Just want to add, we’ve got a real gem in Dayo Odeyingbo. Had 1.5 sacks today, could have had another only for a penalty. He is a really good player for us, either on the interior or edge.

Players to Watch for 2024 Draft
Colt Overseas replied to Zoltan's topic in NFL Draft, Scouting, and Free Agent Talk
It feels like if we picking in the 18-22 range of the draft, we should be either looking to trade up or back. I sort of feel like with the roster we have, we should be looking to trade up and start taking shots at elite talent. The roster has decent depth now, especially with a lot of younger players stepping up in positions like WR and CB. But it’s elite players we want to find now. Need a WLB too, but I’d be looking for another Bobby Okereke type in the 3rd round, something like that. Ballard is good at drafting LBs infairness. -
It’s a pity we didn’t re-sign Bobby Okereke last off season. I understand why, as Leonard was coming back from injury. But he played the WLB really well alongside Zaire last season. I wonder if there is a way we could trade for him, probably not.

Julian Blackmon has really settled into SS these past few weeks. Being playing really well and making plays. Himself and Kenny Moore have been doing a great job leading an inexperiened and banged up secondary.

Dayo and Buck were very good.

I think the game depicts just far away the Colts are from contending for anything.

Leaving Tony Brown out there is inexplicable really. -

I never thought I see as bad a cornerback as Darrell Baker Jr, but Tony Brown might be worse. -

Downs is a stud. What a talent. -
Well at least we know we definitely have a dude in Josh Downs at WR. Hope Brents is ok.
-
Thought the younger guys Fries and Freeland played really well. Vets were excellent too.
-
Agreed, I think Steichen is doing a heck of a job with the playcalling.

Jonathan Taylor comments on his contract/Request trade (Merge)
Colt Overseas replied to GoColts8818's topic in Colts Football
Good news on Taylor, but Jelani remaining on IR is very worrisome. He has had that hamstring injury for months now. With Kwity, he'll be a loss but Dayo had arguably his best game for the Colts yesterday. Not worried about the LDE position this weekend, actually having a 6'5, 280 pound edge might be a good thing against Henry. -
That's a fair point.
-
It would be good if he could give Richardson a legit deep threat target. We just haven't gotten that from Pierce this season yet.
-
Some good analysis on JuJu Brents. Really excited to see more of him this season.

Was really impressed with the defensive front today. Ebukam, Big Grove, Buck, Paye, Speed, Franklin and Leonard. And some decent depth pieces contributing, Bryan, Dayo, etc. Feels like this unit is as good as we've had in a long time here in Indy. Tough, physical, can rush the passer. JuJu Brents having a strong showing is another major positive. I think the young secondary will continue to improve this season with more experience. Bradley is earning his wage.
-
I was also impressed with how hard Ebukam played the run too. Big difference to what we got from Ngakoue last year.

Martin is a good rusher, has plenty of good tape in the NFL. Should be a good backup to Ebukam with value on 3rd down.

If a team offers a 2nd rounder, I'll just take it and run lol. I'd be surprised if we get a 1st or a package that equivalates to a 1st, but you never know, it just takes one team. -
preseason football 2023 Preseason Game #2: Bears @Colts, 8/19/23, 7PM ET

Yes at least from listening to Ballard and Irsay in recent days, they are talking positively about Taylor and are hopeful of getting this situation resolved. Like to be honest, and knowing Taylor, this seems to be all on Taylor's agent that has made this situation difficult. -

The ony thing I took from Irsay there was it does seem that Taylor is genuinely injured. And that Ballard/Taylor haven't agreed on a way forward yet. So pretty much nothing has changed in recent weeks.
