  1. As much as people like to complain about Trent, Boom YPC yesterday were on 2.7

Dont get me wrong, I don't mind Boom but if people continuously bring up Trent's YPC, atleast be consistent. although Boom may run harder, there are still inconsistencies in run blocking for the Oline.

    a

Also, Trent IMO is a good pass blocker and a good catcher out of the backfield.

In games where Trent was putting up these type numbers the other backs were getting 4.0 or 5.0, I doubt seriously that Trent could have averaged 1 yard per carry yesterday, and had he still been playing, and he and Boom splitting every other series our season would be over. We rarely ever scored any points on the series where Trent was featured, this is why I have said all season that he was holding this team back, we were basically conceding that we were not going to score, every other series. Since sitting Trent the offense has become much more efficient. Trent by being benched, has made his biggest contribution to this team winning.

  2. Cribbs really worries me, his refusal to call a fair catch is getting more risky each week, I know he wants to make a play, but not at the risk of what's best for the team. He's been doing this every since we signed him, but seems to be taking more and more of a risk each week. It's ok to call a fair catch when the return is not there. He's got to quit taking such huge risk.

  3. I like what he's done and seems to be very good at making the calls. he has less game experience than Shipley or Harrison, but seems to get better and more comfortable each week. I hope he is our center of the future, we can let all three work through the off season and battle it out in training camp. May the best man win.

  4.    He's a real warrior, you could tell he was playing with a lot of pain, but wasn't about to come off the field. He leaves nothing on the field, gives it everything he's got on every play. His pass protection has been excellent the past two weeks, and not just getting in the way of the rusher, really stopping them cold in their tracks. His style of play reminds me so much of Bradshaw, a never say die, kind of player that just keeps on fighting.  He rarely has any carries for negative yards, even when the hole is not there he stills manages to get something. Those little 3-5 yard carries he was getting yesterday didn't seem like much, but it kept the defense honest, if he could have the kind of game this week, that he had against the Bengals (or better) it would be huge for us. It still feels like he's going to have a break out game (over 100 yards) at any time I hope it's this week. 'GO COLTS"

  5. It's incredible what a difference Jones makes in our defense, our defense as a hole is much better, but especially our run defense. He did the same for the Ravens defense last year, they were a yard better against the run with Jones on the field. He has been banged up a lot this year, but in the last few weeks with him healthy and playing consistently this defense has been completely different and much more physical.  Great signing by Grigson, as Jones is a true difference maker.

  6. Okay, I finally break down (until next season).  I give up defending Trent..  The forum WINS!!  Unless the Colts decide to draft or bring in at least 2 GOOD interior OL via FA during the offseason, I do want the Colts to finally get rid of Trent.  Only because I can't wait to give some people hell, if he gets picked up by a team with a good OL, and turns his career around.  It's useless playing the what if game, or trying to explain things to know it all fans that if Trent doesn't have a good interior line he won't be successful.  It is what it is, and it's not going to change unless Colts front office quits talking and starts acting.  In order for most players to succeed they need to be a product of a good environment.

You think JackColt and Modern are annoying?  IF this happens I will be the biggest arrogant person on this forum!  If the Colts do make changes up the middle and he still sucks next year, or if he does get picked up by a team with a good OL, and still doesn't do anything, I promise I will apologize to everybody!

Something tells me though the Colts are committed to our young guys with the theory they will be better once they mature.  Next year Trent will still perform sub par while these inexperienced players only get a little better.  Perfect timing for the Colts to not resign Trent when his contract is up and after 3-4 seasons in the league Harrison, Holmes, and Thornton, will finally be somewhat good because they're not so young.

COLTSTRONG?  POWER RUNNING motto is a joke!

1- You have already taken your level of annoying, to record heights, no way you could take it any higher.

2- "unless the Colts decide to bring in two good interior linemen"   Still playing the" WHAT IF GAME" that you like to accuse others of. Still can't admit he sucks, maybe he will be the best special teams player ever!

3- "I can't wait to give some people hell, IF he gets picked up by another team with a good Oline and turns his career around"    Still playing that WHAT IF GAME  I see a pattern forming.   I wouldn't waste much time hoping this happens. but, WHAT IF

4- "it's useless playing the WHAT IF GAME or trying to explain things to know it all fans, that if Trent doesn't have a good interior line, he wont be successful.   Now that is a classic. I don't even know where to start.  I think that pattern has formed.  Hold all calls, we have a winner.  The true king of the "WHAT IF GAME"   It can't be half as useless as trying to explain something to the know nothing fan, that just doesn't get it, and tries to accuse others of the very things they do themselves"

5- I really don't see any way you could become even more annoying, I think you have reached the top.

