  1. No game should be an exception if your truly a fan of that team.   :)

You can question my fandom if you want.  That is your prerogative.

I'm assuming that means that you are also saying that all the Bronco fans who booed so loudly (that it could be heard on TV) at half time towards a team that was ahead/tied aren't truly fans of that team either.

  2. I agree, only remember booing Colts once, I think it was during a Jets game, I forget the circumstances, does anyone else  remember that game???

Yes, "that" game would be an exception.

And, I can fully understand the fans booing during "that" game.

My TV got a few choice words.

  3. It's true, every fanbase has all ranges of people.

I just cannot think of one time when we heard resounding boos at the RCA Dome or LOS when our team was either tied or winning. It hits the ear wrong. Do Denver fans truly think they're entitled to a SB championship because they have Manning? Do they really expect to be ahead by 28 points at the half....every week?

I like the team. I want Manning to succeed there. But the fans? I sat in on their gameday thread and I'll never do that again. They're too hard and too critical as a majority.

I wouldn't know about the gameday thread as I am staying away from that forum.

But, a message board is one thing.

For fans actually at the game to boo so loudly that they can be heard on TV is quite another . . . especially when the team isn't behind.

  4. I don't know why this thought is so upsetting..and igniting...Dy....

...QBs have wins a losses and ratings based partially on intereptions..

So interceptions are ALL on the QB.....no matter who's fault

I didn't think it was A HOT BUTTON topic.

I'm as mellow as a bye week....I apologize for upsetting my message board brothers with this radical, controversial thought

Yes, QBs are given credit for wins and blame for losses.  The same goes for interceptions.

I don't think anyone is denying that.

But, as you just said, "no matter who's fault" . . . which is basically all anyone has been saying in that all interceptions are not the fault of the QB.

So, I don't understand what the problem is.

  5. Reasons most definetly can be excuses....She C

    Come on, now

No, an excuse is an attempt to lessen the blame attached to a fault or offense.

A reason is an explanation or justification of an action or event.

  6. My point is QBs don't blame anyone because its bottom line..its their interception.

Reasons, in the end, are just excuses..its on the QB's record

You really need to get a dictionary.

Reasons and excuses are not the same.

  7. He's said it multiple times..He probably said it Sunday..Eli says all his are on him

When ever he's asked..he says Interceptions are on the QB

    ....How can they not be..//

Have you ever heard an NFL QB, much less Peyton, blame intercetions on spke mone other than Him?

The point is...3 interceptions for Manning is very unusual...not like him....

Got to clean it up in NOvember

    I don't get it.

Peyton and Eli may take the blame for all interceptions and the stat line will also reflect that.

But, how can you say . . "how can they not be" . . . when a QB (and I don't care which QB is being discussed) throws a perfect pass only to have the receiver bobble it, fall down, etc,?

  8. Well, Denver fans had high expectations and thought they were invincible. They probably thought they were going to be up 40-0 by the half.

    I understand having high expectations.

But, I would never "boo" the team I cheer for when they weren't even behind.

Heck, I didn't even "boo" the Colts during the 2-14 season.

  9. Awww....C'mon Denver, why not boo your team 1 more time for fun?

The insolence and insufferable sense of entitlement is striking from that fanbase. Two home games in a row they boo their team while leaving the field for the half....and neither time were they down.

There is a HUGE culture difference between Denver fans and Indy fans. HUGE.

    That's disgusting.

Maybe it's the altitude that makes them so crazy.

Denver fans need to spend some time in Tampa Bay to clear their heads and make them appreciate what a great team they have.

  10. I tried to handle this subject as delicately as possible, leading up to the game.    I even stated,  I had No idea how I was going to feel until I was actually there.

I am sure the people around me thought I was Crazy :nutz:   and rightfully so, I suppose.    I found myself cheering for both teams.  I was cheering on the Colts, but I also cheered when Peyton threw his TD's... :td:       I was just trying to take it "all in"  as weird as it was for me at times..

The woman next to me, at one point,  stood up and pointed her finger in my face, and YELLED very loudly  "NO ~ YOU ARE NOT CHEERING FOR BOTH TEAMS"     I had to restrain my husband...

I will continue to be the Fan I am,   as hard as that is for some to understand.

That's sad and I'm sorry you had to endure that.

If I had been there, I would have also been cheering for the Colts and for Peyton.

I think many look at being a fan as a black and white issue.  But, my fandom is ruled by my heart.

My heart wouldn't have let me cheer against Peyton, but I would have been cheering for the Colts to win.

Anyhow, I am one who has no problem understanding how you felt.  I just feel really bad that you were subjected to that jerk.

  11. I may be in a minority of one, but I'm getting rather tired of this thread.

It seems to be the same thing over and over and over again leading to one big brewhaha.

A member posts that they have no problem with Irsay's tweets and that the media blew everything out of proportion.

Another member posts that Irsay was out of line and should shut down his tweeting fingers.

Neither side will probably ever agree with the other.

So, we now have seven pages of rinsing and repeating.

  12. Wow. You really believe that? Irsay has been all over the media/twitter since 2011. I doubt if even fringe NFL fans would not know who he is.

haha  My husband is a fringe NFL fan.

So when I read your post, I asked him if he knew who owned the Colts.

He said he had no clue.

However, when I told him that the owner was Jim Irsay, he did say that he had heard that name somewhere before.  .

  13. It is a bummer that those living out of state/country have such a difficult time getting Colt's merchandise.

If any of you ever get to Indiana, bring along an empty suitcase because you can find Colt's stuff everywhere . . . even the gas stations.

