[Was it as difficult to watch for you?]

Once the pageantry was over and done with, I thoroughly enjoyed watching our D get after him, picks, sacks, a safety, it was awesome. If this D can do what that to Manning, they can do that to anyone.

 

Of course, I do live in Colorado and had some harsh comments come my way yesterday from some tools that were wearing those orange #18 jerseys, so last night was very gratifying for me as a Colts fan.

I'm amazed at how many people are in love with Donald Brown right now. Weren't most of these people looking for him to be cut? 

 

 

 

Yeah, like 2 weeks ago. I think most people's issue with Brown is that the Colts used a 1st round pick on him. If he were a 3rd or 4th rounder, everyone would say he was a diamond in the rough.

I'm hoping to be re-introduced to this face that we've all seen so many times...

I don't know why it is so hard for some to understand what the team is trying to do. They want to be a team that punches another team in the mouth on offense and defense. I love that they are trying to become that instead of the wussball we played for yrs. here and it always bit us in the backside come playoff time. 

 

The problem is we still don't have all the personnel to do it on a consistent basis. One thing that would help, is to put McGlynn back at center and put Satele on the waiver wire. We need more consistent play from our defense. I don't know why so many Colts fans are obsessed with Luck throwing the ball 50 times a game. It might work against some weaker teams, but come playoff time, it's a recipe for failure.

 

Thank you. Couldn't have said it better myself. People need to remember that it's Pep's first year as an NFL OC as well. He's never seen ANY of these defenses yet, and he's still learning how to best utilize our current personnel.

And everyone was so excited that we brought in Trent Richardson, but nobody seems to actually want the Colts to use him. What we're seeing right now is an actual FOOTBALL TEAM being built, as opposed to that CFL squad we had during the Manning era. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but you can't disagree with the end result, which was usually early playoff exits.

 

Go root for the Broncos if that's the style of football you want. And you'll see what happens to them come playoff time, which will be the same thing that happened to them last year.

[We are what many of us feared]

Uhhh, we're 4-2, with two HUGE wins over NFC powerhouses. The AFC South champs will be the Colts. Questioning playcalls just because we lost isn't necessary or valid. Every target Luck threw to last night had a drop with a wide open field to run, so the playcalling was fine, just a total lack of execution. The defense was giving up huge time consuming drives, which made it very difficult for the offense to get into a rhythm.

 

We as fans have to remember, this is Pep's first year as an NFL OC, so there will be growing pains. The pieces are there, he just needs to get a better grasp as to how he should use them, which will take a little time.

 

So before we start calling for coach's heads, we should realize that at least we're not the Giants or the Jaguars. With all the moaning and groaning I'm hearing today, you'd think we were 0-6.

 

I will make one criticism about Pep though, that stupid play where Luck rolls out to his left and tries to throw it needs to be pulled from the playbook immediately. The guy's right-handed, rolling out to his left on a passing play is just silly and awkward, and it doesn't work.

Donald Brown's averaging 7.8 ypc this season. Although it's a small sample size, he's actually better than he was in college, and he's splitting carries.

 

As far as Richardson goes, give it time. Our O-Line has to learn how to block for his running style, and he still hasn't fully grasped the playbook yet. He'll be busting out 20 yard gains come November when it really starts to count.

 

I like this tandem right now, and it's only going to get better.