6-" Something tells me though the Colts are committed to the young guys, with the theory they will be better once they mature"  YA THINK   wonder if Trent taking sucking to a new level had anything to do with that?

7-" next year Trent will still perform sub par, while these inexperienced players only get a little better".  They can't all regress the way Trent has, some will actually get better, either way, they have both shown so much more in a very short time, than Trent has shown in two years.  I guess with a better line they would get worse and Trent would get better. Makes sense.  WHAT IF, WHAT IF

8-" Perfect timing for the Colts not to resign Trent when his contract is up and after 3 - 4 seasons in the league Harrison, Holmes, and Thornton, will finally be somewhat good because they're not so young".   Taken the pathetic level to new heights too.  Waa Waa Waa, poor Trent, why don't the Colts let him suck for a couple more years, till his lineman are not young. This is the most pathetic WHAT IF GAME, of all time,  never cease to amaze,   So it's just a matter of bad timing?   Once he is cut, it will be very hard to take anyone serious, who has so desperately tried to blame anyone but Trent, for his pathetic play, even after the team bent over backwards to try to help him succeed. Sad. so sad that some people can't see the trees, for the forest. Can't have any validity in any future post.

  7. How is that proof of me posting opposition for opposition's sake? He responded to me to begin with.

And again, I misunderstood his initial post. I think we probably cleared it up. Thanks for your retroactive help, though. I don't know where we'd be without you...

That would be because he was right to begin with, and you called his response laughable, even though you had admitted yourself, that you had not  went back and looked at the play. The laughable part was every bit as rude, only difference being he was right. To oppose an opinion, so rudely without actually going back to look at the play closer, is the definition of opposition for the sake of opposition. and again just pointing out something that happens quite often.

With the point being that the block was not the responsibility of Holmes, I really can't see where there could have been any confusion at all, especially with a response that so strongly opposed that point. Looked like a clear understanding, but after further review I guess it became a misunderstanding, how convenient.  Glad you got it worked out, lord only knows where we would be without your superior knowledge, thanks so much for correcting our flaws, and helping us to better understand.

#98 is lined up at DT over the OT. The C makes contact with the DT when he is 3 yards in the backfield making a bee line to the RB. There is no way this play was designed with the C blocking the DT. The C reaches the DT but it is impossible to block him at that angle and I dont think it would ever be drawn up that way. Didnt mean for you to understand that the C never blocks a DT.

You didn't make it sound like you were saying the C never blocks the DT, it was clear that you were talking about this particular play,  You were right, that would not be Holmes assignment .Unfortunately on this board a lot of times you will get opposition,  just for the sake of opposition,  even though you were correct, and it was obvious that you had went back and taken a good look at the play.  Be prepared for things you didn't say, to be argued into your post. This will happen no matter how clear you make your post, no matter how right you are, that is just the way it is on this forum.

  9. Not only Trent though, I've seen the likes of Boom and Bradshaw hit in the backfield aswell and like Trich- have only been able to muster about 1-2 yards. But for whatever reason, could be the formations that are called or the personnel on the field but Richardson seems to be getting more hit in the backfield than the others. Eg on one of his runs there was only 1 WR lined up whereas the rest were TES or a FB. Immediately- I could tell it was going to be a run- and who would've guessed it- it was.

If I could tell it was a run- what chance do RBs like Trent have if the defense knows exactly what we're going to run.

The blocking has been the same for all the backs, the difference is any other back that has carried the ball for the Colts, actually every back except Trent, has the ability to avoid the defenders in the back field. The reason is unless there is a huge hole, Trent can't get you anything, he doesn't have the vision or burst to make something out of nothing, but every single back but Trent, that has carried for the Colts can change direction and get yardage when the initial hole is not there, and they all have been successful, except Trent. Why do some people keep making excuses for this guy, He is absolutely horrible. Trent is the second most unproductive back, with at least 500 carries in the entire history of the NFL. That is not average, that is not mediocre, that is horrible, that means you absolutely suck. It's not the blocking, it's not the formations, it's the back, there have been some really horrible backs in the history of the NFL, but only one has been worse than Trent.

  10. I think it's dumb to say Trent is a bust . Name one person who ran good behind this line .. Bradshaw no sorry most of his Tds were caught as the pocket collapsed .. Herron had 1 or 2 big runs .. Luck has been on his back all year .. Trent gets the ball and the defense is in the backfield .. I watched every game .. Trent is are back and starter he should get 20-25 touches a game not 7-8 touches .. I don't agree with that at all .. I hope we let Ballard Bradshaw and Herron go and get cj spiller he's a younger faster Bradshaw and use t rich to pound it up the middle

" That's funny, I don't care who you are"  BaaaaHaaaa

  11. So you just want to argue with someone about Trent Richardson. We have a whole thread for that.

No I don't want to argue at all, like I said, I made a clear point, didn't see the confusion. Sounded like you wanting to make it an argument about Richardson, I tried to take him out of it, since he didn't apply.

