  1. The weather would have affected the Colts balls as well.. we don't even know what the balls PSI measurements were before kickoff yet until the investigation comes out..  but if the Colts had theirs as 13.5 PSI (which is what guys like Aaron Rodgers prefer it at), and the Pats had it at 12.5 PSI (which is what guys like Brady like it at), then if they both had a drop off of 1 PSI, the Patriots balls would non-compliant at 11.5 and the Colts would be in compliance at 12.5.

That isn't a rule violation, the violation would be if they intentionally tampered with the footballs.

The other important point from the physics angle is that the rain had as much, if not more of a hand in affecting the PSI.  When a football becomes saturated in water, it expands.  When something expands, by the laws of physics it has to lose pressure.

    You said 2 PSI. 13.5 - 2 = ?

  2. Remember the ongoing Manning/Brady debates of years back when the Pats were winning Super Bowls and Manning was tearing the league up? To Pats fans it was all about titles and not stats....but when Brady started tearing up the league but the Pats were NOT winning Super Bowls, only titles didn't matter. It's like their fans can't get their arguments straight and will arrogantly and condescendingly defend their team no matter what rule bending and illegal means the team uses. To them the end justifies the means. And THAT's why I hate the Pats and it seems nobody outside of that small East Coast bubble likes them either.

Yep...I. remember when it was all about the rings, nothing else mattered. Now it has changed to its all about the AFC Championship. Post spygate Pats are the early 90's Buffalo Bills...but not as good, those Bills teams went to 4 SBs in a row. So Buffalo Bills Lite...yeah that's it and Brady is Jim Kelly Jr. Nothing more, nothing less. Also, the Pats had to cheat to earn their title as Buffalo Bills Lite. Maybe a better comparison would be the late 80's Oakland A's McGuire and Canseco? No, they at least won 1 World Series.

  3. Because they don't want to destroy their image anymore when it's easy to see a convicted cheater is in the superbowl and just got caught cheating again. Plus Wells is going back to the other tapes to see that the ball boy goes to "the bathroom" with the balls every week and will see how long the cheating goes back.

I was wondering if they were going to go back and see if he took that same bathroom break every week. Have you heard this somewhere?

  4. That's the difference between Pat fans and 31 other fans. You think it's worth it and consider your titles legitimate. You have 31 other teams and fanbases, respected ex players, hall of famers, analysts, writers, calling Bullcrap, all knowing that they aren't legitimate or at least not as legitimate as everyone else's titles.

Didn't you know? We are jealous of all the Superbowls that the Pats have one over the last decade...oh wait...

  5. He would pick where ever he wanted to coach, and the owner who was dumb enough to try to tell him what "lines" he couldn't cross - that team would be crossed off the list. That's my point...every one of these teams and their fans would sell their soul to have the success that comes with Bill, and they wouldn't care less about dumb crap like deflated balls.

Yes, zero titles in ten years. I definitely would sell my soul for that kind of success.

  6. Wilson is a good QB. The best? I don't think so but unfortunately Superbowl wins is how a lot of people judge the greatness of a QB. Complete teams win Superbowls. I hope the Colts are able to but one together soon. I am over the "our quarterback is better than yours" arguments. I wouldn't care if we had a Dilfer type with a great D as long as we got a SB win.

  7. I was wondering how they do rating these days. Back in the day I was chosen to be a Nielson family and has to write down every we watched in a log. As technology involved I guess they sent people a box that they would plug in that logged what they watched. Do they still do that or do the cable/dish companies have the ability to pull the data?

  8. Well...we're on page 23 of this Patriots related topic on a Colts fan forum, so you tell me? I must have missed the 23 page thread on the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cleveland Browns here.

I don't know...do the Jags and Browns cheat all the time? Maybe they do. I compare being mad at the Patriots for winning would be like being mad at the early 90's Buffalo Bills for winning. That's just me though.

  9. They don't care about or expect to receive respect from the fans and ex-players of teams they've been destroying for 15 years, nor should they. Ironically enough, this witch hunt is backfiring on the NFL to such a level that I think it's actually going to end up improving the national perception of the Patriots once the team is fully exonerated of any/all wrong doing here. The hard core haters will always have their tin-foil hat conspiracy theories to fall back on, but as of right now, this story has shifted to one where an incompetent commissioner conducted a witch hunt against one of its premier franchises only to have it blow up in his face.

So tell me again how people are jealous of a team that hasn't won anything in ten years.

  10. Why is there a rule? Because you have to draw the lines somewhere. If they had no rule, then teams could bring a football with 0 psi in it... or put weights on it, or velcro, or that stickum stuff that was so popular in the 70's and 80s.. or cover a ball in glitter and sparkles... or a number of other things.. you have to have some sort of baseline set

Theres no proof that the Pats deflated the balls yet either, I'll wait until the NFL's investigation has concluded and they release the findings.

If you're talking about Jerome Bettis and Mark Brunnel playing with footballs on ESPN, then thats a joke.. thats not scientific, thats 2 blowhards on ESPN giving their opinions.. and Jerome Bettis hates the Pats, always has.. same exact situation as Marshal Faulk.. hes bitter from losing so much to them

So in order to prevent glitter and sparkles, the NFL had to set the psi to a tight tolerance of 1. Gotcha. *thumbs-up
