  1. I get the point. Had Herbert been a bust, this wouldn't even be a discussion is one of my points. Redskins gave up the farm for RG3 and look at what happened. 49ers for Lance, Bears for Trubisky - didn't work out. More times than not, trading up doesn't land you a franchise QB. You have to be lucky.
  2. Regarding Luck, never said it did, I was just bringing up hindsight. The reason why I keep bringing up my response on this, most GM's would never trade up to 4 from 13 unless they knew a QB was a can't miss. If other GM's that needed a QB thought Herbert was a can't miss, they would have traded up to 4. Not 1 GM did that.
  3. A distraction for Ballard. I wonder sometimes if Ballard thinks he isn't real important on certain decisions. That is where I was going with it.
  4. In order to get Herbert we would have had to trade up to #4 because Miami needed a QB at #5 - they took Tua, and the Chargers needed one at #6. They weren't trading their picks. Not only that, Ballard would have needed to be able to read into the future and know without a doubt that Herbert would be good. A lot of if's there. How's this for hindsight, we could have drafted Josh Allen in 2018 at #6 to back up Luck, at the time nobody was sure that Allen would good to great. Had we even done that, we would've had Allen as our QB for the next decade. Allen went 7th to the Bills.
  5. Hard to debate this because some of things Irsay says is mindboggling. I do think he is a great owner (he wants to win) but he often talks too much which causes distractions as well.
  6. Robert Craft is a model citizen (not) and he won 6 SB's. What he did blows away what Irsay did in terms of being a good person.
  7. I have been hearing at least the first 2 weeks of the season. Hamstrings are nothing to mess around with.
  8. For a 1 year run at a SB, teams will do many things. Rams were negative 41 million in cap space (sarcasm) and still was able to garner an all-star team. They are paying the price now but they got a SB win out of it. Bills fans of all fans are dying for a SB win with their history. They have a good team but need more to win it all.
  9. Yes and no. If JT is really unhappy and we get a great deal, there is that. In the end, Irsay probably doesn't want to trade him so I don't think he is lying about that.
  10. I think they would enter the Chiefs, Bengals, and Ravens level if they get JT. I am high on the Ravens this year. Without a legit run game, the Jets could very well win that division.
  11. Buffalo also has 9 picks in 2024. They do have a 1st and 2nd round pick.
  12. JT would be a perfect fit in Buffalo. To be able to have a dominant run game in bad weather games is huge.
  13. I am pretty sure the Colts are wanting at least 1st round pick in 2024 from someone. I have no facts to back that up but when Irsay said 3 weeks ago we aren't trading him, I took that as, we aren't trading him unless we get a great deal.
  14. Oh yeah. If I was an agent, I would be telling other GM's/teams I have 5 others that want my player.
  15. I was talking about the stars, once they signed long term deals they usually played their contracts out without complaining. Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Derrick Henry for a RB example. Once they got any long term deal done they have never once complained. Derrick Henry could be making a bigstink right now that McCaffrey is making more money than he is, a lot more at that but he hasn't at all. I pretty much know this, and that is the reason we won't trade him to the Dolphins.
  16. I thought he had more sacks as well but never seen him as a great pass rusher. I looked him up after you posted your OP. I was shocked at how many sacks he has, very little to my surprise.
  17. Yes he did, you are right. Then I remember after the Lakers struggled in 2007, he wanted out of LA as well. He did it twice
  18. Yeah I remember the Carson situation. He ended up having 1 great year with the Cards even. Barry Sanders actually said he wanted to keep playing, that he had a lot left. He retired because Detroit would not trade him and they never gave him enough help to win.
  19. It shouldn't be different, but it is, I say that because this stuff goes on all the time. Not saying it makes it right.
  20. Other than the Dolphins, media keeps saying there is a 2nd team. I am watching the NFL Network right now and they are saying it again. I am guessing the Bills? If the Bills got Taylor, they would probably be favored to win the SB. That would also screw my prediction up of the Jets winning that division because I think the Bills would then.
  21. If it was me, I would tell the media I want out and will never play another down for said team if I was really unhappy. Barry Sanders did it with the Lions.
