Well, he should be fired but just not now.. you have to wait till the offseason so you can see all the coaches that will be let go or willing to move to a head coaching job.... now? its just slim pickings
Neither I think he will be fired now. If it would happen, would be in the off-season.
-
I think JC will be back for two reasons:
1. He's still under contract and we can't afford to pay multiple head coaches, and
2. He'll be given a chance with a QB to prove whether this year was a fluke or not
Yes, and "well informed experts" aren't writing anything about changes in HC position at Colts.
I'm afraid he will be back next year.
-
Why would you fire your coach now? that makes no sense what so ever.. and those organizations that have done that just shows how lacking they are, you wait to see whats out there, you dont just fire your coach in mid season when teams are still playing.. wait till the off season where you know teams will evaluate their coaches and make releases then you go and pick up your head coach.. whats the point of firing him now?... just to make him feel bad about himself and how he handled things? cause thats the only possible effect you will have.
1. Will he feel better himself after a 0-16 season?
2. Which team would hire a 0-16 Coach?
Anyway You are right. He should have been fired after New Orleans disaster, but know...? It would make no difference firing him right now or 3 games later.

Send YOur CV.
They will find a position fitting You for sure.
ST coordinator perhaps as a start?

Well,
the team with Orlowsky has shown promising signs. Perhaps 1 or 2 wins are ahead out of 4 remaining game. Manning won't return this season.
#1 pick isn't in danger, so get prepared for one of Manning-Luck, Manning-Orlowsky, Luck-Orlowsky or even Manning-Luck-Orlowsky triangle combinations.
Orlowsky's production in last 4 games may stir things up well IMO.
-
If you go the nfl.com I believe that they allow international fans to watch the games online. Unfortunately you can't if you are in the US.
Thanks, I'll check it.

I agree!
We shouldn't trade Peyton.
There will be a lot debate about this issue here, mostly based on emotions.
-
I haven't seen Colts this season neither. In better seasons I saw them even 3-4 times a year, but now... Hungarian Sport TV Chanel buys copyright from ESPN to broadcast 2 or 3 games each weekend, but since Colts aren't in prime time, they won't be on air over here.
-
Well...
IMO our last game has shown positive signs, but thats all. We've lost, and we are at 0-11.
Caldwell has proven last year what he can do with Peyton Manning (yes I know, in 2009 he reached SB), so there would be nothing to waiting for.
A team, like colts simply can't allow after 9 winning season such a horror unanswered.
I think since New Orleans tragedy Caldwell himself knows he is losing his job.
-
I hope the fans everywhere stay with the team..
there is a significant chance the Colts will be back in the playoffs in 2012....
..and this year will just be your basic humbling experience...
Colts forever!

Most of my friends are Patriots fans over here, which made last night almost unbareable!
The same stuff in Hungary. The most of Hungarians are Pats' fan, for Brady and their kicker with Hungarian origin (Zoltan Mesko)
-
Hey guys, I'm from WV and was wondering how many of you guys (or girls) are Colts fans, but don't live in Indiana? I've always wanted to move to or somewhere near Indy, but the timing was just never right.
I'm an out of country fan from Hungary. I've hard times this year, bad Colts isn't broad casted, so the guys should shape up, and editors would pick Indy's games here.

If I'm not mistaken, he looked better than Painter in pre-season. i still don't know how Painter won the backup job.
I don't understand it neither.
He may be the answer for backup problems.
-
Me too.
Today was quit ok. I hope he will keep his good performance.
We'll see next games... 2 or 3 more games, and it will turn out who is better, Orlovsky or Painter.
-
You missed a few:
1.) After we go 0-16, when will Indy fire Caldwell?
2.) Who will Caldwell be replaced by?
3.) Which team will Caldwell go to? (hint: Wake Forest sounds nice this time of year!)
4.) Will Caldwell buy Polian a crystal ball as a farewell gift? (Aww, how sweet...)
I think Irsay has decided to fire Caldwell, but it will happen in the off season in a decent way. There will be a short announcement, that Colts and Caldwell split.
My real problem is, that I don't know who could be next HC.
Adai and Brown should be kept maybe Mathis too,
The most hardest decision will be how to sign new players.
-
There were several issues on both sides (keeping Manning, drafting Luck and trading Manning drafting Luck).
I would rather join those, who say we should keep Manning and draft Luck to be tutored by Manning.
A rookie QB would be equal to suicide, as no rookies are ready to play in NFL, they need to get used to the atmosphere, speed of game etc.
If we drafted Luck, he could be educated in hands of Manning, what could help him to improve his abilities further.
-
Based on the article cited:
1) Payton won't be ready to play this season
2.) Surgery was successful and hi is improving fast, so there's a good chance for Colts to have No.18 back next season.
He is practicing yet, but sending him on the field in December 22nd would be too high risk, which FO and Mr. Irsay just wont take.
-
One of two winnable games left.
Shall we risk Peyton's health (and next season) for a win?
I wouldn't dare to risk it.
There's no risk without jeopardy???
-
We will be beaten.
I don't dare to predict points. D will allow at least 35 points. O has chance to score if we get close enough to score FGs. Perhaps we should try to rush the ball.
-
If I'd be Belichek, I would ask him if he wants to play.
Or should I say I hope Brady will play. A clear loss against Pats led by a second string QB would be really embarrassing
-
Polian has to rebuild this team, as the story is about his job right now. (I believe Caldwell's job will be over latest in the off season).
If he could rebuild the team, depends on his decisions, how successful the next draft will be, who would be picked as HC and so on...
I agree with Sarah Fernandez Belbot at every point but trading Manning (because I think a rookie QB, be it Luck or anybody else wouldn't be able to play even at an average level in the NFL in his first year).
The team needs fresh blood, but we need to keep our experienced (not veteran) players.
We also have to find quality second strings (just think of present QB-crisis).
-
Head Coach - Marty Schottenheimer
Assistant Head Coach - Jim Tressel
Offensive Coordinator - Norv Turner
Defensive Coordinator - Steve Spagnolo
Any suggestion for ST Coordinator?
-
I newer thought that Painter would be able to substitute Manning (or just leading Colts offensive drives effectively), and Collins' signing suggests that coaching staff was aware of that (however I didn't understand why we are signing a retired QB).
I don't know if Orlovsky would be better, but let's see, perhaps he has the chance and shows up sg.!
-
Both the Washington Capitals (I know its hockey not football) and the Jaguars fired their head coaches as a result of their records and team performance. So it is not unheard of to fire your coaching staff mid season.... Why is Jim still here?
It is strange to me.
After New Orleans fiasco I thought Caldwell would be fired, but nothing happened
I think (hope) Irsay waits, and changes will happen in the off-season.
Lets Trade For Eli Manning!

Oh, com on...
Why don't You want Archie Manning for HC??
It's a wild thought indeed.
