  1. Listening to Steichen talk, it sounds like no matter who the starter is at the beginning of the season, they'll have a plan to get Richardson on the field sooner than later. I'm eager to see what that looks like, but I hope they have at least a couple of packages for him, and not just short yardage, QB run stuff.
  2. What about everything else Ballard (and Steichen) said? Or what about Ballard's history of favoring high traits prospects? Last week, Ballard basically said it wasn't Levis. At the Combine, he said all the young QBs need a lot of work and development, so acting like 'ready to start Day 1' is a major factor didn't make sense. He said the drop back QB probably isn't the direction of the NFL right now. He also basically said all along that trading up wasn't gonna happen.
  3. Ballard might be the most transparent GM in the league. He basically telegraphed this pick for two months, and we could have just believed in what he was saying and figured this out.
  4. I don't know, but I read something today that said he wants to wear #2. I assume he no longer wants to wear #15...
  5. TBH everyone does. The Colts uni is awesome, the blue is perfect, contrasts amazingly with the white... I know I'm biased, but the simplicity and the colors are awesome. It's (almost) impossible to look bad in a Colts uniform. And I'm not a big uniform/jersey number guy, btw.
  6. Some of us were. Others of us drove themselves crazy for a few weeks... Finally Grigson let the cat out of the bag a few days before the draft, but I don't think the league liked that.
  7. I'll compare if we draft him. Other than that, I don't plan on watching anymore Levis lol.
  8. I haven't charted anything, but this seems low. I would have said Levis is under center 25% of the time, but I might be influenced by run plays from under center. Gonna take a look at the work but I'll be holding my nose the entire time.
  9. This is a rough take. Feels like copium to me. I don't see how we look at these two guys play, and then make an argument that they are even remotely close to each other in terms of accuracy. I'm thinking that Richardson being good on deep throws is probably skewing this.
  10. What if they all have the same source and are regurgitating the same information?
  11. By tomorrow we'll be hearing that none of his teammates came to his birthday party...
  12. I don't like to be flummoxed... Thing is Ballard has never been on the clock with a high pick and a need at QB. And Steichen is a new HC. And Irsay went rogue for a few weeks last season. So I think everything is in play.
  13. I don't see what one thing has to do with the other. It seems like you think anything that isn't positive about Levis or that seems positive about Richardson is part of some conspiracy...
  14. Didn't mean to imply that your "lazy" comment was inaccurate. I do think some people make lazy comparisons, or don't understand what the comparison really means. But I agree, for all the ways they're similar, there are just as many where they're different, and those are relevant. And in the end, a comp is just for fun. Every player is different, so comping Levis to Wentz doesn't really mean anything. The only purpose it serves is to give someone who doesn't know much about the player a baseline understanding of what he looks like. The real insight will come if you take the time to do some real research about the player, whether watching video, listening to people who have watched, studying the charting, etc. Same thing for the other comps. Hooker compared to Geno is interesting, because Geno had some great production in college. But I don't really think they play the same way.
  15. The comparison makes sense. Big, strong, athletic, big arm, gunslinger mentality, weird mechanics from the ground up, questionable decision making under pressure, older draft prospect... And I get the sense that watching Levis snap to snap, week to week, you also get that white knuckle 'what's he going to do this time' kind of experience, like we got with Wentz. There are also differences in their play style and abilities, but it's not lazy or mean spirited to make this comp.
  16. I watched a handful of his games a few months ago, there's something there at times. But he's small, not super athletic, he'll turn the ball over, his decisions are iffy at times... I don't have a strong opinion on him either way tbh.
  17. Levis and the Levi company have to be working on a campaign already, right? If Bubly could make it work with Michael Buble, this should be automatic.
  18. Biggest reason to hope the Colts don't draft Levis is so I don't have to keep seeing moosejawcolt type "Levi".
  19. Or maybe we're just overlooking the obvious... I mean, Levis has a Bible verse tattooed on his right bicep guys. His throwing arm is infused with scripture. We should have been all over this all along, as soon as the Panthers traded up.