Last week, I went to a holiday warehouse that comes to my area every year.  Other than a few exceptions, everything is priced at $1.59.

They always have a good selection of Colt's, Packer's, Steeler's, Bear's, and Cowboy's merchandise.  Sadly, by the time I got there, most of the Colt's stuff was wiped out. :(

This year, they also had a lot of Bronco's merchandise which is understandable.

But, they also had a lot of Patriot's stuff and I can't imagine those items flying off the shelves.

I know that I had no desire to own a Tom Brady three ring binder.

  14. I didn't watch the game.  Still haven't although I did record it on my old VCR. :)

However, a friend told me about a sign that she saw at the end of the game that I found to be in bad taste given that the Colts had just paid tribute to Peyton.

It said something like, "This is no longer Peyton's Place".

As if we all needed a reminder that Peyton is no longer a Colt.

  15. I think it's very easy to understand why some find this cartoon insulting.

First, Luck didn't school Peyton and I think he would be the first to say that.

It was a team win.  The Colts beat the Broncos.

I'll never understand why some can reduce what I view as the ultimate team sport down to two players who are never on the field at the same time.

And, yes, no one would be offended if this were a depiction of Brady and Manning except for, perhaps, Patriot fans.

However, Brady never wore a Colt's uniform.

And, I sure never cried tears of joy when Brady hoisted that Lombardi.

So, for those who loved Peyton and lived through the ups and downs of his career as a Colt; it's very easy to understand those who take offense.

  16. There are a lot of judgments being made in this thread from both sides.

Some of you want to blame the mothers of the children in such situations and they deserve a share of any blame.

But, when I read 7 children from multiple women and only see one common denominator which is AP; I believe the bulk of any blame should be on his shoulders.

I think that this is a very sensitive topic right now due to AP leaving his son's deathbed to play football.  As I said in another thread, AP may have very good reasons for doing so.  I honestly don't know.

But, it is also easy to understand why his actions seemed callous and uncaring to many and how this story (if true) just adds fuel to the disdain that others may feel towards him.

Also, if any of you saw TO on Dr. Phil; you would have seen the scenario of a man who had fathered four children with four different women.  Were these women looking for child support?  The answer is a big YES.

But, they were also looking for TO to be a part of his children's lives.  If I remember correctly, one of the children was 7 and TO had only seen her about 12 times during those seven years.

Is AP another TO?  I really don't know.  There is so much behind this story that is still unknown.  But, just like AP, TO was the common denominator and even admitted that he had been irresponsible.

And, yes, the perfect family unit does consist of a loving father and mother.  But, I have known many children who have grown up to be great individuals without ever even knowing who their father was.

And, I have also seen children who would have been far better off if their father had never been in their lives for even a second.

  17. Why am I a bad guy for just suggesting it would have been better if he had kept quiet this week ?

Colts fans should tell their owner it might be better to stop the tweeting and controversial comments. When Dungy starts saying stuff, you know it's not just the old crow.

    Ruff, ruff!

  18. My point on this is why stir it up before a big game ? If Steve Bisciotti started saying he released Ed Reed and changed his defensive model because he was frustrated he didn't win more than one Super Bowl with Ed right before the Texans game , I would question why he said that, and the timing. As I said earlier , I would never give him a tribute in a Texans uniform. Why give an opposing team any edge or something to play for , when you can just keep mum. You can question the Baltimore Colts /Ravens stuff , but I'd say the same thing if my owner spouted off.

You are entitled to your opinion.  But, I think that I have read at least 25 of your posts on this topic and it gets to the point where I have to question your motive.

Whether Colt's fan agree with what Irsay has done or not, there isn't much we can do about it now is there?  So, why carry on and on and on???

And the situation with Ed Reed is nothing like the situation with Peyton.  So just drop that nonsense.

Now, if you really want to make yourself useful; I would suggest that you trot over to the message boards of the 31 other teams and educate the fans on how the owner of the teams they support should handle things if they are ever put in the unique situation that Irsay was.

  19. Why, because I make sense. I can't believe all the posts where they would think these comments were a smart thing. It defies logic.

haha  You may "think" that you make sense and that the opinions of others defies logic, but all I see is a Baltimore Colt's/Raven's fan determined to find trouble.

And after reading through your numerous, lengthy posts; I find it amazing that you

    just

    can't

    let

    it

    go.

  20. He should not only have walked away from the media, he should have ran ! The USA Today story and tribute do nothing for you. No owner, player, or team official should ever give the other team fodder if they can help it. You just keep quiet , and let the game be played. In most colleges , coaches ban tweeting because the kids say stupid stuff. What do you do with an owner that won't stop tweeting , and gives ill advised interviews when you know dang well any comments will be examined in a fish bowl. Why would you feel that this was a good time to do an interview any time within the last month on Manning or the Denver game ? It should be a no comment and quick trip to your owners box.

I have just read through at least ten of your previous posts and am wondering, is this topic some sort of obsession with you?

Because you are seriously reminding of a dog with a bone.

  21. I really don't understand the need for this poll.

Given that the majority of us will be watching this game on the TV in our homes, what difference does it make who one roots for?

I mean it's not exactly as if my cheering and yelling at the TV has any effect on the outcome of the game.

If it did, the Colts would have nothing but perfect seasons and more rings than anyone has fingers and I wouldn't have woken up this morning with a sore throat and feeling bummed about the loss.  :hissy:

Instead, I would have woken up with a sore throat and feeling giddy about the win.
