  2. You saw that tragedy LIVE in person ColtsFTW? Ouch...I could barely stomach watching it on TV. My condolences sir. Sigh...Clearly, not our best day at the office was it?  haha

    I know. I felt like I was witnessing a crime. =(

If you think the Ram's game was bad, try watching a Purdue football game EVERY single week. Now, that's a crime.

I will say, though, my ticket was well spent today (it only cost me $2.50 lol). Purdue actually had a somewhat competitive game, plus Drew Brees showed up in the student section at the beginning of the fourth quarter! On top of that, my Block P sign has a Drew Brees signature now :36dancing:

  3. Marshall needs to lay of the Haterade. I will say some of his points are valid, though.

On another note, not trying to hijack the thread, but did anyone watch the 2057: Brady vs. Manning video that played after the Marshall one? That was probably the worst, most pointless video I've ever watched..so needless to say, don't waste your time (it makes a Yahoo! video look good). Plus, Brady looks pretty dang good for 80...I'll be one happy fella if I look anything like that.

  4. Yeah, but usually the same call being called two different ways to benefit the same team doesnt happen. The cherry on top being the guy it was called on got a fine for it. The refs have created a bias controversy all on their own. Goodell has to be fuming.

That's what makes this situation so funny. I imagine the NFL will fine Hicks since they issued Brooks one...just to make it somewhat fair. On the bright side for Hicks, though, the Saints' bounty program will probably pay 50% of the fine just like Ray Ray did for Brooks..which makes it even more fair haha

  5. Maybe we should have an intra-squad scrimmage 30 minutes prior to the game...that way, maybe, we'll actually come out and start playing from the get-go.

Like a few others have mentioned, I don't blame the "experts" for choosing the Cards. We haven't done anything lately to make them think otherwise. Ideally, hopefully Larry Fitz scores 2-3 touchdowns (fantasy football makes me such a conflicted fan at times  )..but the Colts come away with the W. With that said, I feel like we're going to drop this game and lose it sadly..hopefully I'm wrong though. On the bright side, if we do lose, I will stare at this ridiculously silly photo to make me feel better

  6. Wow..a fine, really? The NFL is getting way too overprotective of the QB's. I understand they're trying to make the game as safe as possible but for crying out loud...it's football. At this rate, the NFL might as well provide the QB's with a complimentary sample of this before each game:

  7. .

I get all the franchise stuff where Irsay owns all the logos, but can't you people in Indianapolis come up with something original on your own, and stop trading off the old Baltimore Colts history ? They sell these caps in Baltimore, but I wouldn't buy it if it didn't have Baltimore on it. Otherwise , it's not a real throwback.

Next we'll be seeing t- shirts from Super Bowl 5 saying Indianapolis 16 Dallas 13 ! Don't let history get in the way of revisionism !

Why should the people of Indianapolis have to come up with something original on their own? Don't try to fix something that's not broken. And even with that being said, I would take it as a compliment. It's obviously a testament to the people of Baltimore that they did a good job with thinking of a classic logo...hence it's still in use. I will give credit to Baltimore, though, for not adopting the Browns logos/colors..and coming up with the Ravens idea and such....

....however, I don't think even Helen Keller herself would have kept those egregiously looking Browns jerseys/logos.

  8. Dammit. In my dream, Adam Vinatieri comes into my room at night, nude, and he beats the crap outta me.

That's funny. I had a similar dream where Aaron Hernandez woke up to a big black guy, nude, hovering over him..and believe me...this guy "beat the crap" outta Hernandez if you know what I mean. Let's just say Hernandez went from tight end to wide receiver in a matter of minutes. Wait..maybe this wasn't a dream...

