a 40 year old QB than positives.  Even if those names are pretty big ones.

  13. I don’t see the Rivers, Brees, Brady logic.  Why would any of them want to come here?  On a 1 year deal to groom a young guy?
More and more, Jacoby, “someone else”, Kelly, and draftee makes the most sense for training camp.

The”someone else” is the difficult part.  Any QB of merit wont want the gig.  Why would they?  Unless we let JB go.  Then its slightly more attractive.  But it still Appears they would be grooming a young guy to be the future.

Or maybe Ballardsees Carr, Teddy B, etc as the future.  I dont.  If we’re changing QBs, rip the bandaid off.  A 1 year “QB re-shuffle” is fine, we dont need to make it a “thing.”

So many ways we could go.

    Very exciting.
