The Chiefs aren't going to trade him to someone they'll likely be competing against in the playoffs for the next couple years.
-
Estonia rejoices. Glad to have him back.

I liked Harmon initially coming into the combine but he did not test well at all. I think he got jumped by a few WR's and might be available at 59 or later.
Tillery, Love and Hooker I am all for.

Is Winovich a scheme fit? He seems like a 3-4 body type a-la John Simon.
-
Rumor is Cleveland will be going hard after him.
-
For a short term investment if we miss out on Flowers and Preston Smith? Sure. Ballard knows him better than anyone. Him or John Dorsey.

This place will be nuts over the next 2-3 weeks.
Absolutely. Especially with all the misinformation that is always spread around in the FA frenzy. The last two years should teach us that we shouldn't always believe reports linking the Colts to anybody.
-
This place will go nuts when he signs elsewhere.

I've come out of the combine thinking Tillery could be the guy as well. Him, one of the safeties or trade back.
-
The safeties are showing out. Abram, CGJ, Thornhill, Savage, Hooker having good days. I'll be surprised if the Colts don't address safety this offseason.

I want to be clear. I love Bush. If Ballard thinks he can play the Mike, then I’ll trust his judgement over others.
But I want to maximize the picks... I’m just not sure we can do that if his best pro position is Will and we have Leonard.
I'm with you. I think we're saying the same thing in different ways lol

Pass. Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane.

Bush could play SAM?
Do you really want to use a first round pick on a position that we only use roughly 25 percent of the time?
Sam is the spot we’ll pull when we go nickel and dime. We do that roughly 65 percent of the time.
No, I didn't say I would use a first round pick on him. I wouldn't, I don't think it's good value at all. I was just responding to the comment that he was too small to play MIKE in the cover 2.
He could play SAM if they wanted him on the field (Matt Adams is not much bigger), but could also play in the nickel package with Leonard.

The profiles I read don’t describe a Mike, they describe a Will. I think he’s too small and his great athleticism would get lost in the traffic of the middle.
FWIW, Gary Brackett played Mike in this system at smaller than Bush. However, I don't think Walker has done anything to warrant replacement. Bush COULD play SAM but would make his money in sub packages.

Bortles always played god-like against the Colts anyways Foles just makes them better against the other teams on their schedule. Good draft position for them to grab another stud too. They'll rebound if the locker room isnt completely cancerous at this point.

Keith Sweat has a better chance of wearing the Horseshoe than Montez Sweat after his combine. Sure fire top 10 now.
-
If Metcalf's medicals turn out ok, he cemented himself in the top 15 IMO. I think the depth at receiver is really good in the 2nd and third rounds, a good starter could be found at 34 or even 59. Butler, Campbell, Brown, Samuel, McLaurin would all be good picks around then. I really liked Harmon but he may fall to an early 3rd pick after running slow.
-
I just don't think Ballard is going to trade picks for guys. Especially at his current price.

Quick, somebody sign Booger as well!
Good for Witten. I'll never root for the Cowboys but I hope the old guy does well.

I think this could be similar to Mewhort last year. Relatively inexpensive one year deal but still look to upgrade at the position.

Considering Ballard was willing to splurge on Andrew Norwell last season, I see no reason he wouldn't do same with Flowers. Like Norwell, Flowers in a young FA in an area of great need.....seems like a no brainer.
That's true, but Norwell was a bonafide all pro worthy of being paid as one of the best at the position. I view Flowers as really good, but not great. More the product of being the best of a bad FA crop. I just think he'll get paid like one of the best in the game which may be above Ballards threshold for him. We will see though. If he does sign I'll eat crow and be pretty happy about it.

“Obvious bust”. You don’t understand the concept of 7 touchdowns on 21 catches, do you? You might take a look at which other receivers average a TD every 3 catches. At this point I’ll guess that the answer will blow your mind. You call him an obvious bust after 1 season and 7 TD receptions.
Cherry picking one stat but ignoring the body of work isn't helping your argument.
How about the fact that he's only caught 21 of his 60 career targets. That's 35%. His Drop rate is 12%. As mentioned before his 10 yards per catch for someone with 4.22 speed is terrible. Yeah he scored 7 td's but so what, so did Moncrief one year and we all know he isn't good. Someone always has to score on a bad team.
In college he was injury prone and a one year wonder who was overdrafted due to that 4.22 40. He does not play nearly to that speed. He's a track star in pads at this point. Watch the tape, he can't run a full route tree and is soft.
You sir are a madman, but your conviction is admirable.

In light of this information.... I wouldn’t complain if we took T.J. Hockenson early on, unless one of the top 3-tech DTs drop.
If TJ Hockenson is there he'd be by far the best player available. He's a stud and can do all the dirty work Doyle does and more. I'd be all for it but I think he'll shoot up the boards after the combine.

Oh please. I said if we can get him for a 5th or cheaper it’s worth a shot. And if he doesn’t make it out of training camp oh well.
You came along with a foolish statement and then doubled down on it (weakening your own argument in the process by conceding that Dorsett gained less yards than I actually gave him credit for,) and I’m just presenting you with the facts to prove your initial statement was a load of complete rubbish.
Now you’re trying to deflect.
Come on.
You're writing a novel each time to defend and make excuses for an obvious bust. I have no quarrel with you I just can't fathom your stance on Ross and why you're getting so worked up about him. Yes, my original Dorsett comment was meant as a joke, but as bad as he was the fact is he had over 3 times as many yards through his first two years as Ross.
What free agents would you like to sign.

Re-sign Desir
Preston Smith
Landon Collins
Adam Humphries
Adrian Philips (if Collins goes elsewhere)
I think that would be a great FA haul that wouldn't put too huge a dent in the surplus cap space.
