  1. I didn't state it.......smarter NFL than you and I stated it...... But, I am tired of this conversation so let's just agree to disagree and move on - because I know I am!
  2. All under Luck. And damn near every person in the fan base (and those complaining right now) wanted him run out of town.......hmmmmmm Remember Luck unexpectedly retired AFTER the draft and free agency in 2019 so Ballard has done what he could to keep us competitive since then! Doubt Grigson would maintain a .500 record under those circumstances ESPECIALLY since he's barely worked in a front office with any type of responsibility since getting fired. He's been a "consultant" and an "advisor" since his departure...... Cleveland Browns (2017) Senior personnel executive Seattle Seahawks (2018–2019) Senior football consultant Cleveland Browns (2020–2021) Senior football advisor Minnesota Vikings (2022–present) Senior football advisor
  3. Exactly, maybe we can get the honey badger at a lower number with similar or better production? We will have to be patient and see though! Having said that I do agree that Williams would be a good get......still, those price tags are just hard to swallow!
  4. Hahahahaha yeah he retired because he was injured, not because of Ballard. But spin away.....
  5. Embarrassing myself.....lol You have your opinion and I have mine. We'll see who's looks better moving forward. You do realize that Ballard was rated the best talent evaluator and 6th best GM overall as recently as 2021......doubt you will get your regime change!
  6. I never took anything personal! LOL Having said that I see this spending money theme and I equate it to something I do in my personal life as a hobby. I run three adult softball teams. Two of which compete at a national level which requires travel on weekends to various parts of the country. My team plays for me for the love of the game and while I have sponsors who pick up the tab on a few things, for the most part myself and my guys fund our own travel and our own lodging out-of-pocket. We play against teams that 'buy' their talent by promising to pay for travel and lodging and even some of them get paid per diem for the weekend. We routinely beat most of those teams because "we are built, not bought". So from my perspective you don't need to 'buy' a roster no matter what the sport is. I'm sure you can see why I align with Ballard's build a bear type philosophy now.....build thru the draft and spend shrewdly and wisely in FA.....I do the same thing. I built the core of the team with solid recruiting and we add a piece here or there every off-season that fits in with our team concept - and they almost always come from those high priced teams! now back to our regularly scheduled bickering.......
  7. And Grigson had Luck.....Luck retired on Ballard and most GM's wouldn't have a 41-40 record after losing their Franchise QB unexpectedly AFTER the draft and Free Agency had passed for that season! Try again....
  8. Would you deny that those players are worthy of a pro bowl selection? Ryan Kelly was more than likely sympathy but lets not act like when he is in the lineup he's been pretty darn good. As far as the metric, yes, to claim the wheels are falling off of the team simply because of the three same spots that EVERY NFL team always struggles to fill is just as outlandish. So I spoke fire to fire in that regard. Aside from the fact that most of these same complainers wanted Wentz gone and now that he is OMG the world is imploding.....what did they expect after shipping Wentz off? Ballard is pretty calculated so did people really think he would trade Wentz just to trade him? There is a plan we just don't know it yet and THAT is why folks are up in arms. No patience whatsoever.... Having said that, thank you for the kudos Flash! I enjoy reading your commentary as well!
  9. I don't know, but if I'm trying to build for a Super Bowl I would prefer to keep my potential losses due to injury and not an NFL decision..... Just my semi-conservative nature I guess?
  10. Let's keep this about Ballard and how he assesses the players worth. He spends cash on free agents, just not the free agents the fans, including you, want. Every year he does it, it's just not the NFL Network Free Agent Frenzy worthy type of signing where teams win the off-season but struggle to win in season! I'll take Ballard's approach over 99% of the other GM's that throw cash against the wall then find themselves in cap hell a couple years later and fired..... Nothing you say will sway me from that opinion! So, let us just agree to disagree!
