Although I would've never traded Wiggins, I do feel like Love is an easy target to get the blame when the Cavs lose. Nobody in the media ever blames LeBron or Kyrie, it's usually him or T. Thompson. Most people on ESPN give LeBron a pass for losing because he played the Warriors.

Let's be real. There's a reason why Lebron or Kyrie seldomly ever get blamed for the Cavs losing. It's because they don't deserve to be blamed 95% of the time. Although Love does become an easy target for the Cav's woes....it's completely warranted for the most part. Love was brought into Cleveland to play a major role. However, if you've watched him play for the past 2 seasons, he's painfully inconsistent. Therefore, he should expect to receive large criticism when he doesn't perform. Similarly, Tristan (who is expected to live up to his near max contract) is also inconsistent. Some games he looks like he's worth that 80+ million dollar contract, while others not so much.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying LeBron or Kyrie is never at fault--because they are once in a blue moon. But when they are at fault, the media definitely holds them accountable. It just doesn't seem like that media ever targets LeBron or Kyrie because they usually don't have a game where they can become the scapegoat

I know people would complain if they charged for a press conference, and now people are complaining that its free?
I am excited about the media coverage of this and the fight, I am a fan of all things combat.

I feel the media coverage and the talk will be the most interesting aspect of this whole ordeal. Fighting aside, McGregor and Floyd are masters at promoting their own fights. However, the fight itself isn't good for the sport of boxing. It won't be worth watching once the opening bell sounds imo.

I am not sure if this was posted?  Celtics supposedly offered 3 1st round picks and 2 players for George.  I did read the Pacers wanted Rozier and the Celtics didn't want to part with him?

    https://www.yahoo.com/sports/report-celtics-offered-pacers-three-161403330.html

I believe that trade proposal may have been a fake offer that was leaked by Boston's front office. In reality, Boston was likely offering much less than that. The fake proposal would've been more of a precautionary measure to save face. That way, if they didn't acquire PG, the Celtics' fan base would blame the Pacers for not accepting the offer rather than the Celtics front office for offering low ball offers. Gives the fan base the false impression that the Celtics went the extra mile in trying to obtain PG. That said, it might've been a real trade proposal. We'll never know. I just find it hard to believe that KP would decline this offer but accept OKC's--regardless if KP was "hell bent" on getting PG out of the East

I don't like the trade either, I agree we could've got more. It's a great trade for OKC even if PG leaves because then they would have all kinds Cap space. OKC is going to be a dangerous team this season.

Have you seen the West? It's stacked out there. With PG, I don't see OKC being a "dangerous" team as is. I honestly see them being a 4th seed best case scenario when it's all said and done.

It's arguable.  Many teams go decades (with an s) without winning a championship.  Many can go several years without even making the playoffs or posting a winning record.  Boston is close to a championship now and they need a few pieces to get them over LeBron in the East and to be competitive against the Warriors in the West.  Clearly, what they have now isn't working since they just lost 4-1 against Cleveland.  When you're that close to a championship, there's a strong argument for going all in and trying to win it all in the next year.  Not only that, but PG - who changes his mind more than he changes his underwear - has said he wants to play for a contender.  If the Celtics can show him that they're in a position to compete for a championship for the next few years and they actually have the pieces to go against LeBron and the Warriors, he might stay.

If Ainge is too scared to pull the trigger, he could end up with the same team he has now.  Good for regular season success, but not good enough to beat LeBron and nowhere near good enough to compete against the Warriors.  So you could stay championship-less now, or roll the dice and try to hang another banner.

I see what you're saying. I would be more inclined to pull the trigger if this was 3 or so years ago before the Warriors as we know them today existed. But there's a lot of uncertainties with an acquisition such as this.

    1) As mentioned, will PG stay longer than one year? PG's went on the record saying he wants to play for a contender. However, he prefers to play for the Lakers, who currently is not even in the conversation of remotely contending especially out in the west at the present moment.

    2) If the Celtics justify the risk of acquiring PG for a one year rental on the basis of going "all in" for a championship, how good of a chance do they truly have of winning it all even with PG? With PG, I think they have a pretty solid chance of ousting Lebron and the Cavs. However, I don't see the Celtics beating the Warriors in a best of 7 even with George. It's possible, but unlikely. Maybe if they add Gordon Hayward then it gets more interesting but that's another if. TBH, I don't see the Celtics making this trade unless if they acquire Hayward.