  9. If/when I have a son, I'll let him play the game if he so wishes. Sure, you may say that it's ridiculous to expose a child to potential concussions/brain damage...but the bigger tragedy is essentially teaching your kid to play it safe in life. Death is inevitable; it's not a question of "if," but "when." Consequently, I'm shooting for quality, not quantity. I'm not going to walk along a line cautiously my whole life..and if I die at a young age because of it...so be it..because I know when I'm on my death bed, reminiscing the time I had on earth, it's going to be much sweeter knowing that I lived my life to the fullest, with no regrets...rather than living to 90, and thinking about all the what-if's. With that said, am I saying that I'm okay with the current concussion "epidemic?" No. We should try fix the problem (which the NFL, etc are doing). However, meanwhile, I'm not going to fret over the "what if's" in the game.

  10. Think the refs screwed us over more than anything. A pass interference turned down then the play after a punt return TD clearly changed the confidence of our team. Plus the Reed TD turned back. T Rich and the entire run game was poor but i think every single running back playing bad is less likely than the O Line not blocking well. Needed to involve TY more and do screen passes or pass to the running backs more because that was the best thing. I don't think we did bad, sure we had bad spots but until around mid 3rd i believed we had a chance to win the game. Just needed to be a bit more efficient and smarter on both sides of the ball earlier on in the game.

Come on man, don't even blame the refs on this one. Sure, you could argue that the no-pass interference call changed the momentum of the game; however, it didn't cost the Colts the game. It's kind of ridiculous to place the blame on the refs when we lost 38-8, in my opinion. You want to know the best way to win a game without the refs "screwing us over?" Take and maintain the lead so you dictate the outcome of the game, not the refs.  And when a bad call does come your way, react to the adversity in a positive manner..and just move onto the next play. The Colts did neither of those today. The Rams simply outplayed us.

  11. Kind of OT, but in college intramurals some team named themselves "off"...so when playoff time came we thought we had a bye since the chart said our opponent was off. So we didn't show up and we're DQd. They knew what they were doing...We hadn't played them during the regular season bc not every team played each other. We complained to the intramural office, but no dice. Though they did make a rule that no teams could be named "off" or "bye...man we had a good team that year too

Yeah, it's definitely crappy if you're on the receiving end of it. Our intramural team name was going to be "Bye Week" this year (I don't believe we have any restrictions on team names here..besides offensive words obviously)..but we decided against it. The more we thought about it...it's kind of cheap to win that way lol. However, with that said, fantasy is a whole another story. The seven guys I play with are "Ryan Grigson Mini-mes." Every year, they draft/pick-up players that seem ridiculously stupid at the time...but turn out to be the biggest steals of the draft. So the only way I can compete is through other means (e.g. Bye Week name).

  12. If we want to get technical here, they have quite a lot in common. Both are from African American descent, both are employed by the NFL, both had surgeries due to prior injuries, both are behind two future HOF QB's, both have won national titles in college, both have dreads, both play the RB position, both have a salary of more than a million, etc etc etc

Some of you guys need to stop hating on Trent. He's only played a handful of games, and you're acting like he's behind an all-pro line. If Eddie Lacy played in our system, with our line, and with the conditions Trent was put under (learning a new playbook, getting acquainted with a new city, etc) he would more than likely experience the same success Trent is currently achieving. Some of us fail to realize that Eddie has had a full offseason to learn the playbook/schemes, etc while Trent has not. Again, just to reiterate, some of you guys need to chill. Most of you had unrealistic expectations once Trent came to Indy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not claiming that he's going to have a HOF career; however, I'm going to reserve my judgement until I've seen him play with a full offseason under his belt..and hopefully an improved line...rather than bashing the guy for the first 5-6 games.

  13. I don't think it's right or fair to trash the kid, he'll be getting enough if that from Texans fans. Let's enjoy the win, not kick a guy while he's down.

We're not trashing the kid. Didn't you notice the Randy Bullock appreciation thread? While the whole city of Houston will be burning his jersey( and if their forum is like ours, they'll have like 20 "Get rid of Randy Bullock" threads), we will be embracing him as the hero he should be. Randy Bullock for M.V.P.!
