I am just going to stop posting for the weekend.

Not because of the negative threads people create, but because of the merging of the threads. Every time I write up a thoughtful response, the thread gets merged or deleted. When I submit then it’s completely lost because the thread is moved.

I think you guys are making a huge mistake to merge all of these threads. It’s way over the top. It’s a bigger overreaction than the threads to begin with.

I haven’t even had any of my threads merged in this dump of a thread and it I still find it annoying. I can only imagine what others think about the process in place right now.

Merging all these threads is a terrible idea.

I agree, and hate it as well..Once a thread is merged I no longer follow..Its mods doing unnecessary things to feel important..

There's always going to be complaining. I just can't believe the amount of 'Ballard isn't doing anything!' level of stuff around here, when free agency just started. If we look back in two weeks and Ballard hasn't added good players, then I get it.

Problem is most of the players that could make a significant impact are gone..Sure we can get some good players still I concede that, but we are down to lower talent options at every position already..Maybe Ballard is waiting for preseason cuts when he can have the pick of the litter when everyone else is out of money and we are #3 on waiver wire. ..Maybe that will work out..I don't know ?

    Noooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's the problem with free agency is that you typically DON'T get what you pay for.

That's why guys get cut all the time long before their contract is up.

Why do so many people here NOT understand this.

Free agency is often Fools Gold.

Thats why GMs always say...  "Build through the draft!"       Hello!?!

You can't solely build through the draft if you're the Colts...Our old era could because we had a foundation of great picks...This team has too many holes..We have the money and nobody big of our own to sign in near future..By the time guys we sign now contracts would be up then hopefully we do have our own developed guys to resign..Right now we really don't so if we are gonna be competitive this year at least try! If it doesn't work out it still won't hurt us long term..

Why?   Why is that the magic number?  Too expensive?  How do you know he's not worth 10M?  You got someone else in mind that's better or being cheaper is what we're looking for.  Ben Iljana was released.   Maybe you want him back.  Sorry to react so dramatically but it's not you.  It's so many comments like yours that drive me crazy. We have no idea what there value is.  The free market sets the price and if you want to play you pay.  Or you're left with nothing.  When are people going to realize that.  It is what it is.

EVERYBODY IS TOO EXPENSIVE...All you hear in this forum...You get what you pay for more often than not, and we ain't paying so far...

Saw a really interesting mock idea with the Colts trading down with the Bills for 12, 22 and a 2nd.

They had the Colts taking Tremaine Edmunds at 12 and Rouqan Smith at 22 with Guice with the extra 2nd.

Honestly, I'd love this. It would be the start of a young, stud linebacking corpse.

    That would be nice!!

No excuse not to bring back Mingo.

This is really pathetic!!! Ballard is not impressing me at all...I thought Mingo was a bright spot on defense with a ton of potential...So far we are getting worse this offseason...Instead of filling holes we are creating more holes...It doesn't make any sense...I have never been more disappointed as a fan..All these people saying trust the binder are killing me..lol..So all these other GM's who are paying market value must not know what they are doing I guess...It looks like a tank job to me...

So please explain you cup is half full colt fan, What culture do the colts now have?

    I really am curious.

They have been preaching culture for last 7 years and we keep getting WORSE..I wanna win, not 5 years from now, I want a Healthy Luck to at least have a punchers chance and not to continue to waste years..

31 isn’t really that old for a DT I think and he’s also never had any major injuries (not sure if he’s missed many games at all) and he’s still one of the top defensive players

Exactly...He can be very good for another 4 years, maybe longer and will significantly improve our defense...Eagles are proof of what a rotation of good defensive lineman can do..

Jesus #%*ing Christ dude chill out. Do really think the Colts don’t want to win.

I know people are frustrated but every year we get these overreaction threads.

I’m just sitting here here snacking on popcorn laughing reading some of the post on this forum.

Literally most of the even average players are disappearing and we're not even signing our own guys like Melvin..

Yep. At least the Packers and Ravens continually re-sign their own and recycle the team with Compensatory picks when they don't sign many FA's. The Colts can't do any of that. This team is in horrible shape, FA is infuriating every year and we are basically in 2012 form, except we don't have to draft Luck anymore, we can get a playmaker and Luck is 7 years older. The draft has been terrible, FA has been terrible, we keep very few of our guys, and it's starting to wear me down. I can't take this much longer. If we didn't have Luck, I wouldn't care so much, but we are wasting his career away.

Yeah, I feel the same way..I've been a diehard fan for 30 years and I'm almost over it...

One thing I think we tend to forget is the NFL is for the most part cyclical in nature. A team is horrible so they get high draft picks. The team improves and makes the playoffs. The players who help said team make the playoffs want to make more money because they are good at what they do. Previously mentioned team can't pay everyone so the team declines. They then begin to get high draft picks and the process begins again. I know this is an oversimplification of how things work, but sometimes I think we need a reminder that the early 2000's Colts with Peyton Manning and the New England Patriots are not the norm in the era of free agency NFL football. As Colts fan we were blessed for over a decade with constant success. This is NOT the norm in the NFL. We were just part of the Bell Curve. We were on the successful side with the Patriots and the Browns and Rams were the other end of the curve. The rest of the league was and is a constant rotation of teams in and out of the playoffs. That's why every year about half of the playoff teams weren't in the playoffs the year before. We were spoiled during the Manning/Dungy/Polian era and cycle has finally caught up with us. We will be back. It just takes a little time and patience. Believe me, I want to win as much as anyone else here but I think we need to be realistic and patient. Let's trust the process!

It looks like Ballard intends to make us the NFL version of the 76ers..Lets suck for next 3 years and accumulate and stack high picks instead of trying to compete now...I hate that philosophy..That is a loser mentality..