Overall, I think the risks outweighs the benefits of making the aforementioned trade. Sure, if they don't pull the trigger then the team could remain the same for next year. But is that really that bad? All things considered, the Celtics are in a good position for the future unlike organizations like the Cavs. They have plenty of draft picks to build for the future. Furthermore, they have an excellent coach in Brad Stevens who's always going to get the most out of his team. This in turn will attract other notable free agents. If I was Ainge, I wouldn't gamble all of those assets away for a possible championship without knowing for certain that PG's committed to stay long term. That's a desperate move that's not necessary for the Celtics.

  6. 2 hours ago, Luck is Good said:

That's not too much at all. Ainge and KP are just playing hard ball with one another

That is quite a bit to ask for if PG is a 1 year rental imo. If Boston can somehow acquire PG knowing he'll extend his contract with them then it's a fair trade. Otherwise, they'll giving up a lot of assets just to see him go to LA the following season. Wouldn't that be funny if the Celtics was able to acquire and retain PG--considering the history between that franchise and the Lakers?

Gotta have Swanigan coming home in one of those trades.

I'm not sure if I would want the Pacers to receive Swanigan tbh. I love Biggie, but I'm skeptical how he'll transition to the pros. His lack of athleticism is likely going to be his Achilles' heel in the NBA. That said, you'd be hard press to find a player with a better work ethic than Biggie--the guy's work ethic is insane. He's definitely going to reach his full potential--I'm just not sure if it'll be enough in the end. I hope I'm wrong, but just my 2 cents on Biggie

i didnt phrase that clearly enough

i meant we never signed one that made it after coming here.

west was good, but he only came here because we had a good core that was built through the draft.  he hasnt made an all star team since 2008

Regardless, West was hell of an acquisition and was a fringe all-star player in some of the years he played in Indy. In fact, you could argue he would've been an all star during a season or two in Indy if he played for a team in a larger market.

It show's Indy is capable of attracting quality free agents assuming we have a solid team together. Obviously, generally speaking, we're not going to attract any all stars/all nba players with a poor team..but that goes without saying

id be ok with "rebuilding" at this point

the cavs and warriors were both lottery teams a few years ago.  curry was a lottery pick and so was klay.  durant was too for that matter.

as for the pacers, paul george and turner were both lottery picks.  players of this caliber never come here in free agency.  history proves that

ive said this before, but when is the last time the pacers brought in a free agent that made an all star team or all nba?  dont think its happened, at least not in my life, its not about to happen now with a roster and coach like we have

Doesn't happen often, but David West was a 2x all star before he came to Indy from NOLA

The Pacers are screwed.  PG screwed them.  We need to get what we can, which h I think will be a 2 nd round pick or an expendable player.

How did PG screw the Pacers? He's not the one that leaked the news--someone within the Pacers' organization or NBA did. If anything, he's trying to do the Pacers the favor by telling them he wants out now. That way the Pacers can get something in return---even if it's little.

Lebron did exactly what he's been known to do, which is disappear when needed most. He did NOTHING the last 7 minutes of the game. He's been doing this for years. Everybody always calls out his final stat line, but when it comes to those final pressure minutes, in games like this, GHOST...

Lebron scored 2 points in the final 7 minutes... let that sink in....

Great players want the ball to close out the game, and KD did exactly that. Lebron? He decided to give it away to Korver TWICE in the final minute... laughable.

The difference between the Cav's and Warriors? One plays as a team, the other can't run/play an offense to save their lives. Isolation offense is street ball stuff, and Cleveland is getting exposed. They've practically ruined Love. He's the easiest guy to guard in the league. He just wants to sit around the 3pt line all game. Kyrie and Lebron just want to continue running Isolation, and grabbing "their" points.

Lebron, Harden, and Westbrook are all the same (Lebron has been fortunate because he's had more help), they will fill their stats, but as far as running/directing and offense to make the team better? Freakin TERRIBLE.

I can't wait to see Lebron get swept AGAIN.

This post is so bad that it doesn't even warrant a response tbh. You should have just typed "I hate LeBron" and it would've sent the same message rather than typing all that nonsense.

I'm just saying stats didn't help in crucial points of the game. They're great stats but they just haven't helped when it mattered

If it wasn't for LeBron carrying the Cavs, there wouldn't have been any crucial moments to begin with. At some point, Lebron needs consistent help from his teammates. If you look at KD, he was a non factor for essentially the entire second half of game 3 until he turned it up near the end of the fourth. KD has a phenomenal team around him that doesn't force him to play like a superstar every second he's on the court.

