  1. Finally, in 2011 the Colts organization has listened to the fans and agree that they made a huge mistake by not going for the perfect season. In an attempt to correct this mistake and acknowledge the wishes of the fans they have decided to go for a perfect record this season.

I as a fan want them to have that record, and I will be the first to complain when they take out all those starters and find a quarterback that can win a game! :wall:

  2. I have not even read the article and I disagree. Eli outplayed Brady Sunday. Brady has proved he is not super great without the great offensive and defensive lines. Have to say that Aaron Rodgers is the greatest right at this moment of all qbs playing and that might even be true if Peyton were active this year. Great qbs must have people around them giving them support. Peyton being out now and the Colts going so terribly downhill, though, shows that Peyton did carry a great deal of the burden on himself. That is what makes him the G.O.A.T.

  3. I would love to see both Manning brothers in the Hall of Fame one day. That would be Archie's deserved compensation for being beat up so much and never able to achieve his potential as a great qb.

  4. Go Giants! I'm glad Eli lived up to being a top 5 QB after that mess in the offseason. And man, one could only think what would happen if Peyton was healthy this year. There are no truly scary good teams this year. The top 3 are probably the Patriots, Steelers and Ravens but all of them are very vulnerable. I feel pretty confident in the NFC winning another Super Bowl.

Looks like Packers in NFC are unbeatable.

  5. A bright note to end another sucky day of the Colts losing.

Next to Peyton, Eli is my favorite QB. I'm so glad the Giants won today. I wish my Fox channel had shown this one instead of the Packers/Chargers game though.

Same here. I had to listen to the Giants game on Internet radio. I live in Baton Rouge, LA, home of the Number 1 LSU Tigers. And they showed Packers and Chargers here too.

  6. Says a lot about how good our team is when them losing is enough to warrant a thread about it. Things must be slow in Indy with the Colts struggling and all.

Props to Eli. he came up big when he needed to. I'm upset that the D blew the lead, but it's to be expected. No playmakers on the D at all, thanks to BB's drafting. This defensive "genius"' is quickly becoming overrated.

Surely you are not blaming Belichick. I thought he was the greatest coach ever. It also says a lot about how great the Colts have been the past that Patriots fans hang around their forums. You are right, though. Your team has had some great years. You have nothing to be ashamed of.

  7. I have heard a lot lately from many fronts that the Colts, now hopelessly out of the postseason anyway, should just fold up and lose the rest of their games on purpose so that they can draft first and get a high-ranking college quarterback. Is the organization and are the fans really so desperate to win Super Bowls in the future that they would destroy the integrity of the game in the present?

I remember in 2009 when Caldwell pulled the starting team (going for a perfect season) in the third quarter so that the players could be rested for the playoffs, a move which I and many others considered foul play, and few seemed to approved.

Other teams have done this also. But we applaud the ones that do not. When the Giants beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl a few years ago, they did not do it by resting their players in the last regular season game against the Pats, even though they had a playoff spot sewed up. They went out, gave it their all, and almost beat them in that game.A few weeks later, after playing three grueling playoff games, they triumphed over that 18 and 0 team.

I, for one, hope I do not ever see a favorite team of mine play dead again. It is disgusting to watch, from this fan's point of view.

The Colts will get a high draft choice anyway, no doubt. But to purposely lose in order to do so I believe is unsportsmanlike and repugnant.

I would like to hear your thoughts on the matter.

  8. I guess you can't please everyone on this board because most were excited that Peyton was able to be on the sideline and now your saying that the coach should bench him because he's a distraction to the poor boys trying to play the game. Well those poor boys are professional players and get paid as such and if they can't play with Peyton on the sideline how do they play when is is under center. The only player I saw play last night like a professional was D. Carter and he played his heart out. The players did not play like professionals and the coaching staff flunked big time. JMO of course.

I cannot believe you actually thought I was SERIOUS! Manning was the only thing interesting to watch for crying out loud!

P.S. See my picture posing with the great one.

  9. I think the coach should bench Manning. I mean by that make him sit on the bench. His presence standing on the sidline looking like a disapproving parent is very distracting to the poor boys who are trying to concentrate on the game and do their best. So, blame last night's debacle on the ominous presence of number 18. He is too much a symbol of excellence to those who cannot live up to it.

  10. If I hear one die-hard Saints fan, like my daughter, accuse Manning of slipping off the sidelines last night without shaking a Saints player's hand, I will come unglued. That is what he did, and nobody should blame him. He just saw his beloved team get walloped by the team his Dad played for and that he pulled for all his young life.

  11. When a team gets beat this bad it is because they are demoralized. Peyton looked demoralized too on the sideline. He had looked forward to this game I think, in his home town, etc. Anyway, the team seemed to not even try. I blame Polian and the owner for over the years trying to build a one man team. Had they given Manning what he needed around him, and especially on defense, this team would have five Super Bowls at least.

Also, the coach must be able to inspire during hard times. Two words: Bill Cowher, before he is caught up by someone else.

  12. I am watching LSU at Tennessee and Peyton is there. He just spent several minutes in the booth with the crew. He is doing an excellent job commenting on the game, says he is flying to Cincinnati tonight. He looks healthy and happy. I thought you folks would like to know since maybe you are not seeing the LSU game in Indiana and elsewhere.
