  1. I thought that may have been a penalty. They seemed to drive Herbert to the ground.
  2. Allen and Ekeler are underrated. Allen is great.
  3. A lot of injuries are non-contact. More rules will not help.
  4. Jet and Chargers game is on. Chargers are already up 7-0. I missed the start.
  5. He is a rocket scientist. It is true. According to reports, Dobbs was an Academic All-American and had a 4.0 GPA in Engineering. I remember reading about him a few years ago. You know I like intelligent players (I'm a Stanford football fan ). According to KOC, he was picking up plays so quickly. Early on in the game, he looked lost, understandably. But he got better as the game went on. I don't know if you have a subscription to the Athletic. Great article. https://theathletic.com/5035267/2023/11/06/josh-dobbs-vikings-falcons?source=user-shared-article
  6. I don't recall that. It may have been, as that was Jet's last year with us. Keenum was the QB in the game I attended. It was in December of 2017. It was a close game, low-scoring game, IIRC. GA Skol and his wife were in the section next to mine. He was in Row 2 and I was in Row 5. I actually walked right past him, as a woman seated next to him, called me over to take pictures. She works with my sister. I did not say anything to him. Just_Rob told me to look out for him and told me what he was wearing. Lol. Vikes won. I met DN writer Thompson at Met Life Stadium a few years ago when the Vikings were playing in NY. My friend the season ticket holder invited me to the game. Vikes won. The only game I have been to that the Vikes lost was in DC, against Cousins of all people. Bradford threw an interception to seal the game for Washington.
  7. As you know, it isn't just Jets and Giants. It seems that nearly a third of the league's QBs have missed starts. Something like 9 rookie QBs have started games this year. Off the top of my head: Cousins, out for remainder of season Rodgers, out for season Richardson, out remainder of the season Watson (some games) Pickett (1 or 2 games) Garoppolo (at least 1 game, then benched) Jones, out remainder of season Fields (on IR, may return) Stafford (some time) Tannehill missed games. There may be more. The Vikings are down to their 4th string QB. Cousins never missed time but he sustained a non-contact injury and is out for the rest of the season. Our backup Nick Mullens was already on IR with back problems. Our rookie QB left the game with a concussion yesterday. We still won the game with a QB who joined the team mid-week last week.
  8. I remember reading a mock draft on a Giants site and someone wanted Tank Dell. I had never heard of him but the other fans did not approve of his selection. He sure has a good connection with Stroud. Stroud looks very comfortable in that offense.
  9. Well written and balanced. Love it.
  10. I thought he had a good game, based on my standards. I don't look at stats. I watch the way the person plays. He looked good. AR looked good. The only one of the top 4 who has not looked good to me is Young. And he was my favorite pre-draft. I think AR will be special, barring injury. He is very young, is humble and open to learning, and his athleticism is off the charts.
  11. Does it matter that no guard is making what Nelson makes (if that is true)? Serious question. Do the Colts have salary cap constraints? If you chose to pay extra for something you value (the way the Colts value Nelson), would it matter that someone else may not want to pay as much for it? It would matter only if the Colts were having salary cap constraints -- having little or no money under the salary cap to sign free agents. Seriously, what free agent would you have liked the Colts to pick up that was not signed because there was not enough money under the salary cap? Note: This is a post-game thread. Read the room and notice that folks want to enjoy the win. You write about the same issue all the time. Why post the very same comments in a post-game thread where folks want to enjoy the win? Create a different thread and talk with the others who are critical of the moves the team makes. Anyway, congrats on the win, everyone. Enjoy it..
  12. He was. I was never a fan of Irv. I hope he works out for the Bengals but he did not do much for the Vikes. I think he was a 2nd round pick.
  13. Comments merged. Lol. Has Hamlin played this year?
  14. Enjoy! All the best! I read that Damar is not playing. Has he played this year?
  15. My brother tells me, "You know who is winning that game? Joe Burrow, of course." This is the same matchup where Damar Hamlin got hurt, right? I only realized it as I was writing.
  16. He has not even played a season. They are not a finished product when they get drafted. That is the case in almost any job. Give him time. Same with all the young QBs.
  17. Good! Btw, did you watch the other game until the end. I stepped away and my friend, a Giants fan, sent me a text message telling me the team had won.
  18. @RollerColt I waited for halftime of the Colts game to post this. Daniel Jones sustained a non-contact injury. Rookie free agent QB Tommy DeVito is in at QB.
  19. Are you enjoying it in Carolina? Met any other forum members? Seems like a fast moving game.
  20. Vikings win with the fourth string QB. I'm going to have to watch the replay.
  21. With 3 days of practice, Dobbs is not doing too poorly. We have a chance to win. Atlanta 14- Vikings 13
