First, I learned something today: I didn't know a team could not start with the ball in both halves based on their coin-toss verbiage. Why does the NFL even allow this as an option? Strategically, is there a scenario a team would decide they're better off not starting with the ball in both halves? Perhaps if the team thinks their offense is so horrendous they want to limit their time of possession to avoid turnovers, or they don't have enough offense players in uniform? Screw it. Get rid of the rule.

Second, the referees continue to prove their incompetence. By default, it should be assumed the team wants to start with the ball in the second half! Are we sure these are professional NFL referees? When does common sense prevail?

  2. We're kind of at an impasse until we see that film (which I hope gets made public eventually). No doubt Goodell has knowledgeable personnel who work as scouts who can determine if the video actually makes sense in the context of what the Patriots video crew said it was intended for.

Hey gang, remember when the Patriots and their fans declared the Colts cursed because Tom and Dorito doink and the Deflator deflated game balls and their fans declared the Colts cursed for pointing it out?

The Patriots cheat. Big old' fat unappreciative *. They cheat. Case closed. Bill, Cheater. Tom, Cheater (on more than one level!). Cheaters. Debate over. Case closed.

Patiently waiting for their curse. 100 years, Red Sox style. But first, this season needs to derail.

I wonder if the Pats fans will hate the Bengals now for the Bengals calling out the Pats. Then when the Pats defense beats the Bengals 40-7'ish, the Pats fans will be like, "The Bengals are just salty because they lost so horrendously!"

  4. "A cameraman who identified himself as a Robert Kraft employee was asked if he could 'just delete the footage' when a Bengals employee caught him."

    https://sports.yahoo.com/patriots-cameraman-reportedly-asked-to-just-delete-the-footage-bill-belichick-denies-any-involvement-235522269.html

This confirms the Patriots cameraman did not ask for permission to be on the sidelines. This reminds me of what my photography professor said once back in college: "It's better to get caught with something than to ask permission and get nothing at all."

  5. I remember a few New England fans on message boards were criticizing us for booing Andrew Luck when he walked to the locker-room after his retirement (as if our entire fanbase booed him). Now, when we say New England fans booed Brady, the fans deflect it by saying they were booing the officials.

I call bullocks. There were definitely at least a few New England fans booing Brady, just like yes there may have been a few Colts fans booing Luck. That's what alcohol and adrenaline will do to emotions. Both teams are guilty to some extent.

Mediocrity is far worse than being terrible.

I'll disagree there. Look at the Cleveland Browns. When a team has a losing culture, it's harder to attract players and put fans in the seats. At least when a team is entering the season as mediocre, there's a glimmer of playoff hope. Yes, the worst team gets the 1st overall pick, but if the team they're surrounding him with is awful, it won't matter.

He is still blaming the NFL for his actions as he proved with his comments after his exhibition.

My favorite part is he wore a Kunta Kinte shirt to the practice. The guy is a grade-A troll. It'd be like if I showed up to a job interview with a Donald Trump shirt. They're both people; no problem, right? Hmm...

Another issue that Glow is having to deal with is teams are not lining someone over Nelson very often, so they shift towards the offensive right side so Kelly is not able to help with Glow as much as he did last year.

    • So basically, teams have identified Glow is our weakest link and are exploiting him.

I don't even know why we ask questions like this.  We've seen the Pats play whomever and win in any year.  We all know they are competent enough to get the job done. They've proven it over and over again.

I don't care. I want to see the Pats work for it. It's pathetic they get these free tickets to the playoffs over and over on account of their division's weak strength.

MJ-D was a beastly RB, I would have loved him to be a Colt.

Yea, our division around that time was beastly in the RB department. In addition to MJ-D (2006), the Jags had Fred Taylor, so the Jags had a two-headed monster. The Titans once had Chris Johnson (2008). Then the Texans Arian Foster (2009) still gives me nightmares. Yea, their stats were padded a bit by a shoddy Colts run defense, but I also saw them running on other teams, so I think it was a combination of the two.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but the announcers kept pointing it out, and I think it's worth mentioning.  Not only was Brissett on fire the first half, ball placement was perfect, allowing his receivers to make plays after the catch.  It was really a thing of beauty watching him carve up that defense.

Yea, I think during the game he broke some kind of drought on most Colts QB completions in succession for the first half. He was very consistent and looked comfortable. In all of Brissett's interviews, he credited all this with his receivers getting open, but no, Brissett's passes looked beautiful. Brissett deserves a ton of credit.
