  1. Our WRs are a lot better this year, so they're gonna win some matchups in camp vs our corners, I'd be a little nervous if they didn't. Having said that, Collins was a waiver wire pickup, Ballard got him for next to nothing, & if he doesn't make the team because someone else steps up, that's just how the cookie crumbles.

If he misses 2-3 games, it would be against the Chargers, at the Titans and against the Falcons.  With a back up QB, we could go 0-3.  1-2 would probably be best case scenario.   With a tough schedule this year, combined with lots of teams expected to be improved, a playoff spot may be out of reach.

    6 teams make the playoffs:

    Patriots

    Chiefs

    Chargers

    Ravens

    Steelers

    Colts

    Texans

    Browns

    Other teams

Starting 1-2 would not cut it.

Yeah the notion that Luck can be out 3-4 games & the Colts wouldn't miss a beat is silly. We're a contender with him, & fortunate to get 8 wins without him.

Luck is reportedly throwing and doing walk throughs with the offense.  Last year he was hardly hit with our new OL.  That's a plus.  Reich's offense has him getting rid of the ball earlier.  That's also a plus.  With three weeks to go and with more rest and rehab and if our OL is healthy and ready to start then I can see him starting game one.  He has already said the pain he is feeling would not prevent him from starting the season.  A lot of healing can take place in three weeks.

He needs to be on the practice field in 2 weeks, otherwise he's not playing. The Colts brass won't use precaution & keep him out of practice where he's not even allowed to be hit, only to throw him to the wolves week 1 with no full speed practice reps under his belt. Reich said he wants him to have a week of full team drills etc before he plays. So if he's not out there by September 1, or before, you can count on him missing the regular season opener.

thread for updates and talk about the colts / browns joint practice.

ill be interested to see how they compete.  this camp has been a night and day difference between hue jacksons "camp cupcake" and this year's TC.

for reference the browns have been in full pads with hitting all but 1 day so far in camp.  one would think that would be bad with injuries but last year had many more injured players. this year they have been relatively healthy so far.

    Welcome!

"Chipotle-induced indigestion" was the official designation.

Why can't Luck be  more like Hasselbeck and give full disclosure of all his ailments? We need full descriptions of the color, texture, odor, amount, etc. The fans deserve this.

Right? This incident was 3 years ago & we still don't know if he splurged & paid extra for guac.

He also suffers from indigestion and psoriasis. But the team has failed us in not divulging that information as well.

Wait, I could've sworn that he was on the injury report at some point for indigestion? Oh wait, that was Hasselbeck.

Bro you’re kidding right? You think he’s fine? He’s been injured literally this whole year lol and hasn’t healed from it yet.. yeah believe he is fine why don’t you.. not saying he won’t play the first game just saying he is not fine

Agreed. If he was fine he’d be practicing & our GM & owner wouldn’t be doing interviews about his leg.

I'm not saying the Colts know, or don't know... And I'm not saying we're entitled to information....

What I am saying, is that if you're a publicly traded company, and you hide stuff that might impact your stock price, you're breaking the law.

The NFL, and team owners aren't publicly traded, but IF they hide stuff due to ticket sells, well that's just simply dishonest and a very bad look.

The season ticket sales period came & went months ago, so the team has already made that money, so I don’t know how that could be the motivation for their lack of transparency re: Luck’s calf.

I'm concerned but not overly worried. If he isn't ready to practice the week of the Chargers game, then I'll start hitting the panic button.

That’s just a little more than 2 weeks away, & while I expect him to practice & play, it’s hard to imagine how this’ll be 100% healed by then.

  10. 1 hour ago, Flash7 said:

So you would rather that Luck practice at camp during the preseason, knowing that he has the calf/ankle issue?

No, but the fact that he's in enough pain 3.5 months after the fact that he can't practice should be cause for concern if you ask me.

    I don’t think Q Looked that good.

He looked pretty good to me. Granted this is only 3 plays & I didn't watch the game because preseason games are just awful, but I'm guessing there aren't many guards that are gonna stand  Ed Oliver up consistently.

I don’t understand how this approach gets us ready for the regular season. I know pre season doesn’t matter but this approach just seems weird.

It's not meant to get us ready for the regular season, how can it be when the starters that actually suit up only play a series or 2? Preseason's all about getting the roster from 90 to 53, at least that seems to be the coaching staff's approach.

Bugs the crap out of me. You have your first stringers out there, execute non-vanilla plays for crying out loud.

I'm not advocating breaking out year two wrinkles but what's wrong with plays that we ran last year that are already on tape.

How can they possibly evaluate game day tape with 76 3 and outs......?

Either get used to it, or don't watch. It's gonna be that way for 3 more games.

lol that Texan thread was a treat lol.  I mean, I'd give him back, but now I want him to do good just because I want to see more Texan fans sack punching themselves.  That comment about eating the box of crayons was fabulous.

Yeah the one guy sounds like he fully expects him to be the next Emmitt Smith now that he's on the Colts, & he's at peace with it... he's like "I'm not even mad."

  15. 48 minutes ago, IndyScribe said:

LMAO, he will play. No need to entertain pointless questions.

Can we at least acknowledge the fact that the guy can't even practice without pretending that it's not a big deal? I've seen plenty of Colts fans acting like his being able to participate in walkthroughs is somehow a positive sign, but personally, I'm concerned.

we have our star safety and he’s gonna be due for a contract. Collins isn’t special

He's very good, but not highest paid safety in the league good. I think a lot of people, myself included, really wanted us to get him since we passed on him for Dorsett in '15, like it would undo some kind of curse or something.

I hope for Wilson’s sake the media is just ignoring him and because rock is new he is getting the headlines. Because right now it seems he could be beating out Wilson.

I wouldn't say they're ignoring him, I just read this piece on him the other day:

Yep. This is nothing like last year. Hopefully he will get some reps in for a few weeks before the season starts.  Even if he only gets a series or two in the preseason is enough to get his timing down. Most important he needs those reps in practice.

If he were practicing, but just opting not to play in preseason games, I wouldn't even be concerned in the slightest.

"Luck's situation is not good". "Not at all". That is what half the forum said last summer and he threw for 39 TD's and 4500 Yards. We went 10-6 and went to the final 8. You of all people should know it is way too early to be concerned. These posts today from some in here are downright embarrassing if you go back and read them. It has been toxic in here to be honest.

Yeah but Luck actually practiced last year, & played in the preseason games. He's already missed more of training camp this year than he did during all of last year's sessions. He's practiced twice so far, & it's only been individual drills & 7 on 7, nothing that's full speed or against a pass rush. I'm sure he's fine.
