    I agree.  10/10 story.

Well, your first paragraph is 50% wrong. Anderson was traded and Melvin walked in free agency. And I’d say Delaire coming in and showing well had more to do with Simon being cut than Basham did, just my opinion though. I’m not thrilled about it either, but good lord.

The rest of your post is just nonsense.

These are the defensive players the team has cut this offseason due to the scheme change: Jon Hankins, Henry Anderson, John Simon, Rashan Melvin.  Uhhhh what?

And the fact Ballard did it to keep a guy, Basham, who can't play?  Boggles my mind.

Why did that happen?  EGO.  Because Ballard drafted Basham and Simon was just a FA pick up.

I told you guys last winter that Ballard came across to me as a guy with a huge ego, and this confirms it.

Not buying this at all.  This team is gonna be bad and possibly unwatchable. Luck tends to start slow in games and get better. If the D is getting gashed on the ground it will shorten games and make comebacks unlikely.    Letting a playmaker go to keep someone who is a prayer is incompetence at its finest. So many (too many) similarities between Ballard and Grigson.

What is the plan here?  Because I don't see one.  Getting rid of hardworking GOOD players sends a very bad message to the rest of the team.

    I'm done with the guy.

    Cool story bro.

Dude your grasping a straws and old straws at that. You nor I were in the room with them. We don't know who lobbied for who. Grigson sucked glad hes gone, A coach might look at some tape and say he looks ok. Grigson a good talent scout nope.

Respectfully, can you take this % somewhere else? Thanks!

Where did you here what you heard?  And what decisions were being talked about.

I read that Pagano went to FSU with RG to work out Werner  It was in the press.  And Zac Keefer just stated that Pagano was pounding the table for TJ.

If RG isn't interested in his input on drafting players, why did he even let CP go to FSU or let CP in the draft room? Obviously he did listen to his input.  They were drafted.

Maybe CP pounded the table for Xavier Rhodes and said that Werner was going to stink.  Never saw that reported

Respectfully, can you guys take this % somewhere else?

    TE Ebron, Howard

    DEF Saints

    K Crosby

Picked 4th in 12 team standard league

Looks good really. Hopefully Johnson picks back up where he left off two seasons ago. I was one of the unfortunate ones who drafted him #1 overall last year.

Make sure you check the waiver wire, and don’t be afraid to drop one of the TE’s if you need to pick up a player or one of them isn’t performing.

That's my draft complete, don't feel great about the result, it seemed to go really fast and its hard to use mock drafts as real practice as so many people leave and it auto-drafts in the late rounds when you need to be able to get value.  I reached on a number of players where, with hindsight, I shouldn't have.

Either way, appreciate the advice from @Btown_Colt and @Lucky Colts Fan that gives me hope that the waiver wire could be my saviour as we go through the season. :goodluck:

    can we see it?

I think the statement that started this was from PacerGeek.

Was Lewis injury prone in college? This is disappointing. If you are going to put all of your eggs into the draft basket, you cannot continue whiffing on high draft picks.

I guess that could be taken as a shot at Ballard.

But it seems more like a simply true statement to me, since hardly any cap space was spent.  And where it was spent, it was for Autry, who plays nearly the same position (interior pass rush) as the guy we traded up for and is now injured.

If simply bringing up facts is considered a shot, well, that's a problem.

So, I guess he didn’t put all of his eggs into one basket then. Correct?

I can't seem to embed tweets here but here are the links.

    From Schefty:

"Jets informed Teddy Bridgewater that he was being traded to New Orleans this afternoon, before the team left for Thursday’s preseason finale in Philadelphia; Bridgewater then stepped on to the Jets’ bus to say goodbye to his summer teammates."

    From Albert Breer:

"Pretty cool move by new Saints QB Teddy Bridgewater: Found out he was being traded, went to the bus to make sure he said good bye to all his Jets teammates before the team took off for Philly for the fourth preseason game."

I agree that is what is being said now...but PT isn’t wrong either. I was watching NFL Network when it came across and they did make it sound like he was on the bus. They were even joking around about him having to get an Uber to New Orleans. Obviously it’s been cleared up now and is understood that he wasn’t on the bus.

    I’ll step away now.

If it's not about winning why did they go for two points in the second preseasoner? ALL games are about winning in the NFL.

Or maybe it was a situation that they were trying to work on? You know, since it’s the preseason and this is the time to do it.

I roomed with guys from Brownstown

Princeton had several wins but Only got out of sectional once(1986) but we were in the same sectional as Evansville Memorial, Heritage Hills, and Jasper

Yea that’s a tough sectional. We were the opposite, our conference and regular schedule was pretty bad. We often blew teams out by 49 points or more. The JV team usually played the entire 2nd half, etc. We went undefeated a lot. Sectionals were usually pretty easy too until the sectional championship game, which was usually pretty tough. In regionals though we usually got our butts beat! Evansville Mater Die (dei?) handed it to us quite a bit, until they got moved up a class.

It was so ingrained in me that how to pull and seal/kickoout in a Wing T O was my demonstration speech in college

Ran it for 6 years in school(7-12) and coached it for 4 more

We also ran the Wing T at Brownstown. I like all the misdirection. You can run several different plays out if the same motions, block scheme. It always worked well for us until we got to regionals.

The Lions signed Blount, drafted Johnson, and have Abdullah and Riddick. They also have Zach Zenner, and a fullback I think they want to keep. Definitely a crowded backfield, and I think two out of Abdullah, Riddick and Zenner don't make it.

Would you like an Abdullah on the Colts? I personally think he would instantly be our best RB and a combo of him and Mack would be pretty good.

I hadn’t considered Riddick, figured he was safe, but I’d take him as well.

I’m willing to trade for a starting RB so send me your offers!

I’d be interested in Michael Thomas and rashad Penny off your team. Take a look at my team and if there is anything that peaks your interest we can talk about it. Not sure if you would be interested in any of my RB’s or not.

  15. 1 hour ago, Narcosys said:

Ya, the RB pool was definitely deeper this year than in previous years I think, but significant drop off after the first 14 or so. While the WR felt like a dime a dozen to me. You have a few elite, and then it's just a crapshoot. I took six WR just because they kept falling to me. I forced myself to pick up my fourth RB in Isiah Crowell just because I didn't want a seventh WR lol.

I mean Melvin Gordon fell to me in the 16th spot, and I hadn't planned for that. It was either him or Michael Thomas, and I figured I would solidify my RB duo. I think it is because McCaffrey went before Gordon, I wouldn't have taken McCaffrey at 16. From there it was three WR in a row, then RB. I was set on getting a TE in the seventh for my draft strategy, as nothing good was ever available by the 8th in my mocks. Another 3 WR, then a RB. I was once again set on picking my QB in round 12 as they were deep this year, I mean I got Big ben in last round for crying out loud.

My original board and plan got changed once Gordon fell to me, but I did get most of the players I was targeting in the rounds I was targeting them in or later.

Yea my draft definitely didn’t go like my mocks did as far as who I was targeting. Looked to me a lot of us were targeting the same players in the same rounds.

I never imagined AB falling to me at 6 and then Hopkins being there again in 2nd. And I wanted Dalvin Cook with my 2nd and he went the pick before me. I forgot just how often and early colts players would be taken too!

And I don’t know why I pulled the trigger in Mahomes when I did, oh well. Over all I think I did ok. It’s gonna be a fun year.
