  1. I was upset with Steichen during the game for continuing to run the same plays every red zone sequence. He ran the same concept of run plays as well.

The good news is: We won, & now teams will be selling out for the run down there more on 1st & 2nd down.

  2. I think he’ll go somewhere to be a bridge QB.

There are so many QB’s this year that will be drafted in the 1st & 2nd round. At least 5. There will be teams looking for a veteran stop gap QB to let their rookie QB learn from.

If there are no options, I can’t imagine him leaving Indy to be a backs up somewhere else.

Pat on his show has repeatedly talked about how bad Reich let things get by 2022. Players late or completely missing meetings, taking bets, bad practices…

The culture was poisoned. No way around it.

I think it was a bad idea for Reich to go right back into coaching. He always looked stressed & looked even worse in Carolina.

Dayo has gotten more snaps with Grover out so that probably has helped pass rush some. But it’s more the change in defense system.

Grover gets pressure up the middle & collapses the pocket. He isn’t a big sack guy, but very solid with interior pressure. This causes QB’s to rollout more & earlier this season, our ends weren’t wrapping up.

Lately, I’ve noticed the pressure is coming off the edge much better. They are making the QB step up in the pocket & Buckner has been there to help close in the pocket. We’ve seen great development as the season has progressed.  I expect it to be just as good with Grover back

  5. Pretty solid mock.

    Like the depth signings.

    2 things:

1.) I think Grover gets at least a 2 year deal. He’s 30 years old, but he’s very underrated. Prior to the suspension, I believe his projected

    contract was 3 year/42 million.

2.) If Kelly retires, we will need to sign a solid vet center or draft one earlier in the 2nd or 3rd round. We can’t risk having a repeat of 2022.

The division is now within reach.  Unbelievable.

Let’s assume Lawrence misses the rest of the regular season. I still think the Jags win 2 of 5 without Lawrence given their schedule. The browns game is a toss up, but they should beat Carolina & Tennessee.

That would put them at 10-7 with the tiebreaker over us.

We’d need to go 4-1 & likely beat the Texans Week 18.

Very possible, but a lot of moving pieces. It’s going to be a very interesting finish to the year

Yeah, I pray they don't get him. Levis will have a nice luxury there. We can still draft a WR like Nabors or Odunze though and either of those guys may be just as great as Marv. AR would have more weapons. Pierce impressed me today regarding our WR's now. Downs and Pittman both are very good, maybe not great but very good IMO.

It’s going to be an interesting draft for us next year. This draft class is loaded at OT, QB, Edge (along with WR & CB). It looks like 12-15 of the top 20 picks are going to be QB, OT, & Edge.

A lot of good players are going to fall to us.

I noticed a lot of Blackmon and Cross today and not a lot of Thomas. Definitely interested in the reason for that, but I wonder if it had more to do with the match-up and trying to bolster the run defense.

I commented earlier in the 1st quarter that they needed to make that switch. Cross is better against the run than Thomas

I don’t know if it made much of a difference and won’t know until I see snap counts but Thomas might of got benched for cross. If so it made a big difference.

I know. Just saying they don’t move up.

How does that work tho? The Texans have the tiebreaker over the Steelers. But, we have the tiebreaker over the Texans.

Can’t remember exactly how a 3 way tie goes when the head to head is split between the group.
