I agree with You, but this time when things are stirred up, everything is uncertain. Thing depends on person of new GM, IMO Irsay and new GM will fire or hire Caldwell for next season. New GM's philosophy and person of new HC (possible the coaching staff) will also affect our strategy at the draft.
I'd like to see Manning and Luck at the Colts, but now is the time to think this over.
-
I don't think it was a sudden decision IMO, Irsay was preparing to take necessary measures, he just waited until the end of regular season. I think he has names to call, and we will have a new GM soon.
Based on Mr. Irsay's statement, Caldwell's future hasn't been decided yet, and this statement also told me that the final decision will be made with the new GM.
-
I'm not surprised.
Sure he does. He also tweeted this. "Your voice have been heard and noticed"
He took our opinion into consideration, but there were other aspects too when making this decision on firing.
Thank You for hearing us!
-
He said on the radio tonight he was going to start making phone calls for the new GM. With that said he also said if he wants a guy on a team in the playoffs and he has to wait to talk to that person he will. He made a big point about it's more important to get the right guy than to rush on this. It might cost us Fisher but after listening to him tonight It sounds like he's leaning towards youngers less experienced people and who knows they might very well keep Caldwell this season not unlike what the Browns did a couple of years ago.
Honestly, I'm not against Jeff Fisher, but would like to see a younger talented and proven guy as HC. I don't know who is available for us this off season. I think new waves are in NFL, so we have to develop our play schemes and managing methods too. I don't know keeping Caldwell would be a good start, but this is up to Mr. Irsay and new GM.
-
Well...
I think it's too early to talk about our next HC.
1.) Jim Caldwell still hasn't been fired.
2.) I think Mr. Irsay will wait with this decision till he finds new GM.
He doesn't have much time to waste. Until beginning of draft he needs new men and a blueprint how to rebuild the team.
-
Thank You Mr. Irsay!
I hope this is the start of a rebuilding process, and we are heading to another decade of success!
-
I think he has less time than that... he will be fired @ 5:00 EST if he doesn't resign by then.
I think he will be given this excellence for SB appearance in 2009.
-
What if...
I think Jim Caldwell isn't dumb and is aware of failing to do his job this season. If I were him I would announce my resignation myself not waiting for being fired.
So what if he announces his resignation tomorrow?

It's 14:00 here
Thx!

Wath time is it at You guys? 13:00???
Its 20:00 CET here in Hungary.

What in blazes does a terrible coach have to do with your QB? Get a non-inept coach regardless whether we have Manning, Luck, Orlovsky, Painter *shiver*, WHOEVER under center.
Come on, Irsay. Right the ship. -_- Not showing the Polians the door is bad enough but if you are seriously considering keeping Caldwell I fear for the long term future of this franchise.
Ask Mr. La Canfora and Mr. Lombardi.
They think Colts can win with Caldwell and Manning but cannot with Caldwell and Luck.
-
According to Jason La Canfora and Michael Lombardi, Colts will delay the decision, depending on Peyton's status.
Read here:
http://blogs.nfl.com/2012/01/02/mannings-status-gives-colts-pause/
I still hope they won't delay the decision. We should start to prepare for next season with clear heads and a good plan.
-
Bucs did it too.
I haven't ever seen so many users reading a topic same time.
-
Recent news were about his full recovery. I expect him back 90%, and I hope we will welcome our #18 in 100% form.
Nfl.com in November gave more than 50% for Peyton'resignation.
-
According to nfl.com St. Louis Rams have fired the HC and GM:
They have started it.
-
There was chance that nothing would happen, but now smell of change is to be smelled. Wonder what sort of change...landslide...or only JC and Bill Polian will be sacked.
-
Wow! Now there are rumblings that the Polians will be fired today along with Caldwell...
http://indiana.sbnat...ll-polian-fired
Still nothing official yet.
Possible landslide at FO???

Maybe Irsay took the 3 men in the room (both Polians and Caldwell) and looked at Caldwell and said, did Polian give you the tools to succeed or did he micromanage you in every aspect? When Caldwell answers with, "he gave me all the doughnuts I wanted, is that what you mean Jim? No, I meant did he tell you who to play and how to play them? Oh that, well yeah but he told me from the get go this is how it will go, he is the vice prez, HC and darn near the owner but.... Ok Jim, Bill, Chris, get your stuff and submit your keys to the secretary at the front office tomorrow. Oh and take your puppet with you, I left a weeks supply of white powdered doughnuts at the desk when your keys are returned. Caldwell runs full sprint with keys in hand to the front office and is never seen again.
Normally these three men should have been taken in that room at half of the season. At least for making an emergency talk.
-
RGIII was recommended by an article as an alternative for Luck, but as far as I know Polians never showed interest in him...
-
Irsay's last tweet:
"I want 2 thank all ColtsFans..here,throughout the country n abroad,4ur tremendous, loyal support all year long. Ur feedback is heard n noted"
I wonder which of ours feedback had been heard. :-)
-
I don't read out anything from this.
Until it isn't tweeted or announced via mediums JC is our coach. I mean Jim Caldwell and not Jesus Christ...
-
Mr. Peyton Manning now.
It isn't Andy Luck's time yet.
-
He wasn't yesterday, but he practiced today!!
Will practice tomorrow, and will be ready to go for Sunday.
Amen!

Bad news...
The Future of Caldwell and the Polians [Mega-merge]

I think most of the fans weren't surprised.
Interesting Caldwell's situation, he is still under evaluation...anything may happen, but I hope Mr. Irsay won't forget to sweep out this corner too.
