Two of the PFF analysts gave an A and an A-. We'll see how it all goes.

Hapoy with the pick, but there has to be a reason he fell to the 4th round. I’m guessing there’s some type of health issue?well the stats don't match the athletic numbers, but that said falling to the 4th is an eye opener

I think when you get invested in player review over a 4 month period(or longer) people will get passionate about their player.
I've been critical of Ballard in the past(and probably will be in the future), and while we may have different opinions about the players selected, the positions selected were big needs for this team and I think that's building a lot of consensus on rating this draft.

Could be used to trade up in the 3rd.
agree. realistically the team isn't carrying 11 rookies so using one or twoof these 5ths to move up(or send 2 5ths for a 4th) makes sense

He's been available for quite a while and the Ravens haven't received a single call from any other NFL team. For him to sign - ANYWHERE - he's going to have to reduce his $$ requirements.
We'll see, but in the worst case scenario he gets $32M from the franchise tag

Who wins - the Baltimore Ravens - OR - QB Lamar Jackson in their "stare down" - leading up to the NFL Draft?
Lamar. He's getting a boatload of cash from someone

Packers kinda got hosed. A pick swap, then a non guaranteed future #1. Yuck.
I disagree, especially since that escalator to move up to 1 is pretty easily attainable. To me the only way that trade is worth it to the Jets is a super bowl next year or 2-3 years of afc championship.

No. Nothing against Fields, but he's been "Chicago'd". He was set up to fail from the beginning and beaten to a pulp over the last 2 years. The last time that franchise developed a franchise qb they showed black and white highlight reels of games before the start of a movie and the players wore leather helmets.

Colts still have their 1st round pick in 2023

I don't think I posted in this thread, but for the record I was not high on Josh Allen in the draft. I was obviously wrong. With that said, I think it would have been insane to draft him while we still had Luck.
It for sure would have been a tough sell, especially with Allen sitting on the bench during Luck's 2018 season. Thumbs up for the OP's call though.

SO. We need to win out, and then TN needs to lose the next two games cuz they aren't losing to Houston week 18. They play the 49ers and the Dolphins. There is a fair shot they lose both those games assuming Henry doesn't magically reappear. There is now a light at the end of the tunnel for the division race!
I'm still not optimistic about it, that's a lot of losing for Tennessee...but if they keep turning the ball over like they did today then yeah! 4 turnovers to 0 is just ridiculous

This is so far beyond dumb...it's terrifying in a way. Jimmy Haslam is making Robert Irsay look like a stable, consistent team owner.

Is it me, or do Ballard’s drafts seem to be, well not as great as some made them out to be?
The easy reply, is give them three years, I know.
I’m concerned!
Go Colts!
Burn the heretic!!!!!!!!!

Very doubtful the Bengals are interested in trading the top pick or passing on him. They need a QB. He’s an Ohio kid. Perfect guy to be the face of their franchise.
Exactly. Bengals wouldn't do that deal for 10 1st round picks, he is going to be that valuable to the franchise. This is beyond the field, kid is universally lived in Ohio. Bengals need to put butts in seats, their home attendance was horrible this year.
People think Mike Brown isapathetic to what the team does, but he cares considerably what happens to the team financially
-
That would be a horrifically bad move for the Browns

If Ballard thinks he's the man we better take him in round 1. He may not be around in round 2.
Agreed, especially when it comes to the qb position.

Only according to the “Cain fan club.”He was a 6th Rd pick for more reasons than weed.
He is currently not lighting it up in Pitt!
You are forgetting all of that talk the coaching staff had for him....for 4 days ....in training camp 2018. That is worth at least a 3 round bump up!
Absolutely Refreshing!

I would wholeheartedly agree with this. Especially for the team's slot receivers, the need to be able to complete the catch and take a 7 yard pick up and make it 11 yards and a 1st down has been lacking for a LONG time(maybe all the way back to Anthony Gonzalez). Downs knows how to get open and secure the ball, that's going to be a big help to this offense and maybe the most impactful pick for this season.