  11. So what......teams are led by their QB's and that problem has been removed. How are the wheels falling off with 7 pro bowlers on the current roster? "The NFL announced Pro Bowlers for each team on Wednesday evening, and seven Colts players have earned a spot. Those players are running back Jonathan Taylor, linebacker Darius Leonard, cornerback Kenny Moore II, left guard Quenton Nelson, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, center Ryan Kelly and long snapper Luke Rhodes." ~ Stampede Blue, December 23rd, 2021
  12. For those of you poo pooing on everything Ballard right now, let me throw this at you! The genius of Ballard..... We all know that MOST GM's would never trade a player to a division rival, especially one of Watson's prowess. But Ballard reached out to the Watson camp and the Texans to ask for a chance to meet with Watson. The TEXANS said no per all the reports, not Watson's camp. Why is this genius you wonder? Watson is the one with the no-trade clause in his contract, not the Texans. If he does his meetings with the other teams and is not interested in what they are selling him - Watson himself can force the Texans to trade him to the Colts if they want any compensation back for him..... Even though Ballard knew the answer would be no initially, Watson knows there is interest. What competitor wouldn't want the opportunity to kick the butt of the team that gave up on them - twice a year! Food for thought while you all are bashing him for the "same old, same old" crap!
  13. Grigson closed the deal on free agents he brought in.....look how that turned out
  14. 7 pro bowlers says that is a lie. Sad that you, and others feel the wheels are falling off...... Find another team if you feel that way....
  15. Yeah I heard the rumors.....Ballard probably didn't want to pay that much or maybe he felt the Broncos were a better fit for them? Who knows. I do know if I were a GM I'd be hesitant to sign a player to big money that is one strike away.....
  16. We win with a solid roster in spite of Luck setting this team back 5 years. That is Ballards doing. Get over yourself and try not to think like a juvenile Madden GM.....
  17. Marcus Williams 5/70 Randy Gregory 5/70 That is serious cabbage for those two Christian Kirk the 3rd highest paid WR You folks really expect the Colts to just throw away money like that? Gregory is one strike away from being kicked out of the NFL and they gave him that contract? Seriously. You folks need to look around at this lunacy.....
  18. Let's be real clear on this.........if the Bucs did not allow that nonsense, single coverage deep ball in the waning seconds of the game we would not even be talking about the Rams or the Stafford deal in any other light than they bet the entire farm on a high priced free agents and one trade. That ball drops or he's double covered and Stafford gets sacked on that play the Bucs probably march to the SB again....... That one trade, btw, that we never stood a chance in making because the Lions new front office that year drafted Jared Goff and wanted a starting caliber QB in return PLUS the picks. We did not meet their trade criteria so we were never in the running - before you blame Ballard!
  19. To be fair Parris Campbell was supposed to be the new TY.........he went from never injured (to my recollection) to injured every year in the NFL.....and he has the talent but not the availability. While you should never count on any draft picks I do think Patmon and Strachan have the ability to play well in this league - but will they? Will Campbell every get healthy? If anything I think Ballard's pride may be his weakness in sticking with players too long. Kind of blew that theory up with the one and done with Wentz - BUT - I still think that decision was ALL Frank's (including Rivers) and the GM trusted in his coach. It backfired so now I think that Ballard is going to make his own decision regarding our next QB.
  20. I understand your POV! There was data involved in those articles that is why I suggested you google them! LOL I am 'trusting' that Ballard will fix the issue and I guess I have more patience than most on here so that is my issue - but, Rome wasn't built in a day and Ballard has a lot of 'meh' type options out there that (in my opinion) don't provide us with what we truly want - a franchise QB. He has to shoot the moon on a scouting play to really solve the issue THIS year and that is with Jordan Love or a draft pick. None of the other options, including Garoppolo solve anything other than we have a QB for 2022 not named Sam Ehlinger. I still stand by my comments on Luck derailing this franchise and putting us in this purgatory type position where IN GENERAL the roster is solid enough to with 50% or more of it's games in spite of 4 QB's in 4 years......
  21. Of you don't, it doesn't fit your narrative! Facts are only a google search away my fellow 'fan'!
  22. The evidence is that he was voted as the 6th best GM overall and the number one talent evaluator.......how soon people forget as that was in 2021 when that was posted all over the internet!
  23. As of right now, not even 24 hours into free agency. I hope you're not this pessimistic in all areas of life because you'd probably be an awful miserable person if that were the case!?
  24. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Ballard didn't sign the players YOU wanted to bloated contracts yesterday. Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh do you need a wambulance to come pick up your feelings? @$%& your feelings! I saw people say the Jags are makin' moves - they also WAY OVERPAID! Oddly enough, if Ballard overpaid and a contract were to become an albatross you'd complain about that too! Cry me a river......this ain't Madden and this ain't Burger King.
