  1. Brett Favre's first 76,432 passes were intercepted (well not counting his completion to himself), Troy Aikman lined up under the guard, and I still haven't figured out what the heck Steve Young was doing lol! Shoulda all been benched!

  2. When Nate Burleson said that Coach Caldwell not swearing at the team speaks to the growth of their team, I burst out laughing & said shut up. That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard in my life. Curse words or the lack of them have nothing to do with maturity, intelligence, or success on a football team. Is there a profanity vs clean SB winning stat now? Please...LOL!

Don't you know football players never ever cuss! And they always behave like adults too!

  3. I'm a Seminole fan and I'm telling you right now - EJ MANUEL IS BETTER THAN JAMEIS WINSTON. * Jimbo Fisher abandoned the run after a single 3 and out every game in 2012. Fast forward to Florida and they were snubbing our plays. He's gotten a little better at sticking with the run now which is the real reason we've been better the last 2 years. Heck, 1 of our backs might even get 500 rushing yards this year!

They certainly bench quarterbacks to fast these days for reasons that others have mentioned. Another reason is the interceptions. Interceptions should be fewer in this era (and they are among the best quarterbacks compared to the previous eras best) but not nonexistent. You still have to take chances. That's why Rodgers sucks so bad in big games.

  4. I read a bunch of this thread but not all of it. It seems like the typical Caldwell conversation.

He rode Peyton Manning and it was even more obvious than usual once we saw just how unprepared the team was in 2011. They were just in disarray and it's not like Peyton went down in the first preseason game with some unknown injury. They should have been better because of the time and the resources they had.

The NFCN has 1 fraud team to make Green Bay look good on their way to 1 and done every year. This year it's Detroit because they're the most stacked team. As soon they hit a bump in the room all those talented guys will turn into divas and Caldwell will just stand there while it crumbles.

I hope I'm wrong though...ya'll know what I think of Aaron Rodger's and how people see Canton in his future in spite of his future 6-10 playoff record...

  5. Since both Harbaugh and Singletery came up, I'll dump this here. Singletery got them to 8-8 and they were a Brett Favre miracle pass from the playoffs. The next year the team quit, and every report said it all started with 1 rat in the lockerroom. Fast forward to Harbaugh. The 2 situations aren't exactly the same but they have similarities. I think they were both good coaches and that the 49ers need to get rid of whatever wuss that can't handle 8-8 and up level coaching in that lockerroom.

  6. Honestly dude, still not getting you here. Who is blocking anything out? What, exactly, are you trying to get across? Does the team's performance without Brady somehow downgrade him in your mind? If so, great. That's your opinion and that's up to you.

The Patriots went 11-5 in 2008 without Brady, yes. Is that your entire point/argument?Just because they didn't fold up like a cheap tent when their Hall of Fame QB went down (like some other teams out there, cough-cough), Brady is somehow just an interchangeable piece of the puzzle?

There were several factors in 2008 (still had a decent D, soft schedule, and Cassel played quite well actually) that made the Patriots 11-5 without Brady.

If your opinion at this stage of his career is that he's a run-of-the-mill QB, I probably can't help you. Because that's blatantly un-objective, hater-fueled nonsense.

I know you're still not getting me here.

  7. The Bears have 2 pretty big things going on that I'm not trying to ignore: they suck and they don't want to play. This game and the ones like it recently are the result of the new rules though. When you are this overmatched there is nothing you can legally do to stop the offense. When you are this undermatched, how do you not take the free touchdowns? Rodgers is alot of things I don't like but statpadder he is not.

  8. I always believed the Pack's real rivalry was with those Vikings teams from the 90's. They played the Pack very tough in those years.

Those games were better than the Bears games, but the real rivalry was the Lions. The Packers and Lions met in the playoffs Favre's first 2 years, 1 of which was 1 of those week 17/Wildcard rematch scenarios. And in 1997 Favre and Sanders were coMVPs.

  9. In that case he's 0-9. He went down in that game too. I think he's 1-9 though (won 1 in 2010 when Rodgers was out lol).

This is the most overrated rivalry since Vince Lombardi. Even in 2010 the NFCCG only happened because of the 7-9 Seahawks, the Bizarro Failmary (how is this so forgotten) and the Calvin Johnson "catch."

  10. Either the 49ers are a good team whose only problem is showing up for easy games or the Saints stink and they can't even beat the 49ers. It can't be both no matter how bad so many of you may want it to be.

  11. At the moment as in the moment?

At this moment only 1 guy has threw 6 TDs twice in a row. Brees has only had 1 typical game this year but it just happened. Also at the moment Romo and Foles are hurt. They can't count.

If you look at the year so far it's all came down to Manning and Brady while Big Ben was average and Foles and Romo were good and at times great. That's all I was getting at.

  12. We've done this thread more times than we've done Manning/Brady for heck's sake.

Speaking of Sanchez, I think it's not farfetched to thing that he could have a good game this week. The overreactions there will be pretty funny, and they will be gut bursting funny if he's the guy who has this year's fraudulent 6 TD game (that happens every year whether you realize it or not!).

  13. Ironically, this is the first Brady/Rodgers matchup after years of irrelevant Pats/Packer games since 2002. Favre went down in the 1st quarter in 2006 and Rodgers in 2010. Favre/Brady is thin too. Brady missed 2008 and 2010 counts but...yeah...2010 lol!

Meanwhile 1 of the only big games Rodgers has ever won was his 1 game against Manning...a forgotten matchup from 2008.

  14. I'm glad that the best quarterbacks actually have some big games this year. Aside from the token Brady/Manning, Manning/Luck games that we get some of the time, it seems like Brady, Manning and Rodgers get nothing but easy games. I know it's not true but it seems like the only tough games Aaron Rodgers has ever played have been against whatever NFCW team he ended up against in the playoffs. Manning's schedule is a little easier from here on out but it was loaded to start with.

  15. Alright now I'm just confused. No one was being defensive... being defensive is when you react to something that is probably true. You said Brady had a "sophomore slump" in 2002, which is just not correct. I have no idea what you're talking about with 2008.

This is the "Around the NFL" section. If you post something about Brady, Pats fans will show up. If you post something about Brees, Bogie will show up. If you post something about the Texans, Qwizboy and Houston fans will show up. Especially if what you post is flat-out wrong. So you can accuse us of being defensive (can't tell you how ironic that is coming from a fan base that is, collectively, very insecure about how your players are viewed) but whatevs, my man!

Have you guys really blocked out that the Patriots went 11-5 in 2008 without Brady? I know ya'll block out the 4 game losing streak in 2002, and other small potatoes but 2008??? Really???

  16. Oh please-please do bless us with the wisdom of your "top 5 list" then.

Not at all true in this case. You're just incorrect.

2002 was a down year for the team overall (only season besides 2008, when Brady tore his ACL, that they didn't win the division in the Brady-Belichick era). Brady was given more responsibility in 2002 and actually responded pretty well and validated Belichick's decision to keep him and trade Bledsoe to the Bills.

It's as true as that other thing Brady homers have going on. They're so defensive about the guy over nothing. Then the nerve to bring up 2008???
