  1. Yea its really easy doing that when your behind a guy who doesnt miss one game in the reg season. how do you know he hasnt showed any improvement, i swear most colts fans didnt even know much about curtis painter much less paid attention to him prior him playing in that jets game.

What has that got to do with anything? Most Colts fans know a bad QB when they see one, and Painter fits that bill.

  2. Please tell me why the colts should get rid of painter? is it because he didnt keep the undefeated season alive or because he doesnt have starter stats in the preseason smh.

You can not possibly be serious! This is his 3rd yr. in the league and he has showed no improvement what so ever.

  3. I wonder if you saw someone else. Because he is listed neither as 180lbs nor 6'3".

Your right on his listed size, but it was definitely Thomas that we saw, can't mistake that curly perm he has. They have him listed at 6'0" 192 which is still no way. 192lbs for a 6'0" guy would be pretty good size. I seen him 2 weeks ago so maybe last yr. before the injury he was bigger and still needs to get back into football shape, but when I seen him there was absolutely no way he was that big.

  4. C'mon dude, if you're going to show this video, you should also show the 'Drop heard 'round the world' that Garcon had in the Super Bowl. TJ Houshmandzadeh is a better receiver than all of ours except for Wayne, and he's got scrappy YAC skills. Face it, half of our receivers are already blowing hammies and missing practices, which is what they seem to do best. Why not sign this dude on the cheap? Seriously?

You obviously don't watch much football.

  5. granted it was only a couple plays, but his tackling is what stood out to me in the preseason game vs the rams. and the picture the used in the star he didn't look all that skinny...

He was 5 feet away from me at practice one day and my 11 yr. old daughter commented on how skinny he was. I hadn't really payed any attention to it before she said something about it. His arms are like spagetti, granted, there is muscle there, but still very very skinny. There is absolutely no way he is 180lbs like they have him listed at. My guess would be closer to 160lbs, and for a guy thats 6'3", thats ridiculously skinny.

  6. Thomas may turn out to be good, but I would really like to see the kid gain some muscle to his ungodly skinny frame. Im just afraid he couldn't bring down some of the bigger recievers to save his life. I honestly can see him riding piggy back on Andre Johnson while he runs for a 50 yd. td reception.

  7. You cant eat a degree. Normaly the kids geting paid by boosters are NFL quality players. Most of which get a token degree. I remember Andy Katzenmoyer who layed for Ohio State taking classes on AIDS awarenes and Golf to get his GPA up so he would be eligible.

I don't doubt for a second that these guys get token degree's, but that is just another benefit for them that most students don't get. These student athletes get their degree from a reputable university for free and the majority of them can't even spell their own names without a cheat sheet. Im just tired of these athletes that say they should make money for playing college football(or whatever sport) when they don't have to pay a dime for their bogus education. They don't comprehend the unbelievable opportunity they've been given and still choose to put all their teammates, coaches, and university in jeopardy for their own selfishness, and yes, I do realize that many of the university's are just as dirty as many of the players.

  8. Firstly, I do not think anyone should place much gravity to this unless it can be indisputably proven. The whistle blower is a scamming, lying, thieving, felonious piece of garbage that deserves to have his skull kicked in. Unless he has proof, then his claims should be disregarded.

Secondly, as much revenue as these athletes draw, I would think its about time they receive some due compensation apart from their scholarships. The business that is the NCAA is dubious at best and I find it odd that they are so ardently opposed to student athletes receiving kickbacks.

Explain to me why I should care if Vince Wilfork got him some bling and an Escalade for his service to the 'U'? How does this hurt anyone or create a conflict of interests? What, the coach can make a million mint but the student gets a degree that may or may not benefit him in the distant future?

They all get compensated quite well. It's called about 100 and some thousand dollars in tuition. They all know ahead of time they are not suppossed to recieve any outside compensation from the university, If they choose to take it anyway, then they broke the rules and should be disiplined for it.

  9. McAfee is an awesome FG kicker. In practice he routinely hits from 75 yds out. I hoenstly don't know why we even keep Adam. Don't get me wrong, I love Vinitieri but in reality, we don't need him.

  10. Taj Smith over TJ is laughable.

Why is that? Taj is younger, quicker, and at this point in their careers more athletic. It is laughable to me that some people keep beating the TJ drum when it is obvious that not to many teams are chomping at the bit to sign him. He's probably asking to much money, which also just proves he's not worth it. TJ has not been good since he left the Bengals.

  11. I just watched the Rams game again in Slo-Mo and Joe Reits played awesome. He drove guys into the secondary on run plays, pulled like a 5 year vet, and didn't allow his guy to even get a sniff of a QB. He and Ijalana are both bad *.

I agree. I can't see how Ijalana is not a starter by the time the regular season comes along and Reitz and Castonzo on the left side gives the Colts the best left side combination they can get IMO.

  12. People keep saying how big McClendon is, Obviously those people have not seen him up close. I noticed it immediatly at the few times I've been to practice. He is not even as big as Pollack and looks like a dwarf compared to Reitz. I know that size don't automatically mean that Reitz is better, but IMO he completely outplayed McClendon both in practice and in the 1st preseason game.

  13. Aaron Maybin is expected to sign with Jets Wednesday

You would know this if you read the thread, more specifically, the post just 2 above yours.

    C'mon man.

Unless Maybin is going to play LBer for the Jets, it makes absolutely no sense for him to sign there. Buffalo cut him because he couldn't play in the 3-4 defense. Not that I care if he comes here or not, but its just a bad choice IMO.

  14. It don't matter what the fans think, but I can tell you that I've been to practice 3 times and IMO Reitz is better than McClendon(who im completely unimpressed with), Like I said though, don't matter what I think or anybody else on this message board.

  15. If they end up signing TJ I'm going to be sure to question your expertise after this post. They've already had talks with him so I'd say it's not too far fetched. But I suppose I'm an *.

If the Colts sign TJ it shouldn't be my expertise you question.

  16. I would love the idea of bringing him in at RT to teach Ijalana some things. That would also mean Diem would move back to his natural position of guard. It probably won't happen because we are running thin on cap space, but it is a good thought.

How is Diem a natural guard? RT has been his natural posistion his entire career including college.

  17. Here's what I typed about Mathews in another thread.

Mathews - The guy is like the Tasmanian Devil, he's moving, he's active, he's wreaking havoc but there is no rhyme or reason to it and it didn't affect many plays.

I think with the play of Ogbu and the play of Gill both Mathews and Foster need to fight for their jobs. I like Foster's intensity and motor and versatility, but IMO Gill will offer the same in a bigger, stronger frame.

I agree. I never understood the love affair many Colts fans have with Foster. Sure the guy has a good motor and gives 100%, but that does not equate to talent. I always thought Foster was a liability even though he would give his best, unfortunatly his best is not good enough IMO.