You do know that KD is 13-21 for 31 points with LeBron guarding him right? You do know that KD has played better at crucial points in all three games right? This is KD's coming out party and it couldn't have happened at a more opportune time. He needed to be great with all the pressure he put on himself. And to the point of disliking LeBron so much, I call it how I see it. LeBron's TD's have been empty stats. Two of the games were absolute massacres. And last night, LeBron was bad down the stretch. A blind man could've seen that. Look in the mirror man. You love yourself some LeBron

Let's be fair, LeBron was playing phenomenal way before those two games became massacres. You can say KD is having the better series which you could have an argument for. However, don't claim LeBron's finals' stats have been "empty" which is completely untrue

What do you think of Purdue's Caleb Swanigan...?

.....only 6-foot-8 but strong on the boards..not a bad shooter

....should be available mid 1st round

Obviously I'm biased, but I like Caleb Swanigan alot. Great rebounder and surprisingly a solid 3 pt shooter. His x factor is his work ethic though. Works extremely hard. If he doesn't produce at the NBA level, it won't be because of his work ethic. The major weakness is his lack of athleticism and lack of speed. He struggled quite a bit to defend Deonte Burton in the Iowa State game, for example. I wouldn't draft him as early as the mid first round though. I'm thinking he's more of a late first early second. I'm hoping he goes to an organization like the Spurs.

I like him, but a lot of people say he should go back to school and he could be a top 10 pick if he does

A lot of people? Outside of the Purdue fan base, most people have said he should go pro this year. Caleb had a phenomenal year this season and it's going to be hard to match/improve what he did next year. Furthermore, the 2018 draft will be deeper next year in terms of big men which could make his stock fall. Not to mention there's always the possibility of an injury.

That's is the 'we cant ever win 'whatever we do' plan,  DG

The assumption here is that Indiana can never attract any free agents..

Trading your star for role players a draft picks and rebuilding simply delays the time when you have to attract a big name free agent....and surround him with complimentary free agents

You cannot build through the draft in the NBA.

You have to be willing to spend to keep your guys (PG, Teague, Myles, Lance) and seek complimentary free agents...

I strongly disagree with you there. You can most certainly build through the draft. In fact, it's almost necessary for small market teams like Indiana. Obviously building through the draft is slower; however, it can be very effective if you draft well. The fact of the matter is, Indiana isn't going to attract any high profile FA's at the present moment. It's very questionable if our superstar (George) even wants to be here anymore. It was a poor decision to turn down ATL's offer imo. 8 first round picks in the next 4 years would've given the Pacers a very bright future.

Dorsett being a Grigson pick has exactly nothing to do with it. If Dorsett can play he will be a Colt. If not, he will get cut. He is still on a rookie contract and all this negativity aimed at him is uncalled for. He has yet to be utilized for a number of reasons. You sound like you want to hate on him because he was drafted #1 when he was not in control of that. Now you are whining over spilled milk.

Chill out dude. I think your reading comprehension skills are a little off.  What he's trying to convey (I think) is Ballard has nothing invested in Dorsett. If he was the one that selected him in the first round, Ballard would be more patient and see if he develops---since he's the one that chose him. However, since that isn't the case, Ballard can easily cut ties with Dorsett if he underperforms.

You see the FIRST TWO abs only, not the entire set. Sorta like the guy on the left in this pic again.

And by 20, I mean a legit 20% bf, not someone who is 50% and lies down to 20 just to make himself feel good and lie to the rest of us.

    Screenshot-2015-07-19-19.20.04-e14373258

That's debatable. In the provided photo, I don't clearly see Mark's abs (2 pack) at 18%. You have to stare at Mark's torso at the right angle to even slightly see the beginning of the 2 pack, and even then it's weak (and this is as best as it gets at 18% considering Mark has good muscle mass/tan skin at this body fat percentage.....the majority of people at 18% would look worse). If I was walking casually down the beach and glanced at Mark walking pass me, it would look like a flat stomach to me. When I think of a 2 pack...I think of a 2 pack that clearly sticks out and is clearly visible at all angles.

    Screenshot-2015-07-19-19.19.58-e14373229

This is the 20% photo you failed to share. Even at good muscle development, you clearly cannot see any resemblance of abs.

  18. 23 hours ago, rock8591 said:

Of all the useless combine measurements, including hand size...I am surprised there are no measurements of body fat percentage. Any ideas why?

I laugh when Vince Wilfork peddles his 20% body fat number. Usually at that number, you can see 2 out of 6 abs or so.

Umm, I strongly disagree with your last sentence. There's no way any of your abs would be showing at 20%. Not a chance. That being said, Vince is clearly over 20% though.

Anyways, you pretty much answered the question yourself imo. Body fat percentage is a useless measurement that provides nothing of value to NFL teams and scouts unlike hand size etc.
