No, they'll game plan for Briskett, no game plan needed to play against ST, just overload against the run and ST will throw it directly to the D anyway.
Very succinctly stated.

I seriously hope Pagano isn't thinking about starting Tolzein again.
I seriously hope he's not thinking about starting Luck.

No it is not. But then, when you look at it Pagano is moving toward the death of his time in Indy.
You could look it up before insisting...
It means to commit suicide.

Jimbo exemplifies the danger of making a boat load of money. Inherited money is one way to make an offspring irresponsible. They have success tgey never earned. They never learned anything because everything is handed to them. Usually, a family can only make it one or two generations beyond the guy who swung the axe before petering out.

Hey! Your theoretical gerbbish left out the fact Pagano already took the pipe for it. He told the players in the locker room at half time and in his post game dribble took the blame as well. So call Ballard first thing Monday and give him your thoughts.
"Take the pipe " is an idiom that means to commit suicide.

Pagano actually confused the Rams with the 49ers in his presser.... This guy is something else...
Maybe the team prepared to play the Niners and weren't ready for such a dramatic roster change.

What do the folks who believed the OLine was much improved have to say about the performance today?

Based exclusively on first half so far, we are in good position to gain #1 pick on 2018 draft.
We'll be fighting the Pats for that pick.

This OLine is not ready for prime time. I'm glad Andrew isn't playing. Maybe the line will make improvements before he returns. They are not good.

I'm sorry but the stats say you were simply not paying attention last year.
I know you're a new member, but this was widely discussed last year.
Over the last 6 games of the season, Luck was sacked just 9 times. We were top 5 in the NFL in that span.
We gave up 35 sacks in the first 10 games. We were bottom 5 in the NFL in that span.
So, there was not only improvement, but there was HUGE improvement.
And that happened with 2 rookies, and even 3 rookies the last 3 games starting.
Joe Philbin is widely considered one of the TOP OL coaches in football. The Colts are lucky to have him.
A belated welcome to the website to you......
I'm sorry, but the Jaguars game and Broncos game are still vivid. I understand stats say there was improvement, but I'm not sold. Why are they shuffling the line around so much if it was on the right track?
Thanks for the welcome.

I haven't heard pagano blame philbin for anything. He can sure blame grigson though, the guy who brought in all those players.
Pagano is responsible for getting the players in the best position to win. He can coach them up himself, he can supervise assistants, he can consult a fortune teller for all I care. Philbin was new last season and it looked like more of what we've seen for years. No improvement. Maybe they'll figure it out before Luck is crippled.

Didnt realize chuck was the OL coach. When did that happen?
Head Coach can't blame the OL Coach when the OLine has sucked for years. It's like Harry Truman said about the buck being passed.

Thanks Grigson. Way to coach 'em up Chuck.

I was looking on some Boston sports page for info on Brissett. Not much found, unfortunately.
I did find a story about Dorsett and what someone thinks he might bring. That story had a statement that I think most on this board would agree with:
"Dorsett caught plenty of criticism in Indy for failing to live up to his first-round draft stock, but since-fired general manager Ryan Grigson overstocked his locker room with talented receivers, ignored the offensive line and devoted minimal attention to the backup quarterback position."

Colts win a close one, 4-2.

It wasn't Heath Evans. It was Maurice Jones Drew.

There you go again with that careless us of OR.
If Brissett learns the playbook but Luck is not ready to play, the Colts are not likely to start Brissett and cut Tolzien. That would leave them with no backup.
I agree Brissett will likely start if they're happy with him in practice. I don't agree that Tolzien will be cut as soon as Brissett "learns the playbook". That leaves the team without a backup. If Luck is well enough to play, he'll start. They're not going to go with 2 QBs until Luck is ready to play. So it's not an "or" situation, IMO.
-
I agree with that statement. I don't agree with the "or".
"I suspect they'll release Tolzien after Luck becomes healthy or JB learns the playbook, whichever one happens first."
If JB learns the playbook AND Luck is healthy. Not OR.

They can't release Tolzien until Luck can play. Even if Brissett magically surpasses him tomorrow, unless Luck can play or they sign another QB.

Your ridiculous and out of your mind if you don't think Brissett (or any other QB for that matter) wouldn't look better playing for that coach in that system with that team, than they would playing for Pagano in the Colts system with the Colts team. Cassel never started a game in college, but when Brady got hurt he throw for over 400 yes in two games and went to the pro bowl, got a big contract and never could hold down a starting job again In his career and he is just one of the backups that has looked all world with that coach team and system, yeah and after five super bowl wins, I would say this coach and system is on to something.
You said any QB can make the non-challenging throws in the Pats offense. That's stupid.
My statement was accurate. If the Pats system was so easy, everyone would copy it.
-
He replaced Garropolo mid-game, which the Pats were leading and eventually won. He started two games, a win against Houston and a loss to Buffalo. He must be pretty poised.
Puzzling - he led them to a 27-0 win against Houston's D, and then couldn't score a point against Buffalo!

It's not about how difficult it easy to learn the system, it's about how incredibly easy the throws and plays are to make in the NE system (very short, high completion percentage passes) rarely ever asked to make a difficult pass or play, for that matter. Playing Quarterback for the Pats is a lot like auto pilot all the pressure is taken off the QB, unlike the Colts where all the pressure (difficult throws and plays) are put squarely on the QB's shoulders, if you think 16 & 7 have sucked wait till you see this guy away from auto pilot.
That response is so ridiculous I won't respond, except to point out that most teams in the NFL have crappy quarterbacks. If the Patriots had truly discovered some system that made it easy on crap QBs, it would be emulated. The NFL is a copycat league.

Just think if the forum was drafting in 2015, we'd be talking about how great Landon Collins is.
This team would be no worse if they polled the fans on every decision.
If they polled only before 5 PM, the decisions would be better.
