Just noticed the Bills signed Mike Edwards, who I believe the Colts had him round for a visit.

In the way we predominately play Cover 3 single high safety, which is a lot less common in today’s NFL. I don’t have the interview but I remember Bradley recently speaking about the difficulty in finding a Center fielder that has the speed and range to play the role. And I don’t see someone in the draft that could come in and start either. Hence why I suggested Simmons and Diggs could be the best options.

I’m really interested in seeing what Ballard does with the FS position, given how important the position is in Bradley’s defense. That’s under the assumption that he won’t want to have Thomas as the starter given Thomas’ struggles and subsequent benching last season. And also Cross then struggling too, who is more of a SS imo anyway. Just wonder, or maybe hoping, that we might be seeing Justin Simmons calling in for a visit in the coming weeks. To see if he still is moving well enough at 30. I reckon there is enough cap space to sign him by the looks of things. Diggs could be another option. I don’t know do I see a solution in the draft to be honest, there are not many FS options and the good ones are split and not single high.

Colts Best 2024 Draft Prospect Fits
Colt Overseas replied to Defjamz26's topic in NFL Draft, Scouting, and Free Agent Talk
I like Cedric Grey too, possibly could be there in round 3. Good size, length and athletic. Cooper, Wilson and Nubin are my favourites in round 2. -
Understood, but I just don’t get the sense that these reporters truely have good sources, or sources at all. If they did have contact with people in the building, I think we would have heard about Flacco or Davis beforehand. With that being said, I would be surprised if Ballard didn’t discuss a possible trade.

They probably like Mo as he is their best in-line blocker. Ogletree and Woods have showed a small bit of a potential but right now given their situations I don’t think the Colts can put all their eggs in that basket. I think if they cut Mo it’ll be after the preseason games if they think they have a good enough blocking tight end to take over.

Shaping up to be like most other off-season under Ballard. Re-sign our own, few mid-tier and min vet signings. Build through the draft. Maybe this year we make the playoffs. But if not, and we have the same issues as last season, you’d have to think where we’re going with Ballard and his roster construction philosophy.

I'm not sure does anybody outside the organisation have sources. Nobody had the Raekwon Davis deal. It's easy saying they are going to re-sign their own and sign top-tier FAs. If a online account is releasing information beforehand on lesser known/mid tier FA deals, then those might be worth reading in to.

I see were re-signing Ronnie Harrison. I'm OK with our situation at SS with Cross and Harrison. I thought Cross was good at SS when given the oppertunity, struggled against HOU in the last game, but that was at FS. But don't see much drop off from Blackmon to Cross. Harrsion is a solid backup. I'd like to sign a vet FS though.

Possible Free Agents (MERGE)
Colt Overseas replied to Zoltan's topic in NFL Draft, Scouting, and Free Agent Talk
Is Byard’s contract a tad rich? For a guy just released. Understand he was once very good, but thats been a couple of years ago and he is in his 30s now. Was hoping the safety market would be cheap for us.
