Great play, Wentz!
-
The bad momentum started on offense.
Nelson needs to stop with the bad technique.
Reich needs to realize he cannot rely on his defense to win this game, cut out the conservative play calling when a negative play occurs.

Sieve defense alert

Really important if defense can get a three and out here.
49ers wiil come out with some vertical shots and test depleted secondary.

Still have no idea what Shanahan was challenging with that flag. He might reassign with who on his staff helps him with challenges

I don’t understand the rule there. He muffed the punt and literally recovered it in the endzone. How is that a touchback?

Ridiculous

Someone needs to settle Wentz down. He is starting to go 2020 Philly hero mode.
Weather conditions are not helping, but he really should not make any throws with his feet not set. The ball is too slowly slick to pull that off tonight and mak accurate throws.

That Fisher - Bosa matchup is killing us so far.
Carson needs to probably eat the sack there, but the counter point is that is also neuters a lot of his skill set at keeping plays alive; its a fine line we used to see a lot with Luck.
-
Good down for a tight formation to show run and run some play action off it.
-
LBs need to do a better job of plugging those gaps.
Seems like 49ers pass game is dependent on play action and bootlegs so far.

It's incredible how Wentz gets injured all the time. Peyton played 13 years and never missed a game, Rivers never a missed a game either. We played well today but the L is all that counts.
Its no coincidence that both Peyton and Rivers were guys who got rid of the ball quick based really knowing pre-snap a lot times where they were going with ball.
They were not QBs who played “off script” a lot

Wentz literally said "I can't" after trying to walk it off. It was his call. Not that I expectany to be ok after that tackle.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he has an ankle fracture based on his history and the way his ankle was wrenched

Most anti-climatic NFL debut ever...
Gotta feel for Eason. He was put in tough situation there
-
Wentz hurt...unfortunately, it is not unexpected. It was only a matter of time with the way line was playing along with Wentz’s tendency to try to make something on every busted play.
-
Here is the thing, we have spent four 2nd rounders and a 1st rounder on DE types for this D. None have popped as an impact player and one hasnt even played an NFL snap yet.
-
Too good to be true with this defense...
Still cant generate rush with 4.
Seriously, has Eberflus ever heard of press coverage? Receivers have free access everywhere.

Outside CB has not been our problem this year....
On D in order of bad
1. Flus scheme stinks
2. Ss are swiss cheese
3. LBs can't cover
4. DEs... are they on the field?
5. DL can't stop the run
5 years into Ballards tenure here....

Didn’t Irsay just give him and Ballard extensions. He is not going anywhere soon. IMO…Irsay should have waited on Reich to see if Carson is any good since Frank wanted him here. If Carson deal goes south and Colts are losing games then they look silly extending Reich.
Yes, but keep in mind this is the same Irsay who mindlessly extended Pagano along with Grigson in 2016 when he could have had Sean Payton instead.
Jim’s decision making with these things is not very good...

100% on Wentz pressing there. One of his flaws trying to do too much sometimes. That was not there.

The "character" of this team is a joke. I don't expect to hear much talk about the locker room culture and amazing nonsense anymore.
I agree. That is just sound bite stuff by Ballard that is designed to play well in Indy market.
Unfortunately, certain media types bought it without any critical thought otherwise.
-
Good to know 5 years into Ballard regime, despite all resources put in, this defense is still awful.
Next time, hire a reputable, good defensive coordinator and let him or head coach dictate the scheme instead of the GM.
World beaters against below avg QBs though.
Reich’s play calling last set of downs was bad, but this defense is something else . No confidence in them against any good offense.

Baltimore deja vu.
Defense has to finish the job. Thats how games are closed in NFL.