  12. The guy loves to argue.  He will say anything to make his perspective seem true.  He thinks saying his point over and over makes him correct.  He is always trying to use your words in a wrong way, and runs with the idea he makes up in his head and applies it to other circumstances.  He thinks the way he talks is very intelligent and he understands everything, but in realitiy he is the one who gets confused by what people say (I'm referring to an old arguement of ours), so much that he gets upset and says "You make no sense".  Then he proceeds to comment on everyone of your posts, becoming verbally abusive and acting like a child (Who knows? Maybe he is a child!)!!

You my friend are the one that gets abusive and uses the terms ignorant, useless and clueless fans, don't try to put that crap off on me, your frustration with your inability to make a valid point is what leads you to call others ignorant, clueless and the other crap that you want to blame on someone else.  You can easily scroll back and look at previous post. What I don't get is why you are allowed to be so abusive, without any repercussion.  I can't help that you can't make a valid point to back up any of your opinions, and you can go back and look at previous post to see what that's worth.  Don't accuse  me of being verbally abusive, when you are the one using abusive terms. The only way I have abused you verbally, is with valid points, sorry if that offends you, but you are the one getting away with the abusive language and terms,  and like a child, now pointing the finger at someone else.  I don't  use your words in a wrong way, nor could I, you do that all by yourself, you need no help from me,  and yes the majority of the time I am very confused by everything you say, I'm sure not being able to make a valid point is very frustrating.  Scroll back and look at all the people on this forum,  that are completely confused at your attempts at logic.

  13. Not sure what you're looking for. I only responded because your comment makes it seem like Richardson was getting stopped in the 4th. He only had two carries.

Knowing that your point was just that Boom was the one doing the work, there's nothing more to say.

No I didn't try to make it look like Trent was getting stopped,  not at all,  I merely made the point that,  the fact that Trent only had one carry for positive yards in the 4th qtr,  makes it impossible for him to have ran all over anybody in the 4th qtr, and that would be true whether he had 10 carries or 2 if only one went for positive yards, and that also would make it clear that it was Boom doing the majority of the work, which was my point.  Maybe as a Trent apologist,  you were being defensive,  and looking for something, that just wasn't there.  You tend to want to read into things, something that is not there.  All I am looking for, is a response that relates to the point that I am clearly making, not something I'm not saying. That's why I didn't understand the confusion, I made my point clear.  Not every post has a subliminal message in it. Sorry if I confused you, that was not my intent.

  14. He only had two carries in the 4th quarter. The other one was against a stacked box in a pretty clear rushing situation, and the line got wiped out.

Of course, if the point was that Boom was the one doing the work in the 4th quarter, then I obviously agree. He was strong, and just got stronger and stronger on that last drive. And no fumbles...

I don't understand your response. The statement was that Trent and Boom were running all over the Texans in the 4th Qtr.   Which to that: I answered, Trent only had one carry for positive yards in the 4th qtr, but Boom ran all over the Texans.    Your response about the stacked line and clear rushing situation changes nothing.     The fact that Trent had only one carry for positive yards in the 4th qtr remains true. This just helps to make my point even more clear, that Boom was the one doing the work in the 4th qtr. So where is the confusion about the point I'm trying to make.  Opposition just for the sake of opposition, doesn't always apply, especially when the point being made is clear.

  15. He only had two carries in the 4th quarter. The other one was against a stacked box in a pretty clear rushing situation, and the line got wiped out.

  16. I agree Coltslegacy and I've been saying this all year as well.  Here is an example:  Trich starts the game a run for 2 and a run for 3.  Then at 10:20 left in the first quarter Trich gets a nice 6 yard carry on 1st down making it 2nd and 4.  Luck throws two incomplete passes.  Now if that is not bad enough, TRich does not get another running play until the 11:07 mark of the 2nd quarter then he gets a nice 4 yard gain on 1st down.

I just do not understand the play calling.  Maybe it's not Pep maybe Luck keeps changing the play at the LOS to pad his stats.  I don't know but they need try running the ball more than once or twice a possession.  Look what happened in the 4th quarter when they did.  Boom and Trich ran over the Texans.

I don't think for one minute that Luck is trying to pad his stats, He doesn't give a crap about stats, he's calling out of plays because of what the defense shows.

Trich had one carry for positive yards in the 4th quarter, but Boom sure ran over the Texans

Too bad it couldn't have been no more carries for the rest of the game.
