Some would mark today's waivers as a bit of a "tribute" to the mistakes Chris Ballard has made over the years:
DE Terrell Basham (2017 3rd round) waived by Buffalo
DB Nate Hairston (2017 5th round) waived by Arizona
DE Kemoko Turay (2018 2nd round) waived by Atlanta
WR Daurice Fountain (2018 5th round) waived by Chicago
RB Jordan Wilkins (2018 5th round) waived by Detroit (I think)
WR Deon Cain (2018 6th round) waived by Philadelphia
DE Ben Banogu (2019 2nd round) waived by Dallas
T Julien Davenport (2021 free agent) waived by NY Giants
T Dennis Kelly (2022 free agent) waived by Philadelphia
And that's just today's news.
that is a lot of ballard busts!!!!

ballard lives and dies by the draft , after six seasons he drafted only one elite talent, taylor!! he is trying to keep him at dollar general pay. i hope he drafts more than one elite talent in the next 6 years and pays them.

Grover Stewart is a good player, he also will be a free agent next year, why not give him some extra cash this year as well?
grover is average not elite like taylor

From what we know Ballard hasn’t done anything wrong.
he hasnt done anything right or we would not be having this trouble with our only elite talent
-
ballard has had 6 years to build this roster , we will have some good plays in a 54 to 10 loss

I do feel that if this relationship is going to be salvaged Ballard will be able to do that. Maybe Shane too.

ballard let this situtation get out of hand , he should fix it asap, that is what he is getting paid for.

So our entire Goal for the season is to just strip any, and all support for our rookie inexperienced QB away from the team?
Wt actual H.
we may be in a deal for a real receiver for jt

Cain just won a championship game mvp and looked very good in preseason this year. I wouldnt be shocked if tomorrow he finds his way back home.
oh no!!!

ballard has made such a mess of this that it is unlikely that any elite player would sign with the colts while ballard is in charge

ballard has totally messed up this taylor thing, he cant keep his only game changer
-
pay taylor he is our only game changer, ballard is paying non playmakers the big money what is ballard thinking?
-
taylor is a game changer!! it is simple to have a winning team, pay top pay to the game changers, and average pay or below to just average or below average players. gamechangers dont come along that often so ballard in order for the team to win pay the correct players, or you will always keep the colts just being average or below.

why turf ? what is wrong on just playing on bare soil?

All the WRs are terrible. Downs will probably be ok eventually, but Pierce and Pittman need to go.
Pierce especially, dude is a bust
i agree, he cant get separation

Watching a few talking heads this afternoon….
There are a few teams that a player like JT MIGHT put that team into the Super Bowl
Miami, Dallas, Buffalo, Chargers, Baltimore
These fan bases have waited a long time to reach the big game
JT is at or near his peak…Today
The Colts are NOT near their peak, we probably will not be there next year either…..
The “math” averages say that a RB loses that edge year 5-6.
JT may be sooner as he had a ton of carry’s in college
I am coming around to the fact that the Colts may be OK 2-3 years from now if we use the pick or picks wisely from a JT trade
ballard has a bad history with draft picks, his win loss record says it all

I think faking an injury is a blemish on one’s character. Or exaggerating it.taylor needs to be gone asap, he is not a team player, get him gone before he destroys the team chemistry

If true this is the type of offer that could equate to a 1st. Which is what we are asking for. I would be very happy with a package like this.
i would love a first from the bears

Seems we had this sort of topic last season. The same question remains. Who do the Colts have that will garner decent payback?
the only game changer ballard has on the roster is taylor. he is the only one with trade value

He is the owner and he can do what he want. I am not in love with Ballard, but it just under cuts Ballard's influence on making tough decisions. It looks to the NFL and media that Irsay is in charge and not Ballard. Irsay needs to let Ballard sink or swim this season. I doubt Ballard is loving this situation
ballard likes the money, with his win loss record he cant expect elite players to want to work for him. rbs have a short career and taylor knows there is no chance for a superbowl with the colts as long as ballard is here,
