  1. The NFL will sweep this under the rug as quickly as possible. The SB is in two weeks and if this were to become a story it could cost the NFL and the reputation of the game dearly. They will come out today and quill the story.

I think based on the handling of the Rice tape/situation we know Goodell's motives for trying to keep the NFL out of a bad light. He lied about receiving the Rice tape. He definitely saw the spygate tapes and found them to be so grevious he had to destroy them, considering he was just elected commissioner and his first year could not have a scandal relating to cheating implicated against the winners of 3 of the last 4 superbowls. Same situation here, can't make a huge deal about it here despite the game not being close anyway.

I disagree about costing the NFL and reputation of the game dearly. NFL had literally the worst week in years earlier this season and no one even talks about it anymore (not even the crying people on the commercials who can't get their words out). This would just be another thing that Goodell fumbles and lets teams get away with.

  2. The pats if found guilty will be subject to at $25,000 fine. No draft picks.

A team can be fined if it is found to be knowingly altering the weight of the football.

The NFL's game operations manual states: "Once the balls have left the locker room, no one, including players, equipment managers, ball boys, and coaches, is allowed to alter the footballs in any way. If any individual alters the footballs, or if a non-approved ball is used in the game, the person responsible and, if appropriate, the head coach or other club personnel will be subject to discipline, including but not limited to, a fine of $25,000."

slap on the wrist for a superbowl shot, sounds worth it to me. let's do that next year

  3. Needless to say the Boston media is having a field day with the use of "balls" today. lol. Lowest common denominator, right?

I mean that's the Boston way, no one cares that Manny or Papi cheated to break a curse, nobody cares the Pats cheated so bad that the commissioner of the NFL saw the tapes and found them to be so grevious he had no choice but to destroy them rather than face the consequences that the league he just took over has a team that won 3 out of 4 because they cheated, nobody cares about Gronk trying to injure players "LOL yo soy fiesta had to take him out the club" or KG the fakest tough guy in NBA history. boston is the walter white of sports they just get away with everything

  4. I didn't say they were in a better position overall, They are looking pretty ragged, which is kind of my point; they are in a better position to reload through high draft picks. Had we worked our way up and say went 7-9/8-8 Lucks rookie year than 8-8/9-7 his 2nd year we likely would have had a stronger team now. They have the QBs(the hardest piece of the puzzle) they can spend the high draft picks to fill in around them cheaply.

Doesn't help when our last two first round picks are inactive for the championship game...

I'm told at one point the officials took a ball out of play and weighed it. Should hear more tomorrow on this subject.

Told if a league investigation confirms deflated footballs it will result in lost draft picks. Stay tuned.

Assuming this was when they "they left the kicking ball on the field and were waiting for a dry game ball" like they didnt have 4 ready and didn't do it over the commercial break after the kickoff...

  6. we make average runningbacks look like superstars, i would worry about defense first so luck doesnt have to go out there cold (seriously i think between his last snap of the half aside from the kneel down and first snap of the third quarter was probably 45 minutes). we go down 14-0 and luck feels like he has to get it back in one shot. i thought we withstood the haymaker by responding with the long drive after the pick but the D let us down, again.

  7. Chuck's job is secure.  No way Irsay would fire him after making it to the AFCCG.  One thing that I've noticed is that it seems like a lot of the other successful teams have coaches and coordinators that have hc experience, but we don't.  Maybe a grass is greener deal, but I get the impression that our coordinator's aren't guys that other teams would want.

True look at Ravens w Kubiak and Denver w Del Rio, I like Chuck and there isn't anyone else available right now that I would like unless you convinced BB himself to come over.

  8. If the Colts have to play the Patriots again next year, they should just forfeit. I mean why even bother? Are they looking for their 5th straight beat down?

i'd take that, just take the L and save ourselves from the embarrassment and injuries

  9. IMO we regressed. Last year we were knocking off Seattle, Denver, San Fran. Lost Reggie and Ahmad, couldn't adjust and got killed by STL, CIN, and ARI. Followed by a great comeback in the playoffs vs an average QB and a backup RB, to get killed by the Pats. This year we beat everyone we were supposed to beat, we had great stats because we play the Jags and Titans twice a year, but we lost to good teams like Denver, Philly (we did get screwed), NE, PITT, and Dallas. We got this far because we played teams that were injured and again didn't show up against NE. Now Luck is gonna get a bajillion dollar deal and we will be back in the Manning years at least until Brady retires when Luck is 30.

  10. the only thing worse than our first game from scrimmage to open the game this year from last year's playoff game would be a pick six, so hoping that doesnt happen. either way, the key is to not give up an 8 minute drive that grinds us down and then luck comes out thinking he cant go back to the bench with no points or a 3 and out so he makes passes he shouldnt make, need to withstand haymakers early
