We are deficient at some of the most important positions in this league - QB(this is the most obvious one - hopefully AR changes that), WR(I know people are excited after this game, but we should look at the big picture and overall our WR group has been below average for a while now and we need more than one good game from them to pronounce that problem solved), secondary and especially CB(now, we have some young/injured players there so we will see how that group develops but as it stands right now IMO that group is below average for the league too)...
We have some good talent and we have some promise from a few of the young guys, but IMO right now our offense is highly schemed(read coach and playcall dependent), I read some stat that the Colts are the team that runs most RPOs in the league and by a huge margin - we are at 24% and the second highest is 19%. On the other end our defense has not really been tested as much as most teams get tested. We have faced relatively soft QB schedule and the good QBs have dissected this D(Lawrence, Carr, Stafford). IMO right now this team looks like a team that's overperforming its talent and is winning games based on edges that the coaching staff is finding and exploiting.
I think the talent level in the nfl is pretty close with most of the teams. It’s pretty much a any given Sunday league! -

Wasn't his deep ball accuracy in college better then his midrange? Matter of fact I think his deep ball accuracy was better then Stroud, Young and Levis.
Throwing deep in college compared to the nfl are like night and day!

I wish we did have a randy moss or tyreek hill like talent paired with Richardson arm. That be unstoppable
he has a strong arm, but we haven’t seen if he has deep accuracy or the ability to read the defenses. Hopefully he has a full year next year and developers all that. -

Levis is a very accurate deep ball passer. Intentionally uncatchable is the way it looked to me. For me you can tell by Hopkins reaction and body language that he knows he screwed up. Even the great ones make mistakes. Lucky for us I think.
jw isn’t going to listen to reason, he is a Levis hater and will make up things to back it up. Everyone can see from the video what really happened.-

I don’t get why some Colts fans hate Levis so much. All he did was not get drafted by the Colts but do whatever makes you happy.
it’s because making another rookie qb look bad makes the Richardson pick look better and some said Levis looked better than Richardson. You know how these forums are. If you are so confident Richardson is that good, why worry about other rookie qb’s.-

Isn’t Downs hurt? As far as Pierce, I thought the criticism was unwarranted. He hasn’t had great QBs throwing to him. Great game today though and I thought I heard an announcer say Pierce was a big key in Granson’s long catch.
I just saw the highlights, but there was a colts receiver running deep in the middle with 3 defenders. Probably him. -

Every NFL QB can throw the ball deep. But throwing deep with accuracy is the hard part.
Minshew surprised me with those throws today. At the very least it will make teams think twice about stuffing the box now.
when you don’t have that rocket arm with the flick of the wrist I makes a big difference. A lot of times you have to throw the ball before the receiver breaks open to get it there and this takes a lot of skill. Not many qb’s have that shoulder up part and why there are so many bust high draft choices.he needs to take a couple shots deep every game to keep the defense honest. If it’s 3rd and long loft one up deep, if it’s intercepted and the receiver makes the tackle it’s like a punt not much harm. It’s better than throwing the 6 yard completion when you need 10 yards that constantly happens with the colts.

Here. Let’s see the throw again. It’s worse even than I remember it.
I’ve been saying it was 7 feet from Hopkins. It wasn’t. It was 7 whole * yards. YARDS. Way out in front and it was clear on the other side of the white boundary line going up the sideline.
He flat loaded up and missed. He missed on distance and placement.
thank you for posting the throw it saves me from posting it. The colt defender was running step for step with him, so he wasn’t open like you said, and he made the right secession to throw the pass away.-

Nobody here knows what was said and why do colts fans make a big deal about it? Just want to make Levis look bad. 😆

Peyton never came to the sideline and berated a WR over a ball he threw too far out of bounds to be even remotely catchable but ok.
you don’t know what was said, it could be he ran the wrong rout. -

I don’t think this is anything bad. Seems some here forget the squabbles manning had.
I was thinking the same thing! A lot of people here will look for a reason to knock Levis. If Richardson did that, they would say he is being the leader of the team.-

This should have been a comfortable win. Not sure why the colts haven’t thrown more deep balls this year. This game showed that the qb can do it. Is it the coaches decision? I don’t like coaches going for 2 early in games. I don’t think it was smart, and posted it when the colts scored, so no Monday morning quarterbacking. You go up 6 with a lot of momentum and the defense has been shutting them down. Why aren’t the colts running in short yardage situations with a very good line and a back that was the top nfl rusher until he got benched. Wouldn’t that be better than a shaky qb trying to throw? You never know what you will get.

Assuming they extend Pittman, I am not convinced Ballard will think WR is a draft need.
I said earlier the colts don’t need a wr in the first couple rounds, unless they are trading down for more picks. -

The naysayers bashed Fries then moved on to Pierce.
Who you gonna bash now?
it’s like sports gambling, going against the big majority of the public is the way to go. -
Wow! Crazy game. Colts did everything they could to lose, but I will take it!

This defense. Not kicking the extra point is going to cost them. Should not be a six point game.
id should be a 9 point hame just like I posted at the time of the extra point! -

How in the hell do we only have a 6 point lead?
really bad coaching!! -
You have a shaky qb and a top rb and need 1 yard. He keeps choosing the shaky qb.

yes! I think some people will complain about something until the colts play like the Super Bowl bears defense played.
