And let's not leave out that Ballard also oversaw the changing out of defensive coordinators in such a manner that [a] we no longer play ultra-soft on 3rd and long, [b] won't have to make wholesale personnel changes to implement the new defense, and [c] have a new coordinator that has had previous success in the past and not some position coach who's never done this before.

I, for one, am going to be sorry to see Pascal go. No, he's not starter material. No, he isn't amazing. But he always showed up. He did everything anyone asked him. From WR to Gunner to ironing everybody's jerseys (if they asked). You should never have a Zach Pascal starting for you. But everyone should have a Zach Pascal on their team.

I'm positive that the Colts will acquire a free agent QB before the draft.

Ok, here's a new candidate. Since we obtained Adam Vinatieri over 10 years ago. Frank Gore, 2015 to 2017 3 years, 48 games, 2953 rushing yards, 789 rec yards, 19 total TD's.

If we're talking pure free agents, then it's probably Adam Vinatieri. If we include trades, then I would guess Eric Dickerson.

Wow. That's big time quarterback money. For a wide receiver. If ever there was the opposite of a Ballard trade, that's it right there.

I've talked myself back off of the ledge. Am back to the "relax, be patient" status. As @NewColtsFan says, it's only been one day. Just one. By June, Ballard will have 1 - Obtained a free agent QB. We just don't know which one that is yet. 2 - Signed a free agent LT. We just don't know which one that is yet. 3 - Signed the internal free agents he wants to keep. 4 - Possibly signed other external free agents, at whatever price, to help fill needs. (WR? CB? TE? DE?) 5 - Made his draft picks. And we'll be going into training camp with a new roster, a new defense, a new QB, and new opponents to prepare for. Just relax. We can complain about the roster he's assembled, once he's assembled it.

And my top free agent signing is now off the board. Poo.
